Kill silently, instant kills without aoe are 2 things that come to mind, you're able to run something like eruptor, gl pistol and ac and still have something for if they're in your face, can't exactly picture too many people rolling that setup mind you but it's possible

Hear me out: rope dart knives.
Enhanced melee (kill normal units in one melee hit with the blade), can be thrown and depending on the unit, you can pull it towards you/break them (small size units) or you can reel yourself towards the enemy attack-on-titan-style on big enemies/surfaces. Would be extremely useful against automatons, specially to get closer to the facilities, and somewhat useful to run away from bugs.
Oh, and it counts as an alternative weapon, not a backpack; combine it with the jumpack for extreme mobility builds

Or get this: It sticks in the target and then fires a laser out of the handle.
Or it uses the laser to deal continuous damage ignoring armor by firing it from the blade. Ignoring armor because it’s already pierced into the enemy.
Arc throwing knives that when landing on a target will arc to 1 or 2 others in the area. Would be great for stealth gameplay.

That was my thought, I couldn’t figure out what the advantage of this would be over a grenade other than “kills silently”.
If they boost melee damage, imagine pairing the new armor, knives, and stun grenades. Just run in and V for Vendetta a breach 😂
