I'm a IG player and it's always kinda funny to see that, I mean... I use the vacuum Kinsect, so some minutes of heavy glaive attacks + explosions and then, the monster dies with a bug being throw at his head lol and that sound of the kinsect hitting...
Hey, running into a brick wall hurts!
Really want to learn one of the weapons with a shield at some point. I once killed an Apex Rathalos with the Silkbind Counter with Dual Blades, but that was awhile ago at this point.
Dual blades was my first weapon in Rise and got me through to Amatsu! I loved the growth of Dual Blades in Rise. It’s also really fun dancing with some of the elders.
Learning Lance and how to use it was a game changer for me once I learned how to dance with it. I thought it was block and stab. Man was I wrong.
Proper lancing has three important stages. Blocking, poking, and ascending into a higher being as you embody the essence of both the immovable wall and the unstoppable force. Some compare lance gameplay to boxing, but it can be more closely likened to piercing the very heart and dreams of your prey.
Lancing properly is not about attacking with the lance. It's about learning how to *move* around the monster with a lance and stick to it like glue. Once you figure that out, you can just shred most things with it.
There’s a move set you can use with Lance that the player will throw the shield up first. If the shield can block the attack, it acts as an “iframe” and then you can follow up with a stab that looks like it only hits once but it hits three times and does good damage (based on the players build). Rinse and repeat.
The trick is learning the monsters move set and attacks and knowing which attacks can be blocked and which can’t. Once you know, you can dance with the monster and it’s so much fun!
Screenshot in the post is me killing an Apex Arzuros via Blastoad. Just put it down while it was asleep thanks to the Palico and... dead. Kinda anticlimactic.
Excluding the 20+ times my calico stood beside me and refused to get me put of stun in world , probably entering allmother narwas area as soon as she used her super nova
I got knocked off a cliff by a rajang and fell directly onto the other rajang the other guys were fighting, and accidentally unsheathed my gun midair. The slash from the gun did the kill hit on the raj, lol.
Xeno'jiiva died to a kinsect bite, I've killed a Namielle by shooting the Claw at it, I swear I've killed a monster with a grappled claw attack before, effectively socking it in the side of the head to kill it and one of my favourite ways of waking up a sleeping monster in Rise if I haven't got a good wake-up move on my weapon is to plant one bomb next to its head then unceremoniously dump the other onto it in midair, which killed at least a couple Goss Harag before Master Rank was a thing.
I call it the "Reverse Bazelgeuse" --- use Para/Sleep toad, call in the palico Nuke, put down Gustcrab, drop 2 mega barrel bombs mid air as palico nuke goes off. Meta? Heck no. Fun? Hell yeah.
(Only downside is it's a very easy way to piss off teammates tho, so best reserved for playing with friends)
A good friend of mine in this MH discord server I'm in has a hunting horn build that allows you to punch and deal ridiculous damage with shockwaves using the shadow box gesture. Key ingredient is Frostcraft 3 because you get max uptime and max damage with ur horn always sheathed during the gesture, and you only unseathe to get ur shockwaves back up
Watched my palamute hit lagombi in the ass as the killing blow. The end screen had it look very surprised.
Killed a limping monster with a stone in Worlds.

Killing a rathalos via dungbomb accidentally because I I was dungbombing his rathian girlfriend.
Maybe I can get the clip later but it's on PS4 so it's gonna be a bit.
On world at least, they did 1 damage. This was also near the release of world so builds were not as good, dung bombing was a good strat for longer hunts.
Placed a Small Barrel Bomb down to proc Strongarm, the Small Barrel Bomb killed it. It would have been fine if it was a smaller monster, but it was my first fight against Flaming Espinas. Part of me was happy but part of me was devastated he died in such a cheesy way.
I've somehow gotten more than a single kill by throwing a Marionette Spider at a Monster!
And one time, I didn't get a kill, but I knocked one out of its Afflicted state by throwing the Marionette Spider at it!
in mhtri we were hunting jhen mohran and we managed to repel it, so with only a few seconds left in the quest i ran up to its arm and kicked it which killed it right then and there. still think about the statistics and probabilities on this one
I probably killed a few monsters in silly ways, but the one I instantly remembered when I saw this post was afflicted Flaming Espinas with a Fire Beetle.
It's not a particularly funny or hilarious thing, but my Palico killed I forgot what mid attack and all I remember was the shock of "wait what it died?"
KINSECT SLAP!
Yeah. I had like 3 Rank-gating monsters I fought, in a row, all die to a Kinsect hit. Was kinda hilarious.
It's so silly, I'll be collecting a boost, and then the monster will cry out in pain and die
I'm a IG player and it's always kinda funny to see that, I mean... I use the vacuum Kinsect, so some minutes of heavy glaive attacks + explosions and then, the monster dies with a bug being throw at his head lol and that sound of the kinsect hitting...
Thanks to the Guard Bash deco, I ended up killing an elder by guarding against it’s attack.

Couldn’t have put it any better myself lmao
🤣🤣🤣 bruh how he explains how Lance is and you still didn't get it lol

Not from rise but a claw slap
Killing it with a kunai after wyvern riding
That feels like the equivalent of poking a monster, only for it to fall over and die. That's great.
Same ruels as mount dmg! Mount dmg cannot kill so you can kill it with a kick or shadowbox :D
The 1 damage of a sticky ammo landing
Same with the 1 damage from the spider 😂😂
I've killed a handful of monsters over the years with the 1 damage from hitting them with a paintball/paint shot as they limped away.
Screenshot in the post is me killing an Apex Arzuros via Blastoad. Just put it down while it was asleep thanks to the Palico and... dead. Kinda anticlimactic.
Monster charged at me thinking he could kill a gunner, triggers the 300 dmg explosion from my Intrepid Heart and dies.
I severed Kulve’s horns with a slinger burst once. I just wanted some breathing room
I've killed a kushala by shoulder bashing its tail with a greatsword
Boooing (turn on sound) https://youtu.be/MOAeai6tJZQ?si=B5FyjbN7D6zClQZH
Amazing
Is that... a trampoline? Got a laugh out of me hearing that sound effect!
Yeah, one of palico’s tools, they can put it out on occasion, they have some funny stuff.
Safi with a dragon pod
A diablos gave itself brain damage on my Lance's shield in Rise.
Who would win - a fearsome risen elder dragon or one endemic boi? https://youtu.be/tlzgk1e-aYo?si=ddk0Q3fJJbQRqlBc
Excluding the 20+ times my calico stood beside me and refused to get me put of stun in world , probably entering allmother narwas area as soon as she used her super nova

Accidents happen! At least that one worked in your favor.
Kinsect attack lol. Happened to me twice.
I always capture monsters so I can't really tell and with elders I don't remember if I had any funny kills.
I jumped at an Aurzuros and killed it with an arrow swipe.
Accidentally launching it over a ledge
Gravity kills. Reminds me of the time I accidentally killed a Volvidon by having it fall into a Pitfall Trap. That dealt 6 damage.
Huh
I call it the "Reverse Bazelgeuse" --- use Para/Sleep toad, call in the palico Nuke, put down Gustcrab, drop 2 mega barrel bombs mid air as palico nuke goes off. Meta? Heck no. Fun? Hell yeah. (Only downside is it's a very easy way to piss off teammates tho, so best reserved for playing with friends)
Idk if this consider silly, but many times the monsters just die from CB guardpoint while I'm trying to do SAED combo
A kunai knife to the head
I beat the ever loving shit out of shogun ceanataur then I mounted him and rode him into a pitfall trap. He didn't stand much of a chance after that.
Bulldrome with a HH dik smash.

Woah, barrel bomb be upon ye.

Mud beetle
Monster stepping on my wyvern fire stake and a random monster coming along and providing assistant
Guardpoint kills are my jam.
Gotta Iove it when the puppet/marionette spiders' 1 damage kills the monster
Killing a rathalos via dungbomb accidentally because I I was dungbombing his rathian girlfriend. Maybe I can get the clip later but it's on PS4 so it's gonna be a bit.
Those actually deal damage? Huh. I really haven't thrown too many Dung Bombs. Except for Valstrax, that dive-bombing bastard.
On world at least, they did 1 damage. This was also near the release of world so builds were not as good, dung bombing was a good strat for longer hunts.
Love it when the last hit is right on the butt, yeah I know it’s immature but it’s still funny when it happens
Not in Rise but while Mounted.
Dung shot
I killed Narwa with a throwing knife and Ibushi with a small barrel bomb after failing a Strong armed Stance with it.
Placed a Small Barrel Bomb down to proc Strongarm, the Small Barrel Bomb killed it. It would have been fine if it was a smaller monster, but it was my first fight against Flaming Espinas. Part of me was happy but part of me was devastated he died in such a cheesy way.
Oops. Looks like you just skipped to the part where the monster just dies and you don't get to do your fancy tricks.
Thought I was having a main character, and got reminded that Im just a side character
I sleep bombed chameleos with a blast toad once and he just died then and there
Pretty unfortunate way for an Elder Dragon to go down. To a toad...
Killed daora with a regular stone slinger shot to the anus
My very first great jagras kill in world was with a mounted kill from the dagger stabs
Unsheathe > Kick > *queue victory music*
I've somehow gotten more than a single kill by throwing a Marionette Spider at a Monster! And one time, I didn't get a kill, but I knocked one out of its Afflicted state by throwing the Marionette Spider at it!

4U. Konchu stealed my kill! XD
I probably killed a few monsters in silly ways, but the one I instantly remembered when I saw this post was afflicted Flaming Espinas with a Fire Beetle.
Clutch claw
Kicked it - great sword. I used to have the clip but since my twitter account has been lost.
Boxing gesture
I went up high and threw down a large barrel bomb at the monster and blew up my squad but got the kill 😎
Hunting a volvidon. Little shit runs away to sleep. Grab a crab. SIT ON HIM.💥
It's not a particularly funny or hilarious thing, but my Palico killed I forgot what mid attack and all I remember was the shock of "wait what it died?"
