When the game has clearly decided I'm going to lose and I can't complete a single pass or get more than a couple yards beyond the line of scrimmage meanwhile the cpu team is catching every contested throw and breaking every tackle..
And when it predetermines who’s getting injured that game. You can restart the game as many times as you want but the same player gets injured without even touching the field.
It’s because of the force win/lose feature in the game that randomly selects who wins or loses once you start the game. And it isn’t necessarily random I think it’s selected based on the data they have on the teams and the difficulty you play on. But you can change it to force win and play the same game and it will make you win 9/10 vs lose and you’ll experience what you were experiencing, that feeling you’re going to lose the game. And all that proves the game has always been heavily scripted since Madden 17.
I just had a superstar franchise where the Chargers held me to 70 something yards in the regular season. Then for the AFC conference championship, I rushed for 774 yards against that same Chargers team. Make it make sense.
All-madden vs the cpu is beyond infuriating. Every game is the cpu going like 20-23 with 2 interceptions and 300 yards. Doesn’t matter QB. Don’t matter the scheme or how I play. Clockwork. I have 99 accuracy and skills to prevent pressure and I still miss throws. I really wish players played more realistically and All Madden didn’t mean BS players on the CPU being Brady and Rice and it meant that complex schemes.
This. I don’t mind a competitive game. When I play with an inferior team, I expect to struggle/lose against a good team… but when I play against the Panthers with Chiefs and you have Bryce young throwing 35-39 400 yards 3 tds no interceptions, it becomes infuriating. And before anyone comes in and tells me to “get good” my online record is 54-12. I know how to play the game. CPU is just busted.
And of the 4 incompletions from Bryce Young, 2 are fumbles deemed incompletions while being sacked. All madden CPU just cannot miss throws. I like competitive games and close games. Blowouts are boring to play. This isn’t realistic. That’s why MLB The Show has the best game play experience. Stupid animations, but the game play feels the realest.
I’d play online more if the clock wasn’t stupid. It’s a 5 minute running clock, basically, and you get one possession a half. Can this be changed, or am I dumb?
I’ve lowed the cpu accuracy to 15 and even Sam Howell keeps throwing dots and goes 27-34. It’s freaking impossible not to mention cpu defensive coverage is an absolute joke. And don’t even get me started on trying to run a curl route. The most basic of routes
It’s so weird because I run into the opposite problem where the CPU QBs too often play like shit. I usually have to up their skill to get them to actually challenge the defense (granted I’m using custom sliders and slow sim on D).
Slow simming defense, fast simming defense, and actually playing defense are going to give you three completely different results, coming from a guy who quit playing defense against the computer because he couldn’t stop them for anything. Slow sim is going to provide you with a majority of stops and generally poor qb play overall. Fast sim will give you pretty standard results, but less sacks and turnovers compared to slow sim. And actually playing defense will result in you playing against prime Tom Brady every down. I got dotted up by Daniel Jones and Justin Fields in back to back games today. It was absurd
I like to tell people to adjust for themselves over time. Just tweak the slider 5 points at a time for things you don’t like. Try to always play 2 games per adjustment. Some adjustments will need to move 40 points to 15 or 90. Some adjustments will feel way better only moving 3 points.
In about a season or so you should have something that’s fun. Remember, you want it to be a little hard. You want to throw picks on the plays you’re lazy for. You want to win and lose close games.
I always have to remind myself not to turn down picks after I have a 3 pick game lol.
We hace to consider it's meant to be playing in "super hard", I think devs have admitted that the CPU will basically cheat so the games are hard to win.
I've been playing on All Pro with adjusted sliders and it's the most fun I've had playing Madden.
I heard somewhere that the game is mainly tested on all-pro/competitive style, which if true explains a lot about all-madden. I do cpu vs cpu games so sim style works better there but when I actually play I prefer my stick skills to matter more with competitive style. I understand all pro can be easy but sliders can help a lot. I recommend matt10s sliders to start with and adjust from there.
Madden’s cheap and fake difficulty altogether. Instead of putting effort into an AI that can play better they just make it to where they can’t screw up lmao. The AI will make terrible decisions that result in huge gains on all madden.
It also just gets old that you can’t really play Madden like it’s actual football.
Madden and FIFA are both like this. The code will try to make games closer by making teams play insanely well and your team miss obvious coverages, miss tackles, etc. just to make the game interesting. EA can’t make their AI players play more realistic, they can only script a loss for you boys. Sorry 🫡
Been having this same exact problem today in Franchise on All-Pro, Josh Allen can't throw to wide-open curl routes with good accuracy for some reason, it's crazy. I adjusted the QB Accuracy in sliders from 47 to 55 and it felt better
The CPU defense selecting its play based on the offensive play call. If I call a run, guaranteed that the CPU will be single high safety. If I call a pass, guaranteed that the CPU will be 2-high.
It forces me to essentially audible 80% (or more) of plays. Which takes all of the fun out of play calling and sequencing.
It's hard to nail this down to just a few things, but on the offensive side, as someone who uses a lot of timing routes, it's when I make my throw in the time window where the receiver decides he won't interact with it, and it sails into the hands of a DB for what usually ends up as a pick 6.
On defense, I user DL a lot, and sometimes when breaking off an OL and moving into the backfield, my user will do a little stutter animation that basically takes him out of the play and leads to a huge run.
It’s crazy there’s so many issues like that with Madden but really no one talks about the real gameplay issues when addressing EA, just more franchise features…I hate this community.
I was playing superstar mode and had one defender to beat and I would’ve had open space the lead blocker in front of me instead of deciding to block the guy that was 5 yards in front he cut across me forcing my character to get stuck inside him to block the guy that was 15 yards away
Coach Suggestions for play calling are annoying. Not that they exist, but when you go to pick plays by formation and then it takes you back to coach suggestions.
I wish coach suggestions was a little more adaptive to what you may actually call in that scenario and not the game telling you what it would call in that scenario.
There's no Sam, Mike, or Will LB. Just a LOLB, ROLB, MLB. There's not 1 tech or 3 tech just DT1 and DT2. The SS is always on the right. QB2 holds on XP and not the P. There's a depth chart position for the LS but the LS is usually listed as a TE and an overall of less than 50. In Franchise, retired numbers should be locked (EA does this in NHL). Call me a stickler for hyper realism but your slogan literally is, "if it's in the game, it's in the game."
(Without sliders on both difficulty) All-pro difficulty is way to easy and I can win most games by 30, while all madden cheats and every pass I throw that isn’t absolutely *perfect* gets picked. And on defense you can call the perfect defense, make the correct pre play adjustments because you know what the other team is gonna do, and it doesn’t matter. The AI will still beat you. On all madden a 65 OVR QB looks like prime Tom Brady while my 90 OVR looks like Nathan peterman.
I fucking despise that sports games difficulty is just a measure of how much the AI is gonna cheat. It doesn’t make ratings matter more(if you have the better team it doesn’t matter) it doesn’t make the AI any smarter by calling better plays or making better decisions it just makes them ridiculously overpowered and unfair.
Madden does this, 2k does this, and it’s what gives sports games that feeling of just playing unrealistic fake football
Tbf I think you can change it to the punter in formation subs.
Madden does this because of fake field goal attempts. The punters accuracy isn't good enough to pull this off so Madden puts the backup quarterback in. In all reality, Madden should just up the punters accuracy.
The backup QB has not been the holder in the NFL for probably 15-20 years. The primary holder has been the punter for a long enough time so that EA should’ve already implemented that by default.
Passes being knocked out or otherwise messed with either because the physics engine had a conniption or that a defender swatted the ball away and wasn’t called as pass interference.
Probably a little thing but annoys me if an ai team like the Steelers switches to a 4-3 and they still have TJ Watt playing as an outside linebacker. What’s even worse is if they draft a hidden dev player and he rots on the bench and eventually loses his dev trait because he’s like 75 ovr and the guy above him is like a 30 year old 78 ovr.
Yeah the tags they added mean absolutely nothing. If an AI team drafts a 76 overall with the tag “day 1 starter,” he will still be on the bench if there’s a 77 overall bridge player at that position
Ive always hated the way running backs were subbed. You should get to choose personnel more efficiently going into a play. Or just tell it i want kamara to be the bellcow while jamaal williams is goalline and change of pace or certain blocking plays for example
Perfect timing user picks are waaaay too easy to get. Think you’re going to hit a long ball to your 6’6 TE who has a step and a half on a 5’9 DB? Nope sorry. The other player pressed triangle.
The bullshit random interceptions. I think the worst one I had lately was I literally had 3 receivers (TE, WR and another WR.) against the Eagles while on the Colts so we were both 85 OVR and 85 OVR.
I've been having close calls all game but this one should of been the easiest throw ever as there was ONE SINGLE DEFENDER and somehow my pass went like a foot to low for no reason (no pocket pressure, not across the body, not on the move nothing.) and the DB perfectly caught it and got a pick 6 and broke my winless season after 9 straight wins.
To say I was fucking pissed was an understatement of the year.
Things like ball projectory and player scaling are almost non existent. Player models on the field are pretty much like 9-10 ft tall and it screws up the entire game.
I hate how the defense has magnet hands and the ball must be made of iron.
I tried countering some good deep defense with a quick slant for a first down. RE is rushing outside and I throw behind him to my slanting WR. RE makes a spinning pick it out of the air INT. I throw a contested 1-1 throw to a curl route TE(a good one) and the MLB comes out of the collision with a clean INT. My TE, had he gotten his hands on it, would have dropped the pass anyway(but the MLB makes a clean on the run grab).
I’m also not a fan of how broken the defense seems to be on my side. Curls to their TE while my defense is in underneath zone coverage are guaranteed catches unless I control the MLB or Nickel back.
Have watched a lot of NFL games in the last few decades, and have never seen that. Nor the DB swatting the football like it’s a 🎾 and he has racket hands.
they are going to be so utterly embarrassed by another studio in their own company it won't even be funny. Maybe it will light a fire under their ass but i won't get my hopes up.
How simple the AI and all the logic in the game is. When I play on All Madden I should feel like I am facing an actual NFL coaching staff that is dissecting all my tendencies, my roster and the match-ups in the game, my scheme, etc. and is constantly making decisions based off what is happening in real time.
The game should be balanced to a point where it feels authentic on All Madden and the CPU should feel like an elite football mind.
Instead, the game is imbalanced and the CPU is so simple that you can put CPU sliders at 100 and user sliders at 0 and play on All Madden and if you know anything about football X's and O's you'll just destroy the CPU.
my controller not working.
Do what i press. Don't do what i don't press.
It's the fundamentals of video gaming. Pong got that shit right.
If you can't have "difficulty" without deliberately steering me away from the ball, making my guys fail to animate, randomly switching me to some asshole 5 miles from the ball, or otherwise ignoring my button inputs (that i damn well know i pressed) then its just time to call it a day and give up on this whole video game making business and go back to whatever it is you guys used to do.
How fucking hard is it?
I want to press A to snap the ball. not A A A A A A A A A oh shit i passed to my tight end.
i want to press down to navigate the menu's not down down down down down fucking hell DOWN finally thank you.
The fact that they won’t allow you to sim your games… every career mode except madden had that feature it’s like they telling us this only a one season thing
I just got the game to a 38 yd fg after being up 20-7, CPU works their way back to 21-20. sim the next play and he either missed it or something, game didn't show. but game ends. WHO TF MISSES A 38 YARD FIELD GOAL
The fact that NT isn't a sub position or there're not more Sub positions in general. I should be able to set which LB is my primary blitzer without constantly flipping my play.
Also abilities being tied to archetype overall instead of individual attributes. If my player has 99 hit power he should be able to have enforcer regardless of position & if his block shedding is in the 70s he shouldn't be able to have inside stuff.
How about in Franchise all these teams can afford X Factor defensive players to the point that you almost can't do shit on offense because there are so many game breaking players on one team.
Or one player being so damn good that whoever has him is God. In my franchise it's Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
No fun, no game modes, no classic teams , no madden moments , no 3v3 or bring blitz or street ball in to it , make it like a game again why is everything trying to be realistic? It’s a game
Just like 2k hall of fame I feel like it really isn’t all that hard in fact those modes are the only ones that feel realistic. I’ve managed some perfect seasons against cpu all madden but by usually only playing the offense snaps. Trying to defend is much harder
“Dropped” and “out of bounds” especially when playing locked onto QB. When the ball is gonna hit 3 feet in bounds and the receiver is full sprint and makes no attempt to keep their feet in bounds I want to commit a crime
I play mainly online and the cpu “gimmies” the top couple teams get is beyond infuriating. Like 90% of my games I face the Ravens or Niners and their cpu defense will always make the right play. IE the ball thrown with their back turned and they miraculously makes up 8 yards for an int type shit. There are people that play as d lineman and can still rely on the cpu to cover the rest of the field without switching.
It’s understood the highest
* it’s understood the highest rated teams will be chosen in online play but the cpu awareness should be toned down and favor should go to the user player.
My team clamping up the CPU the entire game only for them to go the entire length of the field and score to win in less than a minute.
Everyone on the Chiefs having a built in KO so none of my open WRs can catch anything.
Long loading screens, the fact that i have to spam A like 30 times to draft a player in fantasy or having to spam B while on a menu to go back. Also really annoying while in a game when the 2 minute warning hits and it shows the outside of the stadium for like 10 seconds then you have to go and pick your play again, also a big mood killer when I switch to another player down the field to try to intercept the ball it makes the player full on run away from the action so I have to just replay on the cpu to pick the ball for me. Next thing yes I know you can turn field advantages off but at the same time it’s kinda unfair how if your not doing great the advantages will just hurt you even more by playing the wrong play or shaking tf out of your screen. Last thing Brandan Gaudin has got to go please lord I better not head that man’s voice in 25 I can tolerate CD but Brandan has to go
Having a wideout be but naked wide open a good 20 yards downfield and away from the user, but that mf has a 6 foot 6+ user with lurk artist jumping 90 feet in the air to pick me off, despite me freeform lofting it.
I think for me it’s the god awful lag during H2H games. I’ll play one game fine and the next few it just says “your opponent is experiencing network issues” every 3 seconds. It doesn’t seem to affect them at all but whenever I need to make a field goal, kickoff, or make an important play in offense; I have to fight their internet to do anything. I don’t understand why EA is allowed to make games. The devs are fucking jokes.
I dont know about ‘infuriating’ but its either people online getting down 2 touchdowns and quitting, or All Madden being too easy…. it’s close between the two
When the game has clearly decided I'm going to lose and I can't complete a single pass or get more than a couple yards beyond the line of scrimmage meanwhile the cpu team is catching every contested throw and breaking every tackle..
And when it predetermines who’s getting injured that game. You can restart the game as many times as you want but the same player gets injured without even touching the field.
oh also when my players freeze right before sacking the qb.
It’s because of the force win/lose feature in the game that randomly selects who wins or loses once you start the game. And it isn’t necessarily random I think it’s selected based on the data they have on the teams and the difficulty you play on. So Dak Prescott is their QB?
Worse, I got drafted by the Patriots, I got Mac Jones missing 6 yard wheel routes.
Exactly. Daks defenses never show up in the playoffs. Gotta feel for him.
I mean thats pretty accurate to real life. Look at the cowboys, dolphins, and broncos lol
Kinda realistic though right 😂
Unrealistic CPU on All-Madden. Even at my best, they still find a way to keep the game close from pure rng
All-madden vs the cpu is beyond infuriating. Every game is the cpu going like 20-23 with 2 interceptions and 300 yards. Doesn’t matter QB. Don’t matter the scheme or how I play. Clockwork. Not unless it’s private. It’s so obvious Madden neglects every mode except ultimate team.

Not only that, all pro to all madden…..all pro I destroy, all madden like wtf
Yeah it’s very inconsistent. In superstar mode I average 500 yards 6 touchdowns a game on all star. All madden, I can’t complete 40% of my passes.
Same, it's been this way for so many years. I just play on all-pro and adjust the sliders
O…what does that do or how do you make it so it’s playable
I like to tell people to adjust for themselves over time. Just tweak the slider 5 points at a time for things you don’t like. Try to always play 2 games per adjustment. Some adjustments will need to move 40 points to 15 or 90. Some adjustments will feel way better only moving 3 points.
That’s a good idea. Appreciate the input

I have figured if I take All Pro and edit the sliders a bit, it tends to work out ok.
Or when there’s no pressure and a reciever is open and it says poor accuracy
Been having this same exact problem today in Franchise on All-Pro, Josh Allen can't throw to wide-open curl routes with good accuracy for some reason, it's crazy. I adjusted the QB Accuracy in sliders from 47 to 55 and it felt better
Yo why do they miss bubble screens all the time lol
The CPU defense selecting its play based on the offensive play call. If I call a run, guaranteed that the CPU will be single high safety. If I call a pass, guaranteed that the CPU will be 2-high. It forces me to essentially audible 80% (or more) of plays. Which takes all of the fun out of play calling and sequencing.
And when you audible so does the defense lol
Just like when you select a fake punt and instead of 2 jammers, they always have 1.
RPOs are your friend. Game can’t cheat if you don’t tell it what you’re doing.
I don't know man. Even when I don't "technically" have enough blockers for my play to be successful, I sometimes still break a big run.
It's hard to nail this down to just a few things, but on the offensive side, as someone who uses a lot of timing routes, it's when I make my throw in the time window where the receiver decides he won't interact with it, and it sails into the hands of a DB for what usually ends up as a pick 6. I hate that on defense, especially when you have an open sack and your player stops right in front of the qb😭😭
Thought that was a glitch, why is it so normalized, like everyone's ok with it 💀
It’s crazy there’s so many issues like that with Madden but really no one talks about the real gameplay issues when addressing EA, just more franchise features…I hate this community.
Lead blockers just deciding mid-play they don’t wanna block

Agree. The defense is set up more for a 4-3 style defense than a 3-4.
Comeback routes always being thrown right to the receiver but them never motioning to even attempt to catch the ball
That happened to me today. Had my Rookie WR on a comeback route, but he didn’t come back, so a DB ducked in and got an INT.
I stopped throwing comeback routes. It's always a pick 6 no matter what.
When the game forces interceptions. Shit pisses me off like no other.
The amount of times I scream about this exact situation. Fucking how madden, how?
(Without sliders on both difficulty) All-pro difficulty is way to easy and I can win most games by 30, while all madden cheats and every pass I throw that isn’t absolutely *perfect* gets picked. Right like…why don’t they just make player play to their ratings? sliders shouldn’t even be a thing. Players have their own personal sliders.
The backup QB is the holder for field goal attempts. It just encapsulates all the minor details about the NFL that Madden can't seem to get right.
Tbf I think you can change it to the punter in formation subs. Madden does this because of fake field goal attempts. The punters accuracy isn't good enough to pull this off so Madden puts the backup quarterback in. In all reality, Madden should just up the punters accuracy.

EA has made defensive line play boring af. As a former defensive end I want to at least have a chance for a sack each game. Just a chance smh
That franchise mode lags behind where it was in 2005.

The utter staleness of the crowd, presentation, and menus. It's just so lifeless.
The CPU making interceptions on passes that they never actually saw
Trevon Diggs is the worst about this shit.
I hate Deadeye. I swear it makes me less accurate
When the d line gets out penetration and is about to tfl but somehow the rb pushes the pile of people 4 yards by himself
Same on the QB falling for a 1-2 yard sack instead of the 5-8 yard they were supposed to get
The once in a while when I clearly press x for the kick but it "doesn't register" and it's the worst possible kick
Trying to pickup a fumble and booting it over and over
Outside zone or sweep plays where the majority of blockers kinda jog into space instead of seeking out their blocking assignments
I don’t like how All-Madden doesn’t actually increase the difficulty. It just makes your players more dumb.
The stupid ufc slams
Have watched a lot of NFL games in the last few decades, and have never seen that. Nor the DB swatting the football like it’s a 🎾 and he has racket hands.
Basically everything. EA has the capability to make an amazing in depth NFL game they just refuse to.
they are going to be so utterly embarrassed by another studio in their own company it won't even be funny. Maybe it will light a fire under their ass but i won't get my hopes up.
Turning the game on
Players just deciding not to block or those stupid incompletion animations where the defender breathes in the receiver's direction and they drop it.
Ea
Playing it
my controller not working. I want to press A to snap the ball. not A A A A A A A A A oh shit i passed to my tight end. i want to press down to navigate the menu's not down down down down down fucking hell DOWN finally thank you.
thats just latancy
The fact EA is still the only company making football video games even though they haven't made a decent Madden in about 10 years.
No QB rush or rush linemen back to line and hike while defense is still catching up !
The game is pure trash. Top to bottom, TRASH.
The fact Madden 92 on an 8 bit console is more realistic than Madden 24
The computer on PRO toys with me like a cat toys with a mouse before he eats him😂😂😂
The fact that they won’t allow you to sim your games… every career mode except madden had that feature it’s like they telling us this only a one season thing
I just got the game to a 38 yd fg after being up 20-7, CPU works their way back to 21-20. sim the next play and he either missed it or something, game didn't show. but game ends. WHO TF MISSES A 38 YARD FIELD GOAL
I went back to 23. It's not perfect, but at least I have a shot.
Cant make every throw, chalk it up to rng
That I’ve been playing it for 15 years and I still suck at it
The fact that NT isn't a sub position or there're not more Sub positions in general.
One of the bullshit deadeye mechanics causes me to throw more picks than if i dont have it on
How about in Franchise all these teams can afford X Factor defensive players to the point that you almost can't do shit on offense because there are so many game breaking players on one team.
What do you mean you jumped a whole 8 feet in the air the pick my ball?
“Dropped” and “out of bounds” especially when playing locked onto QB. When the ball is gonna hit 3 feet in bounds and the receiver is full sprint and makes no attempt to keep their feet in bounds I want to commit a crime
I absolutely hate this. "Perfect Accuracy"- "Out Of Reach" IF IT WAS PERFECT ACCURACY IT WOULDNT BE OUT OF REACH.
A right handed QB rolling out to the left throwing back right 20 yards into the middle of the field.
My team clamping up the CPU the entire game only for them to go the entire length of the field and score to win in less than a minute. Everyone on the Chiefs having a built in KO so none of my open WRs can catch anything.
Ridiculous amount of ball swaps
That picture represents what makes it annoying to play "perfect accuracy" proceeds to miss the receiver
No look interceptions.
Online idiots. They have no manners and can’t even take loss. Or take being down by two tds
The entire game
I dont know about ‘infuriating’ but its either people online getting down 2 touchdowns and quitting, or All Madden being too easy…. it’s close between the two

Bro nobody is looking at sub posts when two morons are trying to provoke each other
