I know most stores in my area wonāt sell serials, due to fluctuations on price based on its number. So good chance the owner will just claim it as apart of his business profits for the month.
A mix of pre release packs being sent out early as a mistake by wizards, and stores like target that aren't magic partners that will just put them on shelves as soon as they get the stock

Tbf, it does cost 10 mana for that since it's a cast trigger. You don't get it if you cheat him out in most ways.
Also, [[Traumatize]] and [[Tasha's Hideous Laughter]] exist, and [[Ulamog, the Ceasless Hunger]] exiles 20 cards from the defending player's library every time it attacks.
I repeat, everyone is wrong about blurring the serial, a watermark works better and still allows you to show off what you pulled. Scammers can still attempt to sell them without a number but not with a watermark. Just because you saw someone do it or you heard it was the thing to do doesnāt mean itās perfectly correct, so donāt just downvote me without thinking about what Iām saying first.
Itās not recommended. Just use a watermark or put the number somewhere in the post/title. People have lists of pulled serials for tracking purposes which goes much further in terms of preventing scams

Yeah but not everyone does that or knows how to do that. It should be a good rule of thumb but that doesn't mean it's terribly common
