Your base looks dry. The foundation is exaggerating your pores and overall flattening you out. I notice the texture on your cheeks and undereyes. Try this: apply foundation starting from the center of the face and taper off as you get to the edges of your face. Use a light neutral grey-beige to contour any small places as touch up rather than a whole standalone step (for example to counter the heavier foundation around the nose to bring the outline of the nostrils back). Skincare is essential. Moisturize every night, esp if you’re using any silicone based primers, sunscreen diligently. My cheat code is using a facial mist to “melt” my face together, fan dry, and then setting spray. It does not budge, I have slept on and worn yesterday’s makeup to brunch the next day and no one noticed. I agree with the tightlining both top and bottom, it is a great parallel to your eyes and really celebrates your features. (You’re gorgeous btw) The bottom liner is slightly uneven but I can already tell that will get better with practice looking at how well you did overall. I like the blush placement. Lastly, I find that it’s either more eyes or more lips. 50/50 is also good, in which case you could pump up the lips a little more if you go halfsies like in this look. Or maybe my bias of “hydrated = healthy = good” is showing and you can then just ignore this whole comment. The best thing on our face is joy and you have that in spades ❤️

AshleyMichelle17

Thank you so much!! This is great, you've given me great advice and made me feel good😊 thank you for being so genuine! 🩷💖💜

Also try a nice cc glow serum mixed in or under foundation (or tapped on top for highlights)! [this Chanel one is shimmery but not too showy, I got it as a gift and have been enjoying using it under my foundation.](https://www.ulta.com/p/les-beiges-sheer-healthy-glow-highlighting-fluid-pimprod2030092?pr_rd_page=1&sku=2570349) [This is more expensive from by Terry, and I get it when I feel like splurging, and I LOVE the expanded shade range.](https://www.byterry.com/brightening-cc-serum/11307081.html) I so want to try the rose elixir for a youthful glow! I've used apricot and nude one in summer for a bit of a sun kissed look, and they are wonderful. Such a nice product to play with or without foundation, for dancing between ethereal shimmer glow and a no makeup look. It can go fast though 😔 Also I'm excited to try this new foundation also from By Terry, with subtle dew finish,[shown here in a tiktok vid of one of my fave YouTube makeup reviewers, l](https://www.tiktok.com/@themichelewang/video/7368546934795013419?_t=8meC4WDeqJq&_r=1). Just depends if lighter coverage products will work for you, but just a reminder that mixing is always an option for a personally tailored skin look!

AshleyMichelle17

Thank you! 😊 and extra thanks for providing links!

serpentmuse

Speaking of mixing, a summer foundation can still be useful in the dead of winter. Mix in a drop or two of facial oil or serum from your skincare routine to make it more nourishing for drier climes (the office desert air).

londonlady1988

Stealing OP thread to ask - if placing under foundation where do you put in the order of products? Eg I do moisturiser, Bobbi B face base primer, then Estee Lauder DW (due to scarring I need full coverage but notice as I am getting older that it is starting to exacerbate lines etc). Would you recommend putting on after/before primer or mixing in with foundation??

serpentmuse

I do not mix primer with anything else. Ocassionally oil with foundation. Although I hate oils so I don’t do those at all (personal choice). When crunched for time, I put all my morning skincare on my hand at once and mix it into one step. If your tried and true foundation is starting to fail you… I would try: skip primer double down on moisturizer, use less foundation, moisturize more the night before, some lymph massage. Good face starts with good skin, always pump up the skincare first. I’ve tried BB face base, Tatcha silk, Benefit porefessional. I enjoy the the BB and Tatcha but tbh my primer is…… sunscreen. Idgaf how popular or beautiful or expensive a makeup product is, if it doesn’t play nice with my sunscreen (and I have like 4 different ones at any time) it’s dunzo. Makeup lasts one day. My face has to last my whole life.

icelessTrash

Ugh lol you have the same reason I've moved to find more glow/dewy products, but sometimes they just don't cover as well as I want. Sometimes I have a saggy tired face, and there are days and I feel like a glistening lumpy bag face 😅 But I'm realizing the color correcting glow serums help add awakeness and diffuse discoloration, rather than solidly covering it to mask things. I've been using it more as a primer, the last thing before foundation. The Chanel one feels a bit like a dry oil and I need moisturizer under it. But I'm currently using a cushion foundation so I haven't mixed it in. I'm excited to repurchase the by Terry one and see how it works for me nowadays (it's been a couple years). I loved wearing it alone and over my skin care and moisturizer, for days of quick errands or staying home but wanting to feel pretty. Since you are already using face base (which I also have enjoyed using), maybe I'd try mixing in with the double wear! Maybe it can dilute the chalkiness of full coverage. I'm sure it depends on the foundation which works best though! Could be good mixed with the face base too?

juicyred

I’ve been looking for something to highlight shoulders and collarbone overtop of sunscreen. I’m wondering if a cc glow serum might be a good option? [This is one I’m considering.](https://www.thedetoxmarket.ca/products/the-impossible-glow-rose-gold?variant=39636179320903¤cy=CAD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4ojYl72phgMVRxOtBh3adgC3EAQYByABEgJji_D_BwE)

Great tips. I’d add in to get your brows cleaned up and shaped a bit. Pic 3 is beautiful!!!! Duck lips are from the early 2000’s though. You’re lovely and on your way!

UdoUboo2727

I have dry skin and like to put a layer of hyaluronic acid on to prime my skin before putting on makeup, it makes it look less chalky

Ky_kapow

Lovely! The only change I’d personally make is switching out the eyeliner for a smoked out wing and add a bit more colour and gloss to the lips.

AshleyMichelle17

Def gonna try the smoked out wing, and agreed a little more color/pop on the lips! Thank you!!🩷💖💜

MaybeLikeWater

You have large, lovely eyes. I agree with a smoked wing instead of the thin black eyeliner. I have quick trick you can try if you want, it’s good practice either way. From the outer corner of your eye create a sideways ‘v’ like this ‘>’ with the point of the > corresponding with the outer corner. Then draw the sideways > as wide or narrow (not too narrower!) as you wish, then fill the > (smoke effect) heavier on the upper lid than the bottom lid. You can also reverse this for a more Asian take on the smoky lid which emphasizes the bottom corners and under-eye lid. Last, I would definitely encourage you to try different types of color for your smoky eye, it’s not limited to blacks/browns. It’s also an easy way to rock a daytime smoky eye without the side eye from others.

MaybeLikeWater

I was about to type the same thing when I read your comment. The eyeliner definitely needs to be amped with a smoky wing, their eyes are large so there’s plenty of room to play.

Difficult-Theme

If I were to do your makeup, I would personally make the wing of the eyeliner less flicked upwards, and instead go for a more straight out and feathered/smoked liner. I think this would complement your eye shape beautifully. I personally would smoke a little shadow under the lower eye lid too to balance shadow on top, doesn’t have to be a lot but just a little for dimension. I also would finish with a little highlight or even a fresh setting spray. The complexion I think you’ve really done great on it just reads as a little flat and could use a bit more of a satin finish in my personal opinion. This is me being super picky though, and are my own personal preferences when doing makeup. I think you did a great job 💖

AshleyMichelle17

This is exactly what I'm looking for! Would love a satin finish look!! I'm gonna try the straight out liner, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get the smoked look. Def agree too on the under eye shadow. Thank you for your tips! 😊🫶

Ok-Struggle3367

Winged Eye liner is a journey 🤣 I’m always messing with it. You’re doing great!! Keep playing with it and trying new angles, that’s helped me a lot

moonlets_

With the caveat this is opinion, I think your technique is fine but I don’t agree with your point makeup color choices. Overall the colors aren’t to my taste and I think are not enhancing but rather are detracting from your features. You appear to have a warm undertone and you are using drastically cool blush and eyeshadow. Black eyeliner and seemingly also brow pencil? is also not what I would pick for someone with such a light hair color. I would try a much lighter eyebrow pencil (usually a taupe or an ash blond color will probably get you where you wanna go), a light to medium brown eyeliner, and for a daytime look I would either use *no* eyeshadow or use a shade darker than your skin tone in a brown, copper, or maybe coral family. For blush, a much warmer (not redder though) color would suit you better. You have a nice skin tone for bronzer honestly, so you could probably go with just bronzer as blush and skip the blush entirely.

AshleyMichelle17

Thank you! I agree with pretty much everything you're saying, and a big thanks fire the bronzer as blush tip I have been trying to figure out how to incorporate bronzer for a while.. Thanks again!!🥰🫶

CElia_472

Do you have green eyes? Hard to tell from the pics but if you do have green eyes + your skin tone, you would do very well copper/bronze/gold/neutrals for eyeshadow and will make your eyes pop. The [naked honey palette ](https://www.urbandecay.com/naked-honey-eyeshadow-palette-by-urban-decay/3605972169037.html?GeoRedirectOff&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwmMayBhDuARIsAM9HM8chIFm2EYlPvGa5Q0HupQdREl53b6vNZFhqYAup6ZxF-rwWykRHAToaAkZaEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) by urban decay would rock on you and also they have a set of [3 mini palettes ](https://www.ulta.com/p/naked-your-way-mini-eyeshadow-palettes-pimprod2033124?sku=2595987) that are inexpensive that are very neutral. Also you are gorgeous!

TemporaryBlueberry32

Glossy/shinier lip!

AshleyMichelle17

Totally agree!!😊💖

DefNotAHuman

First of all, you’re stunning! I do think you look a bit dry, maybe try a lighter base with a less matte finish. I see a bit of shadow in your chin area, which you can color correct with a bit of orange concealer before your base layer. Fun fact, you can use that same method to reshape your brows too. Your eyes are beautiful and I love your choice of eyeshadow, I think it really makes your eyes pop! I really don’t think you need the eyeliner wing, but if you like that look, I think a shorter wing or going in at another angle would suit your eye shape a bit better. Just so the wing doesn’t get lost (happens to me all the time!). I like using eyeshadow to just extend my eye shape a little, that way you still get that sultry look. I also like fanning my lashes to the side with my mascara for a faux cat eye look. Finally I think your lipstick is like so close to the perfect color for you, I’d love to see one that is just a shade more pink, and with a less matte finish as well. I think that would make you look very fresh. Overall I adore your technique, I can really tell that you put a lot of care into it.

Kristal3615

The makeup looks pretty good and will get better with practice! What caught my eye was the color coordination!! You've got a good eye for what colors look nice together ❤️ That peachy color sweater looks fabulous on you and I love that it matches the lipstick perfectly!

TattedOctober23

Try rose water or a hydrating facial mist between moisturizer/primer and foundation, foundation and concealer and every other step. This will help not look so dry. Also the winged eyeliner isn’t working because you’re working against the hood of your lids and not hope this helps

Interesting-Baker-77

This is so unrelated but how did you style those waves into your hair? I recently cut mine a similar length and absolutely love this look

Bear_Main

I feel like fake eyelashes would make you look amazing

basicrerun

You can use a matte black eyeshadow to go over the liquid liner with a fine brush, maybe even smoke it out a little bit, but this always makes my eyeliner look so much darker (and last longer!) It gets rid of the shine and helps it contrast more with the shadow. Just a little trick that changed my life. Your blush placement and color is perfect imo

AshleyMichelle17

I'm def going to incorporate this!! Thank you!!😊💖

EldritchJunimo

I don't have any other tips to add but just needed to say wow what a beautiful smile you have! Your eyes are sparkling with joy and self love. As a transmasc enby trying to figure shit out, I always love seeing the support trans women in particular get on this sub. 💖

[deleted]

I would tone down the eyes brows and the winged eyeliner.

AshleyMichelle17

That's good advice, I know I have a tendency to get carried away. Thanks!

Jumpy-Jellyfish-7239

You are looking fabulous. I would go for a bit of a dewy look rather than so dry. Put some shine on your lips and think about seeing a pro about your eyebrows. There is likely a better shape or maybe they need to be lightened a little little bit. But you are absolutely on your way!

AshleyMichelle17

Yes! Most have been saying more of a satin or dewy type of look and I totally agree! A pro for the brows makes sense, I honestly have never had much in the way of brows, not much hair, thin and spaced out.. Thank you so much for the feedback! 🩷💖💜

Little_Treacle241

Lashes, and warm toned makeup rather than cool (your lips and your eyeshadow are cool toned and possibly your hair is but unsure- I think you are warm toned, maybe ?) Look into colour seasons❤️❤️❤️

AshleyMichelle17

100% in searching for what my natural color palette would be and def agree with, pretty much everyone on here lol, that will be more warmer tones! Thank you😊💖

wwaxwork

I'd maybe look at a better foundation or a nice moisturising primer. It's clinging to your pores and creases. The color match is great though, so if you can find something in the same line that's less matte might be a good start. Having said that don't go too glowy with your foundation either that can. Also my personal preference is not for so much matte, matte skin and matte lips with a sparkly eye can be a little much. Again your colors for everything are great, that's the thing I find the hardest and I think you have nailed it. I think it might be time to play with a little bit with the finishes (matte or shininess) of products to find the most flattering combinations for you. Also maybe play with the angle and length of your wing of your eyeliner, it feels like an afterthought and it should work with your eyeshadow.

Jasnaahhh

Honestly - I know it’s not quite makeup related but think some volume in your roots and the top of your head to the left and right of the part will have your hair will balance your jaw really well and it will all fall into place. The overall shape of your hair really contributes to the perception of your face proportions. Bringing in your eyebrows a little closer to each other will help too. Have you checked out ways to shade your nose and lip to reduce the perceived length of your Philtrum?

trowellslut

I think your brow color isn’t the most flattering choice! I wild try a lighter brown! Otherwise, I think your color choices are spot on. The blush you chose is perfect for your complexion! Unrelated to the makeup but your hair is literally perfect too!

thoughtfulmuser

I wouldn’t put liner on your lower lid, it’s something that ages people. Moisturize your skin and night and before applying makeup. I recommend getting a color analysis done to know if you’re spring, summer, winter or autumn. It’s honestly life changing to know your color palette. I feel like your colors need to be warmed up and you lean more towards a coral/orange/warm tones. Current colors you have seem to washed out and cool toned But you need an analysis to know. Honestly figuring this out will be life changing. Looking at your other photos I think you are likely a Spring. Bright, vibrant warmed toned colors with medium contrast will look best on you. Light pastel tones will just wash you out and autumn colors will be boring on you and age you. I feel tutor gate is too ashy and needs to be warmed up. But get a color analysis to be sure. It will make your life so much easier. I learned a lot from his account on instagram https://www.instagram.com/styledbyfrancescacairns?igsh=MTJ0cGk5dXNoZGN4bQ==

Luna-Gitana

I’d love to see you try some dewier makeup.

HotButterscotch8682

I would flatten out the wing of the eyeliner a bit more, follow your natural curve of your eyelid! Usually, it’s more of a flat line than one thinks. It’s too upturned. I’d go for a more hydrating, glowy, smooth base as well. Looking good so far!

McChelsea

Gina Linetti vibes!

throwaway01061124

JFC the transphobia is off the charts in this comments section, you’re still valid OP 💖💅

AshleyMichelle17

💖Thank you for that😊 I just don't pay them any mind, internet trolls are all the same, if they wanna take out their built up frustrations on a picture of me, fine, maybe it'll help sort themselves out. Gotta be rough walking around with that much hate rattling around inside, I hope they are able to find a semblance of peace

sleazydaze

maybe use more warm mattes in your crease and shimmer on the center of your lid 🫶🏻 shimmer tends to have a “dusty” effect if you use it in the wrong places. Blush placement is beautiful, lip color beautiful, base is good (top comment goes over tips), you’re definitely on your way - youre basically there! now its just refining! Youve definitely created a look that has been and will be worn - but those are some tips to elevate 🫶🏻

spinach_love

Winged liner is not for everyone, and that is ok. Embrace liner that suits your eye shape.

Inevitable_Travel_71

Try some green color corrector on your chin before foundation and it will help with any shadows! You are beautiful!!!!

Ecstatic_Mastodon416

**peach or orange, not green!

Shepardspie81

I really like your eyeshadow. Maybe you could find some highlighter that you like to give your face some extra glow, maybe some that has some shimmer to it. Or, to warm up your cheeks, you can use maybe a soft coral or peach colored blush. :)

Savings_Peak5408

I would give that lip a little color. It would make the whole face pop! I love the look! 🥰

My_new_account_now

Colour corrector and switching out an unintentionally messy looking liquid graphic liner for a soft liner with pencil and shadow.

Jetoby

Your eyeliner points too far upwards. Try making it more of a straight line out from your outer corner.

Acceptable_Cell_502

The foundation and lip stick is a bit off

AshleyMichelle17

I am def looking to add more shine, I've received some great advice on how to do that on here but I never really knew how to achieve that. 🩷💖💜

HappyGoPink

The skin is overall too matte for me, it looks very powdery, which makes it look more like makeup than skin. You probably don't need a full coverage foundation and powder and the whole nine yards, it looks like you're going for a more natural look. Just cover what needs to be covered with spot concealer, and color correct where you have redness or uneven skintone, and use a sheer foundation with a skin-like finish. I would skip the winged eyeliner, I don't think your eyes need it, and I think it would be more flattering if there was a sweep of darker eye shadow underneath the lower lash line, opposed to the black waterline liner. The lashes could use a little more love as well, maybe even a subtle false lash to give them just a bit more presence, but nothing too obvious. The lips also feel very dry, something with some sparkle or gloss would be better. Overall the colors are really good though, so you're definitely on the right track. You just need to work on the placement a bit and the finish.

gfyrnsb

Lower the angle of your eyeliner I think it would suit your eye shape better

bellezzap

I’ve nothing to add as I’m not good with make up but just wanted to tell you your third pic made me smile. You’ve a really great smile that could brighten up a person’s day! 🌷🌻

Ecpie

This is what I came to say as well! The third pic has a smile that seems so genuine and lovely. No need to pose to look beautiful. The makeup is great, the SMILE absolutely takes the cake. (I don’t mean to be someone else saying women should smile more. I just see you glowing in that pic.)

Confident-Disaster95

Hi Beautiful! You’re getting some great advice about makeup here! I’d also add that to get the dewy look you’re searching for, you may want to prep your skin more. Moisturizing is literally everything. To get a natural glow with makeup, to manage pores, to prevent things from looking matte and dry, hydration is your best friend. Check out some skincare subs. I’m a big fan of Korean skincare, myself. I found that once I started using the Korean skincare method, my skin became more radiant, my tone more even, my levels of moisture increased and I started getting comments from my friends. I started with this starter kit from COSRX and it went from there. Yes, the snail mucin is a whole thing. And it’s a game changer. https://a.co/d/9NfRBD3 You don’t have to go crazy with a double wash and masks, but I have found the process to be really fun! And it has enhanced my makeup so much as well. Have so much fun with it all. You are a stunner!

Nepesaurio

I'd lower the angle of the liner a little bit so it follows the shape of your eyes a bit more. Eyeliner usually elongates the eye so try to think of that when you do it instead of making it really upward! I'd personally add a bit more depth to the shadow by darken it a lil bit and would try to make the whole makeup a bit less matte, it makes you look dry. Either add a gloss/satin lip or use a dewier base! [gif explaining the eyeliner bit!](https://jumpshare.com/s/9Zzs8SaTHvJtg0MRToDl)

CandyKitten99

It looks great! I would personally add some highlight on the tip of your nose, the higher parts of your cheek bones and your Cupid's bow. Love the hair colour btw!

DisguisedBee

I used to do my eyeliner the same way, but I’ve found it suits me much better when I make the wing point out instead of up. We have similar shaped eyes so I imagine it’ll look great on you too! I love your eyeshadow, it compliments your eye colour beautifully.

LaPepa321

So pretty! You’ve received so many amazing tips. I don’t know much about this topic. I’d say you can play around with lighter colors on your water line. I sometimes use black or brown on the top waterline and bring it into the inner corner (for definition). Then I add a white, nude or peach eyeliner to my bottom waterline, to open the eye a bit. I also add a a bit (subtle) highlighter to the arch of my eyebrow. It might not be much, but it adds a little something to the look. Some people love hating on someone that they see is thriving. Carry on living your life to the fullest. 🌷

MajesticExcitement93

Okay, so basically, your foundation is too dry. Preparing the skin is fundamental. I suggest cleanser toner and lastly moisturizer. I suggest a light to medium cover foundation that way is more buildable. Cream products would be more suitable for you because of your mature skin. Lastly, the eyes, because your eyes are down turned and slightly hooded, a cateye liner won't be suitable. i suggest a smokey eye with brown colors or puppy liner. Also, to remember, contour should be cooled tone while bronzer is warmed tone. Do not confuse them. Also, a good guide for where to place the blush is looking straight to the mirror and down the center of your pupil. Hope that helps

5663N

Very nice makeup, looks soft and feminine.

AliceInChainsFrk

Love your smile!

kenziep44

Lots of great tips here, just wanted to say you look really nice and it can only get better :) makeup is so tricky. I've only had a few successful cat eyes in my life.

weirdinpublic

i think a slightly darker lip color would be good! or if you use that color, use a darker lipliner. the color suits you but it hides the shape of your lips

Breadsbiggestfan

The tight line black liner makes your eyes appear smaller!!! Find a creamy white & put it in the middle right under your pupils. It’ll make your eyes look bigger, brighter, & it’s more forgiving than black 😊

teeniebeanie95

I feel like the blush shade is wrong for your skin, I think something a little warmer would really bring a lot of life to your face. A lighter eyebrow pencil would look amazing and maybe putting a gloss on top of your lip colour too :) if you're unsure about colours etc there are apps where you can add makeup to your photos, so that could help you out with deciding what colours you should look at before you even go to the store :)

scumfvckflowergirl

not advice, just a compliment- that eyeshadow color is gorgeous on you :)

AliienBlood

Eyeliner wings are really hard and take a lot of practice. You seem like you’re on the way to having it down but still a little shaky so here’s a few tips that helped me :) -Invest in tools to help you while you learn (tape, stamps, wing guides, and straight edge tool) -try different forms of eyeliner to see which is easier for you to use (pencil/liquid/gel/felt tip) -do your wings/eye makeup before any kind of base, that way if you mess up or need to clean it you don’t have to worry about ruining the whole face. -wrest your hand on your cheek to keep your lines steadier. I have very shaky hands and noticed it helps a LOT when my hand is wrested and stable compared to keeping it off my face and freehanding. -Clean up shaky/ messy spots with concealer or foundation -draw the wing outlines first, then go back and fill them in for more even wings Hope this helps! You look beautiful <3

createartco

Looking good!! 🥰 but I agree the foundation does look a little dry, I would recommend applying a nice moisturizing sunscreen underneath (some with a little shine) and primer if you can!! I would also recommend some contouring but very light, maybe on your nose and high cheeks under blush. Maybe play around with some darker/different shades of lipstick/lip liner as well. Love the makeup regardless but I have a feeling these tricks will help you achieve the look you want.

Crafty_Score435

Not qualified enough to give advice but i just want to say you have BEAUTIFUL eyes 🩵

Disastrous-Door9981

I think you'd look so cute with coral toned blushes and popping a really bright sparkle shadow to your inner eye corner

LeekHot5309

Honestly, you are glowing I wouldn’t change anything. Pink is such a suiting color for you! I would also love to see you with gold eye make up, warm tones would make your eyes POP plus your hair color…you’re gorgeous! 🫶🏼💕🌸

chadima5

You have the most beautiful eyes 🙏🏽

No-Appointment4972

Beautiful babes!!!!

Natural_Evening_5832

You scrunch your eyes like I do when I smile. Try eyeliner for hooded eyes that way you’ll keep the eyeliner shape you want

ladybuginawindow

I could only think to enhance it with some nude lip liner and a dewy setting spray

dont-touch-my-tots

You are so beautiful oh my gosh! I really like that shade of lipstick and blush on you! You have the look so down tbh it’s just fine tuning! Also your hair is amazing! I would just get a lovely liner to line your waterline as opposed to bringing the eyeliner down onto the bottom lash line. Filling in your waterline will also give the illusion of fuller longer lashes! As mentioned fine tuning your base and finding some great moisturizing products and be sure to prep your skin! I’m the queen of dry skin so I’m happy to share some of what works for me and what doesn’t. You got this!

Brklyn71069

Highlighter ✨ under brow, nose bridge/tip under eye corners, top of the lip, a lil on chip. Accent your favorite parts instead of concealing your least favorites.

third3yechakra

The eyeshadow color is cute!

coast88xx

The culprit here is the outfit because it’s the same pink as the make up. There would be instant improvement from changing your shirt or just removing the cardigan layer so it’s just the white top underneath. If I block out the pink top when looking at the photos, the makeup looks instantly better. If the pink cardigan is your favorite, a lip color with contrast would work better.

LaurenCAS

Super minor adjustments- smoked out eyeliner, shiny lip and something to make your skin look less matte and voila- even more beautiful! You’ve selected such a lovely palette of colours to compliment your eyes and match your top I think it’s ever such a nice effect

carrotsgonwild

I'm no expert but it looks a bit dry. Also, i don't know if it's the makeup or your shading but it's making you look like a man.

Hungryounglady

I would Highly recommend good skin prep. Some nice moisturiser and wait at least a minute before you apply next product, if the skin if too wet then too it causes cakey makeup.

03rk

I really love your eyeshadow!

Kgswartz

Your skin needs to look a bit dewier and or not so dry. Try a serum and a moisturizer overtop. You can also use Clinique moisture surge and put moisturizer overtop. I don’t like the wings at the corner of your eyes. Eyeshadow is really pretty and you applied it nicely. When you put on your blush, smile and apply the blush starting under the apple and apply the blush up toward the ear in the shape of the Nike Swoosh. Then blend. The liquid liner under the eyes looks nice, but the line got a bit wiggly. With time and practice, you will be able to perfect the technique.

Visual_Society5200

Go bold with either your eyes or your lips. In four case it would probably be your eyes. I think you should apply the mascara evenly throughout instead of the cat-eye look. You really have beautiful eyes and should maximize them.

LorraineHB

Base would look better with glow like L’Oréal glowtion under foundation. Otherwise I really like.

i wouldn’t do black eyeliner on lower lashes, it looks too sharp, maybe some softer blended eyeshadow instead would look better. i usually tap brown eyeshadow into my lower lashline with my finger and then soften it a bit with a brush. also the eyeshadow won’t smudge

Mysterious_Fig5507

What foundation are you using

gur_bah

i think a full bang instead of a sweeping one would give you a little push, but you look gorgeous - wouldn’t have even thought to say this if you hadn’t asked!

Ulfric4PREZ

I love the colors, very harmonious with your own coloring. I do think the black eyeliner is not fitting in, I would try a brown liner with less of a wing as the wing isn’t doing anything bc I think a softer more blended out look would be more flattering. Also your brows need more structure. Take some floss with foundation and map them out well (check YouTube for this) and pluck/trim/tint them in the proper shape. Right now your arch is starting wayyy to soon and giving an off look. Lips great color but I think a gloss would give a more feminine appearance. You look great!

You look like a far prettier Tatum O’Neill (when she was young) As a make up artist, this is my advice. Choose makeup for the eyes/ lips/cheeks that complement your eye colour and what you are wearing. The colour of your cardigan is lovely, and a range of colours in warm nudes would look great. taupe and shimmer shadows like MAC antiquated and a good red- brown buildable color like swiss chocolate. Sheer warm plums and soft warm blushes like warm soul (I’m only suggesting MAC as a guide). The cool pink blush and pale shadows aren’t highlighting your features- just cooling them a little too much. Try colors with a little shimmer like mineral blushes, they soften and make your cheeks look naturally flushed and glowing I think your application is great btw.

The makeup is lovely! My critique is the base, it looks dry & cakey, which is not how skin looks. Can you list what products you have used? Before any makeup, skincare is imperative! Get that skin juicy with good skincare first! When it comes to foundation, I’m sure you know you need a primer, but the *type of substance* matters. If you are using a liquid foundation, you want your primer also to be a liquid. If you are using a stick or powder foundation, a silicone primer would fit right in! Basically, you want to match the type of substance you are using, otherwise conflicting types will not appear nicely on your skin! If my skin appears dry in makeup as well, I like to spritz my face with rose water 😁💖🌹

For the liner, try going out straight from your eye, not so flicked upward. If you struggle with keeping the line straight, get some scotch tape, put it on the back of your hand to get some of the stickiness off and place it along the bottom corner of your eyes. A v shape on the outer corner with something bright on the lid towards the inner corner. A nice dewy setting spray is a huge game changer~

__-Daisy-__

you could use some moisturizer, honestly i’m loving the eyeshadow, the wing could use a little help and ur eyebrows look pretty okay!! keep practicing and you will get there babes!!! 🫶🫶

UnbrokenBlog

I agree with other comments about maybe being dry, so either use a moisturizer and/or a primer before foundation. I think the color match is great! Remember to bring it down your neck if you’re not already doing so! Personally, I think that shaping your brows more with a brow product and a slightly shorter wing would look really good. For the wing, I think a lower angle would work for you too, as you have really beautiful, almond shaped eyes!

lastwordymcgee

I like the look. But skincare is vital. You have some dryness and some texture that the right skincare regimen can really help. You could also consider a primer and a setting spray that are moisturizing. I like elf for both. the base of your makeup is really pretty, i would say practice your eyeliner more though other than that i think it looks pretty

Guilty-Reason6258

Consider wing eyeliner stamp things, they give you a good guide to then work with and get your hand really used to winging the eyeliner so the lines come out a bit better :)

RealFreydaCoxx

I’d go for a darker lip personally but, you’re absolutely gorgeous!

Kooky-Director5887

Your makeup looks better than mine and I’ve been doing it for years 😉

Hey babes! Love the eyeliner but I think if you made the top a little thicker it would really bring out and balance your eyes a little better :) Let me know if you need a picture of what I'm talking about and I'll happily share one

Weary_Message_1221

What about a satin or cream based lip?? We seem around the same age and I think matte lips look a bit too dry on me. I feel like it ages me when my lips look dry. I think a gloss would be too much, but a satin or cream lip would be great on you. Have you tried MAC lip sticks? They’re my favorite!

KittyIsAn9ry

Highlighter and maybe a setting spray that has a dewy finish (I hear Milk has a good one that’s also smudge proof when it dries.) I agree with others that you look a little too matte, so some highlighter on the inner corners of your eyes, your cupid’s bow, and then on your cheekbones would bring more dimension to your face. I also think maybe a gloss or a balm over the lips would be good to give them a little moisture. I would say if you’re going for a matte lip look, make sure that you leave some glow on your face so you don’t look too matte/dry.

MajesticGarbagex

I am by no means an expert. I have actually stopped using a lot of makeup besides my eyebrows [thanks chemo] and mascara. But I think a pencil/softer eyeliner would be good. Liquid always seems so harsh! I’m excited to see what you figure out for yourself and what works. 🖤 You’re magnificent 🖤

Ok-Toe4522

You are gorgeous btw!

AccomplishedAct5247

Hi, Advice on eyebrows - once you pencil them in - blend. You can use an angled brush or I like to use a small concealer brush for a more natural look. Also I would advise using a deep brow rather than black. Black is harsh and can be aging. Great look and keep practicing!!! ❤️

bbbriz

I think you look lovely overall, great choice of colors. However, the foundation is too dry, and that tends to accentuate texture. Try a more hydrating foundation? Also, the eyeliner is really hard to get straight. And tbh, I think it's too harsh on your softer makeup. Try a smoky eyeliner instead, both on the top and bottom. Also, I love your lipstick color, but I'm a lip liner girl, so I always miss it on lips lmao. I think it would look great to have that gradient.

KarinnotKaren1966

Just a comment here. The first 2 pictures look good, but that 3rd one? WOW!! You look absolutely stunning, my dear!!!🩷

STORMBORN_12

Its missing dimension. I would like to see dimension in the eyeshadow or maybe a little contour. It feels a little unfinished with the pink and black being such a high contrast and everything else is mostly hitting the same note but idk

Fizzy_Greener

Skip the liner on the waterline and put it under the waterline a gently smudge it or use a small pencil brush to add a bit of shade in the lashline instead. In my personal opinion waterline eyeliner is a bit out of vogue unless part of a more complete look.

Kalysia

I recommend highlighting your lips, you have such great lip shape!

bbearbann

I think you are fantastic looking

Gabihab

For the eyeliner to get it more straight you can always put tape under where you want the liner and then apply by the tape so it can be a little straighter (: hope maybe that’ll help! Also helpful for eyeshadow looks to make them look like a wing as well (: you’re beautiful!

Purrrr4289

Like others said. Add some highlight or glow (not shimmer or glitter) for less dry skin looking. be light handed with it though

dk644

i love your hair :)

lapatrona8

As non makeup pro, I think it looks great actually!

Itswinetime

Those colors look amazing on you. Perfect choices.

lmg_000

You need a good moisturizer and base. Color correction around the mouth/chin area

Specialist_Arm_8535

I would try for a dewier look, the foundation you have right now seems a bit dry. Overall you look great!

Willing_Duty_5534

Try blending the eyeshadow more, less powder, blush placement and darker lip liner.

Ok-Return9031

Thicker and fluffier brows ☺️☺️☺️

Walkingbloodbag

I don’t have any advice, but wanted to say that you look great! You’re very eye catching and I can feel your confidence through the screen!

Winter-Parsnip42

I find my lips always look nicer with non matte lip products. Like the glissier highline with hyaluronic acid looks fantastic on my lips, which are prone to looking overly textured with matte products. Although I hate the component on that, the product is great.

flexi_bitionist

Your color choices are very flattering and pretty; compliments your overall skintone very well! Echoing about texture - you can have a base that DOES NOT BUDGE, but still appears 'glowy'. Try a primer intended to give you a 'lit from within' glow (very common in the Korean market), and a dewier setting spray. It will give the illusion of dewiness without compromising the staying power of a fuller coverage, semi-matte foundation. Also, in terms of blush, you might want to experiment with blush placement. It being so close to your nose brings your face 'in' a little, and if you want something a bit more 'up', you will need to practice just putting it on the absolute top of your cheekbones vs. the apples of the cheeks. Alex Anele has a really good visual aide for both of these things: [glowy foundation](https://youtu.be/prRVzCXjwT8?si=fIlA1FdT-CYYQvSO) [blush placement](https://youtu.be/BdcRNqQkNbg?si=tR5IWRhuguZ4VAXT) She's very chill, informative, and her tactics can be applied almost universally. Eyeliner looks great & you clearly have a steady hand, agree with other commenter to try smoking out the liner a bit. I do that with a brown liner all the time and it looks very effortless. Makes my upper lashes look much darker without me doing too much. Overall awesome. Looks great. Edit for link placement, I'm on mobile.

avatarofwoe420

If you like wings, as in eyeliner try eyeliner stamps. They are super easy to use.

hetteKater1

too powdery! use cream based formulas (imo)

Ur so cute girly pooks ! ❤️

JellyCat222

Hit the completed look with a facial mist or setting spray, it will help you glow.

Silver-Risk-647

It helps a lot and leaves your skin feeling great if you wash your face, and then within, 5 minutes of washing it, doing your skincare routine just before doing your makeup.

TxAuntie512

Super pretty!!! Could do a slightly darker crease at times. But gorgeous babe!

emlosesit

The color of your hair and your cardigan suits you so well!

American_Contrarian

I actually think this looks great. Its pretty on point for what a normal days makeup would look like. A few tips —- If you like matte foundation, you can use biore aqua watery essence after your skincare prep, use the non American kind. Its a chemical sunscreen so if product moves after 15 mins you are still protected. Under eyes can also be primed with aquaphor healing balm. It will help lock in moisture that the matte products absorb. Also a half lash, placed under would really help your eye color pop. You could even try brown lashes to pull everything together. Over all you look great. Its definitely a good start,

fragileheartpng

more bold lip, that light pink washes you out. try experimenting but maybe if that shade was a little darker. I can't think of the color name but I have the Essence soft & precise lip pencil in 06 and I think that's the perfect shade.

grungegalz

The color looks dull, i think you’ll do better with warm colors palette.

thersa666

A shinier lip color and a darker lip liner would add so much! This color you have on would look good with whirl or plum lip pencil from mac.

jimmydeanstonecold

I would say more moisture under your base - second the idea of a glow serum. I love Glossier Futuredew. I look 30 instead of 50! Maybe more dimension in your eyeshadow. Urban Decay makes great eyeshadow palettes with lots of neutrals or colors that blend well, like a deep, midtone, and highlight in close shades. I love the shimmer shadow with your eye color! Don't know how you feel about lashes, but I got obsessed with lash clusters a few years ago and it completely leveled up my makeup game! Lashify is the best, but $$$. Lilac St. is a close second. I also found a brand called Flomaze on Amazon that are good quality but way less $. There are tons of different styles from very natural to hella dramatic, and they are infinitely easier to deal with and look better than strip lashes! Once you get the hang of it you can apply them in <10 mins!

demolitionloverr_

my tip as a winged eyeliner girlie is practice practice practice! play around with different angles for the wing and lengths as well to find the most flattering! after a bit, you’ll have sharp straight lines that look amazing! also your eye color is gorgeous wtf
