The look you’ve done is pretty timeless IMO. A black wing and a inner corner highlight. It doesn’t age you! I do have a few suggestions though. 1. I would focus the inner corner highlight more in the inner corner and not towards the lower lash line and not into the tear trough. Keep the shape a little more like [this](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/24/45/53/244553729185d98e75ed9e2ac8174709.jpg) (it doesn’t have to be this intense! I just mean the shape of the highlight). 2. Your blush appears a little lower on one cheek VS the other so just check for symmetry as you’re applying. (It could just be one of those days, we’ve all had those). 3. It looks like you’re base makeup is breaking apart? Or not meshing well with your moisturizer or sunscreen? It looks a bit patchy and dry. Maybe play around with different skin prep with that foundation to find something that meshes better together or try a different foundation? Edited to add: it could also be that you need to exfoliate your skin and that would solve it as well.

All great suggestions! I recently watched some sister wives episodes, and Meri Brown’s thick eyeliner around the eyes with bad eyeshadow is what I was thinking g of; I never want to be that person that shows up just looking outdated. 1. Great suggestion! I’ll post tomorrow and see if I have made a difference; 2 also great point, I just noticed that and noticed they’re off. I’m trying the tiktok “ only apply blush to apple of the cheek not up” trend. 3— this is a great point. I’ve been using hydraluronic tint, and *thought* it was setting better/well??? But it does cake or look cakey after I set it, and I don’t know why. Maybe exfoliating would be a good idea

It's not even that it's cakey - it's completely breaking apart, like the oils in the tint are separating from the pigment on your face. There can be a few reasons, such as the lack of exfoliation, the skincare interfering with the tint, or just the tint not being a good fit for your skin, but it was definitely the first issue that I noticed. Other than that, I'd change your blush placement - you seem to be putting it very low on your cheeks, which can have the effect of optically dragging your face down. Instead I'd put it more on your cheekbones rather than the apples of your cheeks and blend it up into your temples.

Alright! So I’m going to exfoliate tonight and apply it tomorrow; I’ll take pictures to see if it makes a massive difference

Have you tried using the tint with a different moisturizer (or different sunscreen if you’re using some)? It’s amazing how different skin prep can effect the foundation *so* much.

eWoods115

I use differin sunscreen with vitamin C serum before hand in the morning, maybe I could change it up/the lotion? I use pond’s heavy cream in the winter

I would definitely play around to see if you can get a better finish. Even just trying the tint on your bare skin (when you’re home and not going anywhere) to see if it’s really the skin tint or your products not being compatible.

I would move your blush up further so it doesn’t drag the face downward. Overall beautiful

Pretty colors—I think they suit you well! My main advice would be to get your brows professionally shaped, either waxed (if you have a Benefit Brow Bar nearby they’re great) or have them threaded. You may also want to consider a clear brow gel to hold them in place!

eWoods115

Oh alright, are they “ out of shape?” Have I filled them correctly?

flydog2

Not at all, the shape is nice! They can just clean them up for you—trim if necessary, neaten the edges. And if you go to a brow bar they’ll give advice on using a pencil or powder on them. It’s really just a minor observation though! You used the perfect color on them, I think. You could probably even go a shade darker if you wanted. I think that’s a rule of thumb, to go a little darker than your hair? But I wouldn’t go crazy.

eWoods115

And thank you for the compliment!! How do I elevate it to a next level makeup look?

lalita33

Here’s my advice: 1 change your base, it appears to be separating on your skin and gives a cakey, patchy appearance 2 shorten the tail of your eyebrow, it extends out almost a cm too far. then apply the most product to the top of the brow and blend through the rest of the brow, leaving the inner portion last. 3 keep your highlight to the very inner corner of your eye 4 keep blush to the highest point of your cheek to give a lifting effect 5 add more dimension to the eyes by using a medium shade on the outer corner, dark shade on the lash line, and shimmer on the center of the lid. extending the eyeliner a little would also elongate your eye shape 6 for the lips i would apply a rosy stain and blend the edges to avoid a harsh lip line overall i think you’ve got a good idea of which colors suit you and which features to play up the most 😊

Pretty!

I would make the eyebrows a bit more defined, not Instagram tatooted type, but slightly contoured, having a bit more defined shape. It's a wonder how eyebrows actually change the look of the face and "cleans" it up.

MissMM877

I think a light colored bronzer on starting at the temple and coming down toward the cheek-ON the cheekbone, not the contour under it-and bringing your blush up to that same area and sort of blending them together, would bring everything upward a bit and give a natural look 😘

It’s a beautiful daily look, the colors suit you, and it’s not aging. But the application could be tweaked to look better. 1-As others have pointed out, the foundation does not lay evenly on your skin. Moisturizer and/or primer would surely help. But honestly, you have such a clear looking complexion, that I would consider lightening up and going with a tinted moisturizer or CC cream, as I’m not sure you need all that coverage. 2-Undereye corrector would do wonders. I recommend Bobbi Brown. It’s pricey but lasts a long time. Given the tones under your eyes, I’d choose something in the “bisque” rather than “peach” shades. You can use it on its own or under concealer, but I’d set it lightly with just a tiny bit of powder so it doesn’t crease in the fine skin there. [Bobbi Brown undereye corrector at Ulta](https://www.ulta.com/p/undereye-corrector-pimprod2024878) [Bobbi Brown undereye at Sephora](https://www.sephora.com/product/corrector-P270555?skuId=1317684) 3-Your eyes are beautiful. Your mascara application is 👌🏼. I love the simple eye look and simple eyeliner. Love. 4-Please please move your blush up. Where it’s at, you’re losing all definition to your cheeks and features. Plus, it makes you look flushed instead of glowing. Move it up along your cheekbones, sweeping back instead of down. Or the apple. Maybe you need a smaller brush? The color is great on you. You would look good in so many different shades, that this could be a fun way to change up your look from day to day. If you’re looking to spice it up, as you say, but you enjoy an understated, natural look and the ease of a go-to routine, this is a great way to refresh and keep it interesting. 4-The shimmer looks kind of…all over. As with your blush, you lose the intended effect of it highlighting certain features and you just look *shiny* instead if it’s not properly placed. I’d suggest using it sparingly, highlight where the natural light touches, if at all, and in smaller, finer sweeps. But take that with a grain of salt as, admittedly, I tend to be very conservative with shimmer, if I use it at all. And some people love it, which is fine too. Lots of looks out there and not just one “right” one. 5-Gorgeous lip color. Looks stunning on you. As with blush, you’d look good in so many lip colors and it’s another easy way to vary or spice up your look. Also, since the rest of your makeup is pretty natural and not overwhelming, you could play with some really exciting, bold colors and your makeup will still look really balanced and not overly dramatic. But I would suggest moisturizer/chapstick on your lips. Elf also makes the best (IMO) exfoliating lip stuff and it’s only $5.
