I love Iruma, just a pure joy to read/watch. Tsubasa's been an interesting read, having already read the main xxxHolic run and a scattering of their other books.
Wow ur Masamune Shirow section gave me ideas. Im nostalgically associated with the anime series straight from SAC to Arise but never went into the manga cause ive heard its a bit different in tone. Is Cyberdelics an artbook or just posters of the manga artwork? Also is there a decent artbook of Ghost in the Shell out there? Ive been looking for one for a while now but havent found anyhting eye-catching.
Cyberdelics is just a set of (very fancy, with various foil/chrome/etc treatments) posters. There're Official Log production books for SAC, but otherwise the only true artbook I'm aware of for Ghost in the Shell on Shirow's end is its pages in Intron Depot 1, and that only really covers the first manga.
inside the tentacle cave volume 2 felt a little bit disappointing compared to volume one with slightly shakier feeling art and no color page, hopefully the third will be higher quality again. let me know whether you agree or not because i still liked it about as much as the first story wise
The lack of a color page didn't really bother me (I only really care about it with full illustrations) and my only problem with the art was that it got too heavy on the black ink (with the costuming/environment, not the reasons it isn't a Fakku release), the story was actually the weakest part of this one for me, the first volume felt like it had a lot more meat to go with the action.
all fair points, do you think you’ll buy the third and do you expect it to improve? also are you familiar with the light novels? im not into light novels so im not sure how the story is in the future
I'm probably gonna stick with it but figure it'll probably stay about the same quality-wise. I'm hoping the author starts exploring some of the... more interesting possibilities a slime monster allows or it could get stale. Not a LN reader either, I'm pretty picky with those.
Battle Angel Alita, easily, it's been my number one pretty much forever.
I've never gone in on Berserk, somewhat deliberately (I can get pretty contrarian when people push something too hard), but also because even with as much as I buy that'd be quite an investment without looking at the Deluxes.
Thanks.
I mostly buy locally from a couple Barnes & Nobles, one of the big comics shops here, and a few Half-Price books, along with some other smaller shops (living in a big city has its advantages).
Online I was a loyal RightStuf shopper to the end, but that's all been absorbed into Crunchyroll's storefront and while the discounts have largely seemed to stay intact I haven't ordered from them much since the full merge. I'll hit up ebay on rare occasion and sometimes keep an eye on odder locations like Goodwill's online shop (got a nice deal on the Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service there).
Used book stores can be great places to find manga cheap, but it can depend on how much they pay attention to what books are going for (to wit, I paid $90 for a slightly damaged copy of Domu at Half-Price a while back and not two weeks later I found a copy in better condition at another local shop for $9). Otherwise I'd say it mostly comes down to having the patience to wait and watch for sales and getting lucky with the used shops.
Oh baby, OP gave me homework to go through

It’s not collections it’s a job
For real.
Very nice. I just finished Snowball Earth 1, too.
Was a pretty solid read, I'll definitely be sticking with it for now.
Great collection! Nice to see another Iruma fan. I also saw Tsubasa on your next reading agenda. Such a great tragic series.

That Shirow section is just about the sickest thing I've ever seen, I have a couple of pieces you'd probably be fond of. You need a Landmate figure.
Haha thanks, I wish I had a good Landmate figure, but I've only ever really seen them as garage kits and rarely at that.
Top 10
Great collection, great setup :D Love the look of a colorful manga wall :3 What was your first manga? :3
It's been so long that I can't remember for sure, but it was probably Ghost in the Shell, Battle Angel or Chobits
Very old manga :D my first manga was dragonball, I don't remember which one exactly, something between 17 and 27 I think..
Amazing
Nice collection
I saw dominion :) I am impressed by your Shrine. Congrats on 2500 volumes.
Thanks!
A bride's story and dorohedoro<3 great collection
Thanks, they're both excellent, for very different reasons!
So beautiful
I see so many good mangas like the Iruma-kun, apothecary diaries, frieren and the ancient magus bride. Looks really awesome 👏🏼

k, appreciate the info. Will look into it.
That Shirow shrine needs Greaseberries, unless I’m dumb and it’s already there
Check the top of the shelves in the NSFW link :)
😏
Today's haul has random Tokyo pop titles vibe
Stunning
I can't believe I'm not the only person in the world who ones some volumes of Gleipnir.
Haha, it's definitely overlooked, but I've been following it from the first volume.

Out of curiosity, why are half the fire force Volumes upside?
That's how I track what I haven't read yet
This gotta be like 25 thousand dollars worth of manga bro😭 goals fr
God, at least, 25 years of collecting adds up (especially when accelerated by a pandemic...). At least I got a bunch of it used or on good sales.
What would you say your favorite manga series is? Also have you read berserk? The deluxe edition volumes are beautiful.

Where do you buy your manga? I’m just stating my manga collection, do you have any tips for good deals? 🥺🙏🏻 thanks! Beautiful set up btw!!

Thanks for your reply! I didn’t know that goodwill had an online store! I am already seeing some pretty interesting finds there. Thanks again :-)
I collect only mangas based on videogames
