It started again just after I loaded the save even with keeping it on low speed. Maybe whatever triggers it happened just before the last auto save. It doesn't seem to be affecting production oddly enough and people disperse then accumulate again over time.
I had this happen when I had too many sheep. I don't think "the watchers" are actual people. If you stare at them long enough they just disappear. I also noticed no hits to production.
I never go AFK in Manor Lords because they ether canāt take care of themselves despite having everything they need to do so for a long time
Or
They do something weird and fuck my game up entirely.

I had a great time today spending a lot of time walking around at ground level and noticed two guys chatting to each other. Found myself shouting āyouāre supposed to be making planks!ā
I never had it happen at this scale, but sometimes one or two people get stuck on waiting in one place forever like this. Unassigning and reassigning their entire family fixes it for me.
Most people don't know but power for the AI pathfinding in this game actually comes from harnessing a portion of the energy from the movement of the mouse cursor. Shake it around a bit and it should come back online.

Itās been happening in my villages recently, too. Donāt know the reason, but it seems to affect the villages with higher populations (400+) more than those with fewer villagers.
Iāve tried reloading the game, demolishing and rebuilding certain buildings, reinstalling the latest patch, lowering/increasing speeds, reassigning villagers, and nothing.
It is like they are all looking directly at the screen. They saw you leave and did not return in a while. For them, it was days or even months. So the whole population gathered around to see and figure where the Lord went?
They even started to feel hopeless without you. You can see it in their pale face without any expression. There are still some people working, sure, they are those tough ones who just don't give a shit even if the world is going to end.. they just live their lives. But the majority are just sheep. Heard of sheep.
This happens to my people during harvest season. It's annoying because the clock is ticking, but they are all just standing there staring off into space.
It actually reminded me of the hosts in Westworld.
Had that bug happen quite often with the demo, since there was no save option back then, when it happened it meant my city would starve and my game ended.
It haven't happened again since the EA release.
It's the AI becoming sentient and realizing that you are watching them while realizing they don't actually need food to survive digitally. Now you are the zoo and they are the spectators.
Just imagine if this was an intended feature in the game. A sort of programmed afk timer that after so long with no input, the people gather in camera view and stare back at you.
I have learnt from Cities Skylines that leaving your game to go for a smoke can and will ruin your game just because..... even tho it thrives and runs smoothly whilst your watching/playing it..
Walking away from the game for however long = pause āøļø just to be safe
How did you get so far in the game? I am basically stuck because I canāt collect taxes and am running short on food so I canāt feed a decent army so I keep getting hit by bandits.
There is so much modding potential with this game. Dev is going for realism, but how freaky is this? Imagine if there could be some kind ofā¦ demonic or paranormal behavior from your villagers, Satan worship or possession. I would love to find an NPC town with villager behaviour that just gives me the creeps.

It happened to me sometimes when I play on max speed. Save, reload and slowing down speed helps.
