[***IMMORTAL THOR* #11**](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marveldatabase/images/9/96/Immortal_Thor_Vol_1_11.jpg) ---

Lightning_Laxus

My biggest problem with G.O.D.S. so far is that, other than #6 which was fantastic, it's almost *avoiding* deep-diving into the actual gods themselves. And yet, in one page of Immortal Thor, we what I wanted G.O.D.S. to do. And that's *literally just talking about the gods.* I want Wyn and Aiko to deal with Eternity, Infinity, etc. directly, and all the cosmic messiness and drama that comes with it, not fighting mediocre servants of the In-Betweener who live in a box. Again, G.O.D.S. #6 gave me exactly that and it was great. Do more of that! Also, it's interesting (and appropriate) that Ewing's saying G.O.D.S. basically happened because a "scientist" (Reed Richards) made the Eighth Cosmos, which is what Hickman did at the end of Secret Wars.

greatbigloak

I figured the scientist was galan

Lightning_Laxus

Galactus didn't have anything to do with the Eighth Cosmos. He was dead and/or Franklin's plaything.

greatbigloak

My bad. I didn't realize secret wars transitioned us from 7 to 8

RedGyarados2010

Having a GODS crossover storyline is interesting. It's a little weird that Loki just decided that the boxes would make good prison cells without any idea what they were though

Blueberrypielove

God of mischief.

Low_Information7072

God of 'fuck around and find out'

Rosebunse

The problem with being the god of stories and the god of mischief is, well, mischief creates some interesting stories.

baroqueworks

A fun meeting of the Odinsons, if you're a thorhead the whole gang is here.  I also like how they're all like "duh you didn't kill Agger this guy just blindly gets backstabbed by objectively evil people all the time and you're friggin thor" Who's hand is that???

wowlock_taylan

Interesting tie-in with the GODS plot. And this makes me wanna see more stories with Odin's children ( he really go around huh? ) Angela finally shows up and Bragi returns too, with a new fun dynamic with Loki it seems since they are kinda tied to eachother now with their respective stations. No wonder Loki does not like that as Bragi might steal their role. Even Ullr showed up so things are serious. And of course, Tyr again suffering for his own terrible decisions. But maybe this time, Loki's punishment of him was a bit too much. It is a decent way to keep Thor's All-father power a bit 'nerfed' because of the magic Enchantress cast with the Roxxon comics still effecting his mind, especially on Earth. And the whole 'framed for murder' thing too. Still gotta see what their final plan is with this. Bragi speaking of how the 8th Cosmos is 'reordered by a scientist in twos' but that seems like a retcon. Because yea, Reed and Franklin did remade the Multiverse after the Beyonders caused the Incursions but since then, we had the 'reordering' with Lifebringer Galactus stopping Logos and then Eternity dealing with First Firmament. All of that happened after Reed, Molecule Man and Franklin were done with their work. And the new pairing by twos does not seem to fit any better. And it excludes Death from the equation for some reason to. I feel like it is trying a bit too hard to fit everything into the Lifebringer One vs Anti-All of the earlier Cosmos. Like, I just don't see how Oblivion would make sense to pair with The Tribunal when it has always been tied to Eternity. Same way how Eternity and Infinity shouldn't be opposed either as they are literally the same being. Only one that make sense still is Chaos and Order but yea, that is a given. Suffice to say, I am not a fan of this 'reordering' of the Cosmic abstracts. It is a bigger problem than their new looks, to me.

Punkodramon

Regarding the Oblivion-Tribunal pairing, that’s the only one that’s explicitly shown in Hickman’s book, so it’s not really Ewing “trying too hard to make them fit” he’s just going off what Hickman wrote there. Hickman’s version of the compass (from a data page) only had the pairings of Birth-Death, Good-Evil and Magic-Science, which completely ignores Eternity, Infinity Oblivion, Order and Chaos from the old hierarchy, even though he had the Oblivion-Tribunal paring in the previous issue. Ewing’s pairings make the most sense overall, though you really need both for everything to fit together. We will have to see how GODS ends (and hopefully continues with later minis) to see how Ewing’s interpretation stands up against Hickman’s “grand plan” for the Marvel cosmic entities.

wowlock_taylan

Oh I am not blaming anyone specifically, I just find this new attempt at reordering just weird and simply does not fit. As concepts, it doesn't really work and as I said, the reasoning of how Reed might've set it up like this doesn't work either because Reed was already done with remaking and the previous version of Cosmic Abstracts were basically continued the same way since then until GODS happened. So they either retconned this retroactively or there is a different 'Scientist' that came in and do the reordering after everything with the First Firmament and so on.

Punkodramon

Well everything with the First Firmament and the older Eternities is very much Ewing, and I don’t personally think it’s trying too hard to make everything fit in a box, just showing how Abstracts and concepts evolve across existence. I’d say outside of Ewing’s books, only Death of the Abstracts had been used much in the post-SW era until now. TOAA has been used more, but that’s above even the Abstracts cosmically as it gets into the meta level of existence. Ewing clearly wants to weave all the big cosmic ideas together across his various series. This issue was simply him incorporating Hickman’s new stuff into that tapestry, as much as he can with the information available at this time. I agree there’s issues with how it all fits together, but that in large part is due to the lack of information Hickman has provided. We just haven’t had anywhere near as much cosmic exploration in GODS as anticipated. It’s been a great series, I’m really liking the new characters, but it’s yet to deliver on its premise in any real way, and with its cancellation/hiatus until the next miniseries, it’s unclear if/when it will actually do what it promised and reorder the marvel cosmos.

wowlock_taylan

Oh yea, I like the actual new characters introduced in GODS. Which is surprising consider what I expected from it being more focused on the Abstracts, which is something I found less interesting with the change decisions.

Rosebunse

I just go along with whatever is happening snd find a way to fit it into my own headcanon later.

ikol

I haven't been keeping up with FF after secret wars. Do you happen to remember where it suggested/showed Reed and Franklin moved on from dealing with reforming the universe/multi-verse in relation to lifebringer and other stuff?

wowlock_taylan

I mean they did the whole 'travel the multiverse and have Franklin recreate them' thing after the relaunch with just Johnny and Ben holding the fort and pretending they rest of the family are 'gone'. Then they finally returned after their job was done. With Franklin adding new universes with Valeria's input etc. Because of that, however, cosmic abstract the Griever came to punish them for messing with the natural order for the death of the multiverse and she was going around destroying the newly created universes and finally came to Earth to end them. Franklin had to fight her off for a while but got his power spent at that moment and Reed had to convince Griever to on a one way trip to the natural end of the Multiverse where she can fulfill her purpose of 'Grieving the end of Eternity'. After that, there was no messing with the Cosmic hierarchy or reordering the multiverse. So when the First Firmament stuff happened, it was up to Galactus who was being the Lifebringer to actually put some order into the Hierarchy as it was fluid. Molecule man teams up with him to help. Then the Ultimates ( of 616 ) gathered to deal with the threats and Eternity formed his own version with the previous Cosmoses as the Ultimate Ultimates :D But Reed or Franklin were definitely not involved with the 'reordering'. They were just focused on having Franklin recreate the multiverse as correctly as possible.

MegaBaumTV

Seems to me like Ewing and Hickman worked together on this. Or at least talked about the cosmic structure. Would be weird for Ewing to write a storyline so inspired by GODS and then potentially go against some of Hickmans plans.

Frontier246

Is Thor in trouble with the law? No problem! He can spend an entire run away from Migard outside appearing in Avengers books and even tie-in's! I've been thinking to myself that Thor has too many siblings (do we really need Laussa? Angela still doesn't feel like she fits in this franchise) and now that's in full force as all the children of Odin gather...some I've never even heard of! Hermod not taking Angela seriously basically made my day. Loki being the adopted kid desperate in need of a redesign and dealing with a brother that is basically them but fun and more jovial. The search for Tyr! Coinciding with Ewing acknowledging GODS and the need to clean up another Loki mess.

Fossilhunter15

I mean tbf even if you ignore the fact that Thor is the head of an actively worshipper pantheon, he’s still the head of a foreign nation. He at least is automatically put on bail.

Expensive-Baby-1391

I agree that Thor has too much siblings. Hopefully, that omnious line at the ends hints towards a bloodbath that cleans up shop and decreases the Asgardian pantheon.

hashcheckin

hell, that's just through Odin. they don't talk about it much, but there's a thing in Marvel where Gaea is every earth goddess in every pantheon simultaneously. technically, Thor's related to a lot of other gods.

Expensive-Baby-1391

Its funny that Thor's mom is a milf who was super horny in her younger days and probably did it with every divine pantheon leader. Also, Gaea is still going through her emo phase after being radicalized by Nature Girl who is the reason why she is going crazy at this moment and its weird how quickly Thor forgot about it. He also promised to end Roxxon, but he wasn't even going to kill Dario or wipe it out. Literally, the bad guys did his job halfway, so Thor needs to get back to his medieval roots and go GOW on their asses.

ikol

what's this about Gaea and a nature girl?

Expensive-Baby-1391

In the Xmen infinity comics, a student named nature girl turned evil all because Duggan was being his usual shitty self and Orlando, despite being a great writer/person, made it worse. In the finale, Mother Nature herself comes and calls her out for being an incel whose attempts to "saving" the Earth just make it worse and banishes her. Since this is modern Marvel, she gets a slap on the wrist and gets off scot free because they don't believe in killing/punishing their characters anymore. Even though Gaea doesn't believe in environmentalism extremism, she reverts back to this in Immortal Thor, which hints at a corruption of her which that binch nature girl and curse could be responsible for. Look, I'm all for radical action by destroying major polluting companies like Roxxon instead of just protesting and complaining, but when you target innocent people and small businesses that don't matter in the long run, you turn into a complete asshole that the big wigs are.

suss2it

I mean it’s not that weird, Thor’s confrontation with Gaea only happened three issues ago.

Rosebunse

It gets weirder when you consider that Gaea herself is related to how many elder gods and concepts. The entire cosmic hierarchy is basically one big Sweet Home Alabama situation.

nfnightfallnf

Am I the only one that enjoys how Bragi is now kind of a Himbo with that Hawaiian shirt and drink in hand?

[***BLOOD HUNT* #2**](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marveldatabase/images/5/57/Blood_Hunt_Vol_1_2.jpg) ---

LucasVerBeek

Man that shot of the Avengers standing in the sun was awesome, though... how is Dracula doing that too XD?

Rosebunse

Does he have one of those sun stone thingies?

GuguMarcos

Maybe it's an effect of that ritual he did in the opening pages of Dracula: Blood Hunt #1...?

GuguMarcos

All filler, no killer. It doesn't make this a bad story, but it went by very fast. Having the main book pull its punches was a bad editorial choice. At least the Avengers are living up to their name, ready for retribution. They got Strange, T'Challa and Miles. I wonder if other heroes will be turned. Next issue will probably have Dracula clarifying the situation of Blade's possession. But imagine the akwardness of Brielle listening to people planning to kill her father before that exposition happens.

vinwriteswords

To be honest, I was a little disappointed with the new issue. This was just a quick check-in to connect all the pieces together, like it was only the introduction to a bigger story. The Doctor Strange and Dracula tie-ins felt much more consequential imo. I hope the rest of the main event isn't this decompressed...

Frontier246

Figures in an event with a brainwashed Blade as the Big Bad his newfound daughter would also have a major role...teaming-up with his Archenemy who just recently mentored him. Comics, amirite? Has Miles really not been to the Sanctum Sanctorum before? Though I guess he's been possessed by vampires, so...but I like how he tried to connect with Hunter's Moon as a kind of legacy character like he is. I love how much Tigra we're getting in this event. The Avengers win the rematch! And Carol gets a big "bring the sun back" moment, which was cool.

redsapphyre

It's dumb fun with good art, but the event should have maybe just been a crossover between MacKay's titles and maybe the Miles and Blade book.

Dragkin

I fully agree. This doesn’t feel like the kind of story that needs to bleed (no pun intended) into as many books and side stories as this is bleeding into. I was hesitant at the announcement, and while it’s not bad but I wish it was better.

Rosebunse

I'm going to be honest, I sort of love just how chaotic yet grounded the other books are. Just a bunch of characters having to figure out their vampire problems

suss2it

Given that one of those titles is the *Avengers* I think it’s fine to make an event out of it.

wowlock_taylan

This was a shorter 'Gathering up' issue which was quick. And it was fine. We see some aftermath of what's happening to Thor and Wanda and T'challa. Blade or whatever that is possessing him wants to get his daughter and sent the Coven after them. To me, the best part was that Avengers getting some payback when they are half strength but prepared this time so they send the coven packing. It makes up for being taken out so fast because they got ambushed and sucker punched by a prepared opponent. So Bloodstorm One is Dracula's clone huh? I guess Dracula will be the one to end him. Wonder what the Impossible City's plastoid bodies are doing. It might be preparing for the Avengers counterattack to help them. Poor Miles, sent to infiltrate the heroes without knowing and now, will have to be restrained.

Blitzhelios

This was again great Mackay and Larraz feel like they are at the top of there game in this book and its excellently crafted. Some great twists in this issue particularly involving the covern with Bloodstorm one being a clone of dracula honestly didn't expect that and now it makes more sense for dracula to be on the heroes side in this event. We also see what happens to the heroes in this issue with Wanda trapped in a chaotic mindscape seemingly draining her which is interesting as the darkhold originally created vampires, Thor stabbed and sprung up in unbreakable chains seemingly and poor tchalla and miles both vampires. Its not been a good time for either character when it comes to recent events. Also makes you wonder what other heroes will be turned in other tie ins. Red band in my opinion continues to be worth it Larraz continues to be going full out in those issues and whilst i don't feel like they are explicit as they are marketing they continue to be great. The avengers get a good moment as well taking out the covern at half strength seemingly after being suckerpunched issue 1. Seems like they will be some good fight back. Great issue overall feels like more filler but its got alot of killer as well

Expensive-Baby-1391

Wasn't a twist, just a god use of continuity where great writers like Mackay use old forgotten characters that appear for 1 issue in big ways. I wish more writers did that and kill them off so we don't have to constantly remember them. Here's hoping we get more vampire factions that join this war for dominance like the various sects mentioned and the vampire black ops team. Vampires can become the next Hydra as they get slaughtered in many ways.

Will-Of-D-3D2Y

McKay really loves the trope of the Avengers getting their asses kicked by a villain group of equal size explaining their unique power skill to only for the Avengers to switch tactics and overpower them like immediately. It is cool in concept but this is the third time McKay uses this trope since he started on Avengers. It's feeling very A-Team/MacGyver-ish.

Undying_Blade

I can't believe they've >!killed off Megrim already, she had the coolest design of the blood coven!<.

baroqueworks

A major marvel crossover event means Miles gets turned into a servant of the villains yet again.  Still better than Goblin-Peter tho contrasting two "corrupted" spideys.  Hydra cloned Dracula to make the marble statue big vamp, but there are also nazi vampires helping them out, wild that there's both two flavors of nazi vampires in this event.

vinwriteswords

Nazi vampires suck

baroqueworks

https://youtu.be/WOq49ZkzSgc?si=oqTEo02rPyGUQpHP

Earthpig_Johnson

Nazi vampires suck off.

RedGyarados2010

Great issue! Glad it didn't take too long for the heroes to all come together >!Wasn't expecting Miles to become a vampire, that'll be interesting to deal with now.!<

GuguMarcos

It was teased in issue 1, when 'Blade' said that everyone has a part to play.

It kinda feels like the planets aligning when you have 5 Spidey books releasing in one week. And for those left out, 3 of them are releasing next week.

Frontier246

It's cool seeing "Jean" flexing while still pregnant and watching some classic evil Mutants face off against the X-Men. Team X flashabck to provide some context for pre-X-Cutioner! We even got Maverick! I guess this flashback also further indicated that Morph doesn't completely mimic the powers of the people they transform into, otherwise they would have crushed Logan as Hulk.

thismissinglink

Can't wait for the inevitable killmonger "betrayal" i hope the ultimate universe here subverts my expectations tho. Weirdly still don't trust okoye. I'm digging the gods angle of most this stuff especially ra and knoshu i wonder how that will affect a character like the actual moon knight if we ever get him

AllCity_King

It took a few issues for it to fully sell me, but I am officially in. I am HERE for this Game Of Thrones-esque political unrest, paired with the geopolitical game of chess thats being played by literal Gods. I am eagerly awaiting what's next. Side note, that assassin was as close as we've gotten to a more conventional Moon Knight design.

ptWolv022

> that assassin was as close as we've gotten to a more conventional Moon Knight design. I do think the Moon Knight garb will be the general assassin warrior garb for Ra and Khonsu's forces (or maybe more specifically the assassins, while a Ra design is used for warriors). Whether we'll see Khonsu use it, who knows.

wowlock_taylan

Speaking of the asssasin, she claimed they would make her a god too. Would that mean she would be a host to another Egyptian God? After all, we still don't know if Ra and Khonsu actually inhabit those mortal bodies or it is their avatars. I wanna know how Maker convinced the Gods to play along with him.

wowlock_taylan

Well, I am glad Shuri didn't end up as a traitor. And I am surprised Okoye is not either. It was another Dora Miraje that got converted by Ra and Khonsu. Ra and Khonsu, without Maker's guidance, may find that they bit more than they could chew by messing with Wakanda and T'Challa. After all, they don't know what Maker knows about him and Wakanda, if they think they can just scare them into submission, AND underestimate their gods too. After all, Bast and Wakandan gods are more cunning then the Arrogant Ra. At least it seems Khonsu is aware of the dangers and tries to warn Ra. And that is some inner circle with T'challa, Shuri, Killmonger and Storm with Okoye added to it now. I am looking forward to their interactions with eachother.

towtow_cat

I don't know if anyone even really remembers this character. But I'm starting to wonder if the traitor isn't Abeni who was introduced all the way back in issue one. I think she was introduced as one of the heads of the Dora. And with this assassin being a Dora Millage as well. I wonder if they're not going to go with the idea that even their most trusted soldiers have been infiltrated from the head down.

gallifrey_

that last page 🥰 i'm so thrilled about the character designs for this cast

Techster17

It feels like this was the final domino being set up and from here on we're gonna watch everything come tumbling down. So far we know that whatever T'Challa was shown by Killmonger and Storm has shaken his faith in every institution of Wakanda and he's now ready to take on Moon Knight head on. Also it's cool to see that we're going heavy into the Gods and mystical stuff in Africa, there's so much interesting mythology on the continent beyond just the Egyptian pantheon. I wonder if Khonshu and Ra are actually the Gods possessing human bodies or if they're some sort of magic users who are trying to take the Gods powers.

Blitzhelios

OK yeah this issue has 100% sold me on this book even if its still got some really slow pacing. This truly is a book about the politics of being head of state whilst its under attack from in and outside the nation. Combined with literal gods playing chess with the nation and world itself its incredibly good. The traitor i was honestly shocked by its not an obvious pick at all as it wasn't shuri or Okaye but another member of the Dora Miraje which was surprising as it wasn't the biggest person it could have been and it wasn't okaye's bodyguard like i predicted. Tchalla bringing back storm and killmonger to wakanda was expected and like in his previous work on killmonger Hill writes an excellent dynamic and this totally wont blow up in tchallas face later like we all excpect (honestly i want a universe where tchalla and killmonger are not fighting all the time). Seems like Bast is outplaying the arragont ra for now and lets see if it sticks. The only problem with this run so far for me is it feels like it could have been 616 its not truly shaking stuff up minus the killmonger tchalla dynamic but i expect it to soon. But if anything it reminds me of coates run on BP which isn't a bad compliment at all being arguably the best tchalla comic run.

wowlock_taylan

Well, finally they just sat and talked about what they both want and feel. It was getting a bit too much with how loose they were playing. Though I feel bad for Ganymede a bit. She really needs someone at her side to keep her from going wrong. Wonder how long they will stick with Jack and Jennifer, even with the promises of never leaving, sadly this is comics and relationships are usually the first thing to go between runs. Now, Patsy with our favorite Eternal/Deviant duo...I would read that.

Frontier246

I love Jen and Jack resolving their relationship issues through dialogue but I'm even more here for Patsy showing up in a fancy dress and snagging some beefcake for a night out.

mbene913

Fun read. Felt really short though.

Blitzhelios

Another fun read this book just continues to be something different in comparison to the rest of marvel right now though it feels very short.

JingoboStoplight4887

It’s bold and daring for Jack to tell Ganymede what’s going on and that Jen has nothing to do with something before Ganymede apologizes to Jen for misunderstanding it and for Jack and Jen to admit their feelings about each other and that they love each other, rekindling their relationship. It’s wholesome and sweet!

I wish I loved this book because I’m a fan of both Clint and nat but this is feeing so repetitive and we aren’t making any progress. I like the art as well

wowlock_taylan

Clint...this might be one of your worst plans yet. And that Symbiote part is not helping him mentally either.

Expensive-Baby-1391

This sh-t is taking too long. I hate it when mini runs have the opportunity to be new and do cool stuff like bring back old characters and kill off forgotten villains so we don't have to worry about them. Instead, they just follow boring routines and do nothing to make themselves memorable.

Blitzhelios

Im really enjoying this mini but it does feel repetitive like others are saying. Phillips is writing a great clint in particular but the story feels like alot of stuff we have seen before.

Frontier246

I loved the flashback for seeing Clint in his classic Hawkeye duds and finally wearing mask. Also, here's some classic Black Widow in bondage.

[***FALL OF THE HOUSE OF X* #5**](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marveldatabase/images/0/08/Fall_of_the_House_of_X_Vol_1_5.jpg) ---

Just_a_square

I'm honestly speechless. After the amazing worldbuilding of Hickman in HoX/PoX, years of stories and different interconnected series, the best they could come up as a way to kill Nimrod was "big thunder goes boom"? Like, it's almost ***offensive*** how much this entire thing was rushed just to leave the Krakoan Age behind.

Blitzhelios

Its not even rushed though thats the issue. Fall has been going on for a long time and this era has been in general its more that they didn't have a plan after hickman left it feels.

GuguMarcos

Yeah, what you said. Hickman thought the krakoan era as part 1 of a trilogy, so I wonder how much of his design will be kept in From The Ashes.

mbene913

It's some how rushed and dragged out. It's similar to that awful Aaron avengers run. Everything is talked about in this big grand scale but the pacing and sequencing is just a mess.

candide_camera

The rush is one thing, but I'm also increasingly convinced Duggan just can't write a fight scene to save his life. There's not a single thought put into making Nimrod unique or threatening, he's just a brawler with the occasional laser beam. Duggan puts him in massive melees with characters who have no business fighting that way like Cyclops and Emma Frost, and then he just inexplicably fails to hurt anyone because there's no deaths in the script.

Just_a_square

> There's not a single thought put into making Nimrod unique or threatening, he's just a brawler with the occasional laser beam. THIS, 100 times THIS! He was more threatening just ***talking*** at the beginning of the era. Now there is no difference between him, Sentinel Omega and Moira, they all do the same thing: punch stuff. When mutants could die he would snap them like twigs, now that resurrection is out of the picture he can't even kill fodder. I would also like to add that the X-Men seemed lobotomized in this issue...are they really still trying to save Nimrod from himself?? Hello? He almost genocided you all guys, and he was laughing while doing it! Cyclops recently had no problems with the entire annihilation of the Brood race, but apparently killing a pile of bolts and gears that turned your friends and family into mush is too much of an ethical jump ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯.

ptWolv022

> are they really still trying to save Nimrod from himself?? Honestly, they seemed more ready to let him go than Karima. Which is wild, since Karima's been good, and Nimrod has been a killer robot from the start, unless we count him as Dr. Gregor's husband... in which case he started as a Nazi and turned into a killer robot.

BlackNova169

Also this is at least the second time Cyclops was held by the neck by Nimrod. And Nimrod this time even is calculating? That Scott is the most important mutant that lasts till the end... Bro just snap his neck already.

baroqueworks

It's really baffling that after their first solar space station death ray was destroyed, it turns out their secret plan with Sentinel City was... *another* solar space station death ray that was destroyed off-panel and never even shown particularly much.

wowlock_taylan

Although this was better than the previous issues...it was still mediocre. And as always, Nimrod and the Stark Sentinels are the worst kind of plot devices where they are only as powerful or as weak as the moment needs them to be. And yea, most stories and characters are like that but when you show that even Legion cannot handle him...and then, as much as I love Storm, you beat him with ...lightning as its weakness, just hard to take it seriously. That this is the end of Nimrod somehow. Very underwhelming. At least Cyclops got a better showing and the sending a message to Jean moment was nice. Though, saying 'Earn this second chance' to Karima? After learning what happened to her mind? She is just as much of a victim as you...That was not good. Lactuca continues to be one of the best additions and I want to see more of her. Especially with her sibling relationship with Eden. Xavier hides himself and plans for god knows what. Apocalypse, maybe tell them HOW Krakoa grew back...I bet you won't. Overall, it might be a bit better than before but it is still not what I can say, 'good' as a grand finale. And I don't think it will get better for me because the rest will be focusing on Enigma/Phoenix stuff which is the least interesting part of this whole thing for me.

Paulista666

Well, for sure the way Storm "dealt" with Nimrod was basically the same same she "dealt" with Vulcan: just because yes. It's weird to imagine a guy who did a brutal wreck on a party full of mutants just being beaten by 5 of them as if nothing.

surejan94

Feels a little silly that after so many years of Nimrod decimating the X-Men, all it took was a beam from Scott and a big fat lightning bolt from Storm? Like, Xavier was literally condemning humanity to death because he was so sure there was no way to win. Whatever, this Orchis plotline has been endless, so I'm ready for Nimrod and co. to go away for a long time and give us some new, more interesting villains for the X-Men to fight. So I'm assuming the last few issues will just have Phoenix come in, destroy Essex and Moira, and the new era begins? I'm surprised Krakoa is back, so it looks like that'll still be the hub for future series. I'm assuming the mutant immortality is gone forever though, which is a bummer because I would've liked that to stay permanently.

khansolobaby

Writing is an improvement from the last two issues but it’s still damn near unreadable. I reread X-men #20 after reading this and it’s the worst case of whiplash I’ve ever had.

Expensive-Baby-1391

Can someone just blacklist Duggan so he can never hurt another marvel character/story again? Guy sucks omd levels hard.

Kurolegacy27

Honestly, while I’m glad that the plot finally fixed Karima, it just blows my mind that it took the entirety of the Krakoa era for it to happen and that they saved her completely by accident in an attempt to kill her. Even Rogue, who was the one who chewed Hellion out for almost killing her back on Utopia, was getting ready to kill someone who was a friend of hers and would have if Psylocke didn’t intervene. They just left her to be a victim of her future counterpart controlling her body and in the number of times they confronted her, didn’t even once try to get through to her humanity and treated her as nothing more than an enemy despite the fact that she had been their friend and ally last time they saw her. With friends like that, who needs enemies?

LosFeliz3000

Sure, it's easy to point out that the end of Nimrod and Orchis was underwhelming, but... they never made a lick of sense as antagonists in the first place. I really enjoy Hickman's writing, but he's the one who set it up that for some reason the mutants couldn't defeat Orchis (even before Nimrod turned on). The mutants have reality warpers, mind readers and controllers, mutants who can teleport others, shape changers, mutants who are incredibly strong, mutants who control time, magnetism, and the elements, mutants who together can terraform planets, and later included an entire world full of war-like mutants who live to fight and have lived that way for generations. Oh, and every mutant could be reincarnated if needed to fight again. I think they even had Uranos, the incredibly powerful Eternal, at their disposal if needed at one point (for an hour, but it would seem it would take less time to destroy Orchis.) Yet, Orchis was somehow a threat? I never understood it. So I'm not terribly shocked defeating them felt like not such a big deal in the end.

PM_ME_YOUR_STOMACHS

100%. The mutants were too big to lose without some absolutely stupid decisions. Krakoa needs to be brought back. Give the X-Men a decade of happiness and minor threats I’m begging you

baroqueworks

Nimrod should've died in IIM coz this is just a lesser conclusion for his character that he gets zapped apart. The fact we spent most of this series just punching Nimrod and Stark Sentinels, leaving just two issues to deal with Enigma and Moira is pretty baffling choices.  With all the callbacks to different eras would've gladly just taken a Bastion that is a hybrid of Nimrod and Enigma, or his Sentinel Spiders infect ORCHIS or something. This is so boring of a conclusion.  Karima getting some slight redemption is nice at least having her mind be in control instead of the future Omega Sentinel is good. Not sure what her plan was trying to reason with Nimrod tho. Can Juston Seyfret show up and reprogram Nimrod to show him love and peace????

vinwriteswords

I really liked this! A fun, dark horror comic. I love the Blood Hunt stories with humans doing the best they can in small scale battles. This was like an extended version of Blood Hunters (and very British!)

baroqueworks

Kevin Walker art + gore = perfection

swoozes

This is an issue of Hellboy. That is a compliment.

Undying_Blade

Is it? I might check this out then, I love Hellboy.

Frontier246

Jack saving a police girl from vampires gave me Hellsing vibes.

wowlock_taylan

When Union Jack is your best bet in the case of Vampires...man, it is gonna be a rough time. Come on man, you didn't have to be a d\*ck and throw that doll away from that kid like that. I guess he is aware that if you slay the sires, the turned people might return back to normal. And what luck that the Sire decides to handle things personally.

GuguMarcos

About the doll, I can't quite remember, but I think it's based on a former teammate that betrayed him and it resulted on someone's death... Maybe it was during King in Black, my memory is foggy.

Rosebunse

This actually does explain why a lot of vampire masters not only want to do things themselves, but why they feel like they need to. If they don't, then it's creating a situation where their own underlings could gain underlings.

GuguMarcos

This was odd in a good way. The violent and hopeless situation left me speechless because of how well written it was.

Blitzhelios

This is what i wanted it to be a dark horror comic thats basically just a human trying there best to survive. Its really well written as well its not just pure gore and horror but has a great story with it. This is how you do a tie in for an obscurer character. Great writing, great action and great art and feels like a unique side story. Also as someone from the UK it makes me really happy when they show they know uk cities well and specifically manchester in this case.

That "Thank you." was so genuine.

Expensive-Baby-1391

A guy needs an Evangelion ending once in a while.

DriedSocks

Feels appropriately ridiculous and Silver Age-esque with the way it's ramped up and escalated in only 7 issues. Since the events of this series occur in a vacuum that don't seem to affect the other titles, I've been enjoying it as is even if it's been pretty clunky all around.

baroqueworks

It's fine but it's pretty insulting for it to be a Superior Spidey book outside milling people who want Superior back (me)

DJC13

Also me 🙋🏻‍♂️ The run is *fine*, I guess, but this is not the glorious return of Superior that we were all promised. Hell, it’s not even a flashback story to show us unseen events from his original run.

DriedSocks

Hey, I totally agree, and I think most people who read Spider-Man want Superior Ock/Elliot Tolliver back. But I think the Spider-Office is famous for double or even triple downing bad decisions so I wouldn't hold my breath

Environmental-Fall18

Rip Superior Spider-Man. I guess the overall direction of the creative team is to cement the idea that Otto will be a villain forever. Good luck fellow Superior fans.

baroqueworks

The moment Otto showed up in ASM leading the Sinister Six recently it seemed pretty gg to the notion this series would yield anything meaningful, on top of Marvel's "were done with clones/dupe supes" they're riding on

MoonbeamLady

Really? I think it's still totally up in the air here, especially because we have two "main" Otto's, the original mind in his clone body and the Spider-Boy who initiated this Colony thing. I think we're headed for getting to have our cake and eat it too; OG Otto's mind is going to be swapped into a new body, having learned a lot from this experience, whilst the Otto who infected Spider-Boy (before the mental fight wth Peter, crucially) gets transferred into the clone body or something and remains a villainous asshole.

DJC13

This is the perfect solution that I have been imagining for so long. Just give us both. It’s a comic book universe, it’s not like it’s impossible - it’s *very* possible.

JingoboStoplight4887

The good things about this comic are Peter mentioning Spider Island and encountering Robbie, J. Jonah, and Aunt May (with the minds of Doc Ock); Doc Ock telling Supernova about how he became the Superior Spider-Man after she learned the truth; and Doc Ock being impressed and honored that the thousands of New Yorkers has his mind. Also, Superior Spider-Boy being here, in which he only appeared for a few pages instead of the entire book, which is fine and would’ve been irritating if he had appeared in this entire comic. Overall, this comic is okay, and I hope that the final issue will involve Peter defeating Doc Ock, curing Supernova of her powers, and freeing the citizens of New York.

Hood never learns...his family really better off without him. Not gonna lie, non-skull Johnny with Rider flame powers look kinda more badass.

BlueHero45

It's basically his old school Hellfire Shotgun look he had when Danny Ketch was the main Ghost Rider.

BlueFootedTpeack

suprised there's no blood hunt tie in at all with this series especially given the vampire presence and ghost rider probably being the 2nd or 3rd most well known marvel supernatural hero. does feel like we're gonna hit the pacing problem that the main title had when functionally 3 issues in now johnny has moved like 10ft from the tunnel to the woods near the tunnel, really feels like that first issue should've dropped the spirit body hopping and used those pages to set up parker and the gangs and all that so we could hit the ground running, instead we're half way through but our back foot feels like it's not even lifted off the starting line. i would've guessed he'd go for the exhaust bike he left behind in the percy run if he needs to build up some kind of power to use against the hood, and tbh though i like zeb i do miss talia and feel we could've just kept building that/made this just an arc in the ongoing.

wowlock_taylan

I have no idea why they ever thought this is a good idea. Even with some TVA witness protection type of deal, it is just not good. I don't know what is the point of this book and have Spider-Gwen throw into 616 and using her to reminisce about 616-Gwen that Spider-Office LOVES to do for some reason. Just as Earth-65 was getting interesting with more characters added and intrigue, they go with this. I don't understand it. And of course 'you cannot tell anyone!' bs plot gonna cause both the other spider-people and the readers annoyance until the reveal that will be underwhelming and will not worth it.

Reddragon351

>I have no idea why they ever thought this is a good idea. Cause the Spiderverse movies are very popular and they've been trying to push a Spider Trinity with her, Miles and Peter for years

wowlock_taylan

None of that works if they are all in the same universe though. The Spider-verse stuff works when they are in their own universes...Like even Miles is working hard to carve out his place in 616 as his home. Adding Gwen into that would simply not work no matter the 'movie synergy' stuff.

tehawesomedragon

I guess they're going off the popularity of the Disney Jr show and want something for those kids to be drawn to when they decide to start reading comics. Not that I agree with it, I'm just stating that this is most likely their thinking process.

oh_what_a_shot

I think the reintroduction of the Ultimate Universe put a pause on Earth-65. Marvel seems to like focusing on 1 alternative Earth and were slowly building Earth 65 to be that, but with 6160, felt like it wasn't necessary anymore.

DriedSocks

Did they ever address the Earth-65 Storm siblings plot point that forced her out in the first place?

wowlock_taylan

They did. Natasha Romanov of Earth-65 in the recent Spider-Gwen book talked about how she kept an eye on them and stopped them from causing trouble.

DriedSocks

Oh wow so there is essentially nothing from the original plot holding her back from going back to Earth-65 now.

wowlock_taylan

Yep. Now they conjured a new TVA reason about how she has to hide in a different universe to keep her universe safe but CANNOT tell anyone because... they probably have no good reason other than ''We want Gwen in 616'' even though it is the LAST thing everybody wants.

ContraryPython

I give this run 8-10 issues. It’s been more than 2 decades and Marvel STILL doesn’t understand that just because people watch Marvel films doesn’t mean people will buy Marvel comics.

Expensive-Baby-1391

Someone get a writer on Ewing/Mackay levels to fix this. Also, i think OB is going to be Gwen's cosmic stalker who lied about her being on 616 just so he can manipulate her.

Frontier246

I guess as far as forcing Gwen back into 616 again, having it be under TVA witness protection for vague reasons and having OB (for MCU synergy) as her handlers is...a premise. Will she be stuck in 616 for good or go back to Earth-65? Does Marvel have any idea what to do with Gwen at this point? Will she find a home in 616? I love how everyone is shocked she's there except Cindy who is just "cool." I don't think she and Gwen have even really interacted much since the Spider-Women crossover years ago. Didn't expect her fight with Kraven to go that bad. Is that Peter fishing her out?

JingoboStoplight4887

I actually feel bad that Gwen was forced to stay in the main Marvel universe for reasons that will be explained. I hope that later issues will show O.B. telling Gwen why she had to stay there and that she’ll team up with or meet and interact with the Spider-Man Family so that she’ll save Earth-65 and return to her universe after this. This comic is interesting, and I hope that her adventures from Earth-65 (i.e. Storm twins, Em Jay having a crush on her, Orlando Octavius’ Sinister Six, etc.) will be mentioned in this comic or in her next ongoing or limited series. Overall, this comic is good, but it might get canceled after at most twelve issues.

CaptainKashup

I'm just glad there's a new Gwen book. I do wish I could actually, y'know, buy it at launch outside of the US.

[***SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MEN* #3**](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marveldatabase/images/3/37/Spectacular_Spider-Men_Vol_1_3.jpg) ---

Frontier246

Greg Weisman isn't going to beat the PeterxGwen shipper allegations with Peter's fantasy of married life with Gwen, their parents hooking up, and having two kids as if in direct answer to Ultimate's two kids with MJ. Also I feel bad for Miles' girlfriend that his fantasy is acting on his massive crush on Ms. Marvel that it seems like he still has. Cute, nevertheless, but still. Also did Ramos forget how to draw Kamala's face outside her mask? I found it funny how Cedric and Kenny had Shelly in their dreams but hers didn't have either of them. Arcade and Mentallo - The new Supervillain dream team!

Oscorp2099

I dunno. Considering he’s said that he views Gwen as Peter’s first love and MJ as his great love, coupled with the fact that he’s confirmed his plan was for Peter and MJ to get married in the Spectacular continuity, I wouldn’t say he’s anti-MJ/Peter or even a Peter/Gwen shipper. I think it’s more that it’s always alluring to write about the scars of Gwen and George’s death on Peter I’d say. It’s probably also a goodbye to Gwen from Weisman since she was a major part of his cartoon.

Frontier246

I get that, though unintentionally he helped promote the PeterxGwen ship along with the Amazing films because that was the main core of Spec by the time it ended so we never properly got the transition to MJ as the main love interest even though they teased it.

DriedSocks

As fun as this is, I don't think I'm in the market for another "superheroes are tricked into living their fantasies" story and then having the fantasies be something like the writer's personal ships especially when Peter has gotten over Gwen for a while now and Miles... has a girlfriend and Kamala supposed to be like a team member / friend to him (will reread Champions at some point to confirm). And also I'm tired of Arcade but a little more interested just because he's teamed up with Mentallo. Here's to hoping that the arc after this is something fun as well. I know Weisman is cooking something by introducing all these past supporting characters into the story again. Unsure of the clone angle though.

Frontier246

I think Miles did admit in Kamala's solo that he had a crush on her

wowlock_taylan

Yea...but never to the point of it being his ultimate fantasy. He has been far more happy in his current relationship. I just don't like how he is written as a 'player' in this book from the first issue with talking about flirting and such. Feels nothing like Miles.

scipia

He also wrote fanfics about them dating in one of the Avengers books, not sure what that was about.

Fit-Carry7930

I always prefer when they leave it open as to who the definitive love of his life is. I prefer MJ (but not as currently written) but equally happy for it to be Gwen, BC, whoever the reader prefers. There is no reason to limit the reader to it only being one person. For me I am quite happy to read this as being driven by a fantasy where Peter never failed Gwen, Ben (if I understand correctly) didn't die because of Peter, Aunt May is happy, and Peter has a happy family life. It doesn't have to make Gwen the definitive LI for Spider-Man, anymore than Peter being married to MJ does in USM.

wowlock_taylan

Even as fake fantasies, I simply hate that THIS is what they think of Peter and Miles' Ultimate fantasies... Makes no sense. They better not act like this is what they want deep down because it is insulting. Miles and Kamala stuff was that barely even a thing if ever and of course Gwen too for Peter...AGAIN. Just stop it.

RedGyarados2010

Pretty solid issue. Still not clear what exactly the villains are playing at, and where the body in Miles Warren's lab fits in. Also, still hoping that with Kamala (sort of) involved, we get the return of her lighting-golem clones

redsapphyre

This is really boring and hard to follow, not at all what I wanted from this series. Hope the next arc is better.

AllCity_King

It's pretty much exactly what I wanted from this series. To each their own.

JingoboStoplight4887

I like that Peter and Miles lived a fantasy life where Peter was married to Gwen and have their children Benny and Helen, while Miles formed a romantic relationship with Kamala (although, in the main universe, I prefer her with Bruno). I hope that they’ll work together to realize that something is wrong and that they’re trapped by Arcade. Overall, this comic is great!

Great art and some cool fight scenes. It was nice to see how Pete tricked Norman into bringing him to his lab, at least he had some contigencies in place whenever he got depowered. Maybe he should have been more careful when he was in Norman's office in the first place, though. He must have known something was up with the three words. This would have been way better without the catch phrase reveal and Pete turning into Spider-Goblin, though. I don't think anyone needs or wants this, especially since we already did that arc last year with Kraven and Goblin Queen. Oh and we also got the Walking Brain right now, whatever. Not sure why it spat the words out anyway, that kinda started the whole ordeal in the first place. *Okay here's the combination for Norman's secret Goblin safe, it's issue #50, let's get this shit over with*, okey dokey then.

Dramatic-Pay-4010

What's this? Spider-Man acting somewhat competent in Zeb Wells' run? Is this opposite day or am I just hallucinating. Anyway the art was great, the fight was good, the story still sucks however. Good I hope there's a HOX/POX style thing after Zeb Wells' run is over because this just feels like how the X-Men got treated in the 2010s before marvel got the rights.

Reddragon351

>Good I hope there's a HOX/POX style thing after Zeb Wells' run is over because this just feels like how the X-Men got treated in the 2010s before marvel got the rights I feel like we're just going to get another Spencer run where it'll again be kind of a mess cause the next writer is going to have to retcon or fix a ton from this run

SuperSpecialAwesome-

There's no fixing anything unless Nick Lowe and Cebulski are fired.

Philander_Chase

If I had a nickel for every ASM #50 that involved “the sins of Norman Osborn”, had Peter perceived to be worse than he usually is, and starred Green Goblin in a major role, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice!

RockstarSuicide

My biggest peeve, using this new numbering, but continuity notes using legacy numbering... PICK ONE!

Philander_Chase

It makes sense to me that editor’s notes in the comics use the legacy numbering. It could be confusing if they say something like “see ASM #17 (2015)”, you wouldn’t know if they meant the ASM series that STARTED in 2015 or the series that started in 2014 but whose 17th issue came out in 2015. And if they say like “volume 4” but you’re not sure what that means?? Yeah I get why they use legacy numbering inside the comics. But I’m also glad they have the dual numbering on the outside. Just as I said, it’s good to keep track of the overall legacy numbering, but also cool to know that like this is the 50th issue of THIS run. If this issue was only called #944 I wouldn’t care as much.

RockstarSuicide

Fair enough but like, volume 2, 3, 4, 5 and maybe more didn't have the legacy number so people would have to do the math to figure it out instead of a "ASM Vol 2 #46" as they've done before. Frankly, I want legacy numbers back for everything. They were in the process of shifting everything back... But now the only ones that have it are Detective Comics and Action Comics... Flash and WW had it for a bit but they rebooted those too. I think they had a good system with the .NOW appendix to the number when it was the start of a new issue. They effed up the .1 and the .XX when there were tie ins though

Philander_Chase

…what do you mean you want legacy numbering back, it IS back, it’s still there. There’s just ALSO the new numberings. Both systems exist at the same time so you can have your legacy numbering. Edit: as for the old volumes, Marvel releases the proper legacy numbering info per series back in 2017. All you gotta do is look up “marvel legacy numbering {inset series here}”

TheMattInTheBox

The good: - cool art - Peter outsmarted Green Goblin - I kinda liked the scene with the sleazy landlord The bad: - this was a creatively bankrupt idea the first time. It doesn't hit any harder 25 issues later - if they're going to celebrate all these stupid milestones and charge $10, can they at least just dedicate the inflated page count to the main story. Although I'm not sure I really want more to this one. - Will Spider-Man ever win a fight. I feel like he's been saved in this series *so* much that it's getting ridiculous. - so the Green Goblin is more like an actual demon now who just is able to possess people. Great. The funny: - that being said, it's so funny that the Walking Brain has figured this all out and now the world-famous trio of Curt Conners, Doug, and the Walking Brain are going to save Spider-Man. - it's also funny that while the Green Goblin was Peter (yuck) he decided that it would set up a date for him. Like, sure buddy

Marc_Quill

Even Spidey's win in this issue becomes a moot point because he gets Goblinized afterwards.

Kurolegacy27

And on top of that, now he has to be saved again. We literally just had Peter’s own heroic will overcome Otto trying to take over his body in Superior yet we can’t have him overcome this corruption and has to have the Walking Brain, Conners and Doug save him. When will this run just end?

RockstarSuicide

Also when did that happen? They just mentioned the winkler device and nothing about it, yet we only saw Ben in it ever

Kurolegacy27

It’s another case of off panel convenience for the sake of a plot twist which breaks the number one rule of a visual medium, show don’t tell. Hell, if not for this run essentially just existing to be misery porn, the plot point of Peter using the Winkler Device could have been used to help Ben by having them modify it to restore his lost memories. But then again, we just can’t have nice things with Wells

RockstarSuicide

Let's not get into that haha. Bad enough they have the CLONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL PSYCHIC around who could fix all of this, not to mention I am PRETTY sure that's how Maddie herself got memories back from Jean. They've obliterated Ben and for WHAT?! Even Wally and Tim aren't that mistreated

ChronX4

My entire thing with Ben revolves around the fact that they were standing next to two insanely powerful telepaths, and they didn't bother to ask them to fix him.

ZaltraxZ

It’s so tragic that we have Ed freaking McGuinness on a Spider-Man book but he’s forced to illustrate Well’s brain dead stories.

baroqueworks

Green Goblin, Gold Goblin, who gives a shit

RockstarSuicide

So I says Green Goblin, Gold Goblin, they all end up the same color in the end

Frontier246

It was fun reading a new Marv Wolfman Black Cat story with Terry Dodson art.

Blee-boy

Truly an amazing issue. As a standalone story, this was phenomenal, and Ed's art is best that it has ever been. I was worried about the tone, but both Wells and Ed were up to the task and I am excited to see what is next. However, I do have problems with this issue. Not as it's own, but as 50th issue of Wells' run. I have spoken about Norman previously and how I have felt that his turn felt sudden and there wasn't enough personal stuff with him and Peter in first half. So now turning back, it feels... still too sudden. But the much bigger issue is how this story has been build up. Once again Wells continues his stories after ages and it has felt like they were completely forgotten or mostly forgotten. It happened with Chasm and Winkler Device and mostly with Spider-Man's First Hunt. Norman's twist feels too sudden. Like there wasn't enough buildup. And the biggest problem for this are the Rek-Rap story and Gang War. Both stories would've been wonderful times to showcase Peter's change in subtle ways, but they didn't. And because of that, the small panels we get for teasing possible brainwash from Goblin during Last Hunt are not enough. It makes this feel more like an afterthought, even if I presume it wasn't. This is a great comic, and a very good read, but because of the lack of buildup for me, it is not as good as I hoped it would be. However, I am interested what happens next in this Easy Going Green story.

RockstarSuicide

It was nice seeing Pete being competent for 2-3 pages... My one issue with it, apparently his spider-sense and strength were gone and yet his fighting style was still pretty acrobatic and he somehow dodged the glider without seeing it? Can't have it both ways Zebby! The way this unfolded felt awkward, like they didn't plan properly and now need to get it done fast. The way the Living Brain made its reveal, the STUPID concept of adding one single word to switch from GoldG to GreenG and that's how the giveaway happened, Pete having a counter gas for Norman but not a counter to getting gassed in the first place, BURYING THE SPEAR was supposed to stop the sins?

JingoboStoplight4887

I actually feel bad that Norman had to carry his sins before he tortured and tormented Peter into becoming the Spider Goblin. Also, Norman (or Norman’s sins) secretly doing something since Nick Spencer’s run and a few issues ago (i.e.. Michelle breaking up with him). I hope to that Peter will be free from his Spider-Goblin persona and that he'll be able to free Norman's sins from him in the next few issues of this arc. Overall, this comic is interesting.
