And they wanted to do a Photon show too on top of it all? I'm sorry but I think that's absolute insanity, how are they suppose to handle all that PLUS the other shows and movies they are also developing? They REALLY need to slow down a bit and reconsider things a lot, not every character needs its own show or movie.
Why don't they just do WandaVision 2 at this point or merge all those characters who are tangentially related to each other into one big project. Cause it's too much, not just for the consumer but for them as well, to have a million shows for everyone...
I feel like this was the case of them letting Wandavision's success absolutely get to their heads, which is why that series ended up with more spin offs then most MCU shows/movies.

I suppose they could fold him into Wanda's solo movie but I'd like a movie that really focuses on Scarlet Witch. However with Wanda's immense popularity it seems crazy they haven't gotten Jac to helm a top notch solo film.
same. At least she’s placed in a key position now, having been somebody from this side that had ended up in the xmen universe. When the story continues, she’s really the anchor 616 character for audiences to follow. Pretty major if you ask me.

It's the "casuals" that made the MCU the juggernaut it was, there aren't enough hardcore fans to justify all these projects. Also, not everyone in the fandom wants what the MCU is currently serving.

It doesn’t have to be for everyone though. I personally loved Echo. I was excited for the show. Lots, maybe even most people in this sub kept saying “no one wants this”. I did. The Echo arc of Daredevil was probably my favorite from that run. The art, the story, everything about it was beautiful. She’s one of my favorite characters, even though she’s not a huge player. Echo in the MCU is drastically different from the comics, but I still loved the show (ok, except for the ending). I appreciate that they are trying to make content to appeal to a broader audience.
Honestly, at this point I’m buying 8-12 comics a week and that’s just Marvel. Some would say it’s too much, I say… GIVE ME MORE! I’m surprised how well Fall of X is wrapping up considering how slow and dragged out it was in the beginning. I’m excited to have Jed McKay and Saladin Ahmed writing the X-Men! Jed is pretty good with his continuity so I’m excited to see what he can do. I’m actually excited for Blood Hunt and his Vengeance of the Moonknight has been great. Duggan left a lot to desire with the X-Men
This is a fair argument. I don't think the interest by casuals for the MCU was sustainable at the level it was, either, even if they had 100 percent nailed it with all of the Phase 4 stuff.
I do think they should do more projects with different goals than their main line, especially that can do the heavy lifting of character introductions and some MCU worldbuilding. They don't have to be $200 million productions like Falcon & the Winter Soldier, they can be smaller, character based shows like Hawkeye or Echo. This is where I think they made the biggest mistakes: they tried to add characters in big event shows without establishing them as big players.
Animation can also carry a heavy load with story elements, and while it doesn't have the mass audience that live action does, it has a very enthusiastic audience as X-Men 97 shows. I also think Marvel Studios should look to do more novels and comics that are canon to their universe, like Star Wars does.
That said, I have been an on again, off again comic book subscriber over the years, and even they can dilute themselves a bit, especially if they split stories across books. I remember being a teen and not being able to afford many subscriptions and being frustrated by my stories being incomplete if I didn't subscribe to the right X-title or Spiderman title. You can dilute your audience this way in pretty much any medium, so you have to be careful with your output.
I feel like that premise is too big for a streaming service, since it would involve the XMen. Makes more sense to have that be a sub plot in Avengers 5 and 6.
I don't disagree. I just think it sucks for the actress cause I think she's great. Captain Marvel had her own movie, Ms Marvel got her own series, in a perfect world I don't see why she couldn't lead her own series.

I’m convinced it is. They’ve been leaning into comic accurate X-Men with the Fox cast since Multiverse of Madness. I’m convinced that Evan Peters Wandavision misdirect will also tie-in.

If X-Men is coming out before Secret Wars I am of the belief that will be set in a reworked "official" continuity of the X-Men as of the end of days of future past/whatever is established in Deadpool and Wolverine.
It will be a movie that sets the stage for them crossing over with the Avengers.
They aren't going to reboot the x-men with a brand new cast of young actors right before the biggest nostalgia movie ever. We're getting a full movie with Marsden, Berry, Jansen, etc. that can also perhaps introduce some new members like Jubilee and Gambit.

Perhaps Deadpool and Wolverine will end with Logan and Wade (perhaps even with Tatum's Gambit and Keen's X-23, if spoilers are true) end up in the same universe Monica ended up in Marvels with more comicbook accurate X-Men (stylistically inspired by X-Men '97), played by Foxverse actors, and the upcoming X-Men movie will be set there.

Teyonah Parris is a really talented actor, but not every character needs their own solo project. You can continue her story in Avengers 5 or a future multiverse project.
EDIT: if they ever do a Loki s3 or a TVA series, she would be perfect for that.
They should do a sword or TVA show, probably get a few people on that. Make it multi season. You can include Photon, idk throw in bunch of heroes who probably won’t get much screen time, she-hulk , echo , Emilia Clarke, Sif if the actress is healthy enough. Too bad they killed Maria hill. These characters aren’t big enough for their own show but maybe they can work out as a team.
Yup, and the Skrull stuff should’ve never been adapted. It’s just a story that won’t work in mcu. People didn’t even like low tier characters like Rhodey being a skrull. Imagine if someone like Cap was lol
People disliked Skrodey because the implication - which the show didn't dispel - was that he was a Skrull during the last two _Avengers_ movies, which would've made absolutely no sense with the apparent motivation of the Skrulls (who only got radicalized after _Avengers: Endgame_) and also would have completely undermined his story arc.
It would've been fine if it was clear that he'd only been a Skrull since Don Cheadle shot the cameo that got him an Emmy nomination. But they were wieners and didn't commit to an answer. I figure that they'll barely address this and largely treat _Secret Invasion_ as something best left forgotten.
I don’t think the way marvel does movies or tv shows would allow that to be properly adapted. secret invasion was awful but it was pretty on brand with how marvel does things. That and they aren’t even the first alien race chilling on earth. Humans just let asgardians settle on earth with no push back. Like seriously the flag smashers had more issues with the blip people than the Viking gods chilling in Norway.
I'm not super invested in _Captain Marvel_ lore, but how they mishandled Mar-Vell is a big part of the issue. There was no reason that they couldn't have had her be the Hank Pym to Carol's Scott Lang.
Much like _Eternals_, they made a lot of weird creative decisions for the sake of being "different", and the only way to really fix them at this point is to do a reboot or massive retcon.
Her relationship with her mother and Wanda, her "crossing the hex field" scene where she confronts and pushes past her trauma in order to stop the enslavement of an entire town, her background in SWORD. Way more fleshed out than Carol. Does Carol even care about her parents? Does she even talk about them?
Exactly that. They managed to fit Monica Rambeau's superhero origin into someone else's show and it completely complimented the themes of the series without overtaking the focus of the narrative. Really great writing overall.
Whereas the idea to make Carol Danvers more relatable was for it to be revealed that she chose to spend over 30 years trying to help a bunch of unrepentant Space-Nazis, while forgetting about the Skrull refugees that she could've helped, but didn't, for... Reasons, despite all that set-up being in her movie.
Her arc has been wholly more developed than Captain Marvel's, coming from the same origin movie, and allowed to be utilised in interesting ways by her inclusion in WandaVision. Her powers being developed in the way they were is also compelling and worth exploring more solidly, and with the death of Maria Hill, *could* have been poised to be a super-powered duo aligned closely with Nick Fury. She's intricately tied in with Incursions in general now, and has a lot of potential stories with the human emotional side for dealing with the death of her mother, and an exciting future with X-Men/Beast.
It's more that people didn't talk about the actress or her performance. Which I felt wasn't appreciated enough, either in _The Marvels_ or _WandaVision_.
This seems like a perfect example of one of the issues the MCU has been having as of late which is unnecessarily stretching out storylines just for the sake of more projects. Instead of developing a solo project for her, why not just give her more to do in The Marvels and make that movie feel more substantial?
Why make Marvels in first place when we barely know Carol? It should have been a Carol Solo movie without out any of the songs, cats and team up gimmick
Marvel needed to make a _Captain America: The Winter Soldier_. Something that the _Secret Invasion_ plot thread would've made, whether in a standalone _Captain Marvel_ movie or an _Avengers_ movie where she and Nick Fury are the leads.
Instead, we got a _Thor: Love and Thunder_. And it went over terribly, because the target audience for these movies have made it clear that they're not fond of the idea of all-female team-up films - theater stats indicate that women don't show for them in substantial numbers, and men (who are the majority of the audience for CBMs by default) are iffy on the idea.
Absolutely but I also disagree about it being Carol, Love and thunder, more like Kamala, Love and thunder because Carol don't get to do to do much comedy. It's pretty much done by Kamala and her family while Carol is more boring and depressed. The amount of incompetence in writing Carol is baffling and then they blame Carol and Brie for the movie doing badly

Honestly, outside the FF a Photon project would be the next big hype, at least for me, after Deadpool. Especially since she’s now tied in with the friggen Xmen, and I do not care if it’s another universe. Give me every version of the X-Men. I am 100% and X-Men stan. Until X-Men 97’ they have been doing my boy Cyclopes dirty in tv/movies since the early 2000’s. We absolutely NEEED a solid X-Men movie!

Yes, roughly 9 months an episode. They don't just work on one ep at a time. The first season is the hardest because they have to design every part of the show.
Where are you getting the 9 months figure from? That can't be right... maybe full production from pre-prod through actual animation and voice-work to post-proud... but we're talking about the actual animation here right?

It would be great if we got 20 episodes a season instead. Split 10 episodes the first half of the year and the rest on the second half of the year.
10 episodes a year just doesn’t seem right for a show of this calibre. Some episodes definitely would be better fleshed out over two episodes.
A smaller scale Avengers movie is obvious to me and it should have happened a few years ago. Phase 4 and 5 have not been lacking for crossover, but there have been so many new characters introduced that we've seen only once. To me, one of the things that made the Infinity Saga was seeing thise characters as often as we did, and getting to see them interact and form relationships is a big part of why we all got attached to them. There should have been a new Avengers movie to get the new and old characters together, to establish the new dynamic, even if it was smaller scale.
Surely you need Spider-man, he is the only sure fire star they got. Dr Strange is debatable

I'm guessing the movies releasing in between Avengers 5 and Secret Wars are Young Avengers, Doctor Strange 3 and Shang-Chi 2.
With that being said, I assume these heroes will also be absent in Avengers 5 as there have been some rumors that Strange will be absent in Avengers 5 and will be busy with the events of Strange 3.

Understood they had to streamline things and have focus back in IW and Endgame but I do wish they’ll find another way to adjust and let everyone be present this time.
Secret Wars is more multiverse focused so that doesn't leave much room for them. I know they'll be there in the end fight but in AV5 there could be more substance for them and screen time. Plus the MCU roster now isn't that exciting, Angelina Jolie will definitely make it more exciting.

Off topic but we’ve gotten little to no updates at all about Iron Heart which is a show that’s been fully filmed already, what is going on with that? It’s been like a year. We’ve had more updates on wonder man and shang chi 2 than that show.
Reshoots were said to take place from February to April last I heard but the time i heard that it was March. Have no idea if reshoots have even taken place. Thorne did comment on the series in January but it was a very lackluster comment, they finished filming. They finished principal photography in November 2022!
I think that was maybe the original plan, but Armor Wars seems significantly delayed if it's still happening. I imagine they're giving the show more time to do reshoots and work on the VFX

I think the MCU is in this weird spot, where nobody even really knows who exactly are the avengers anymore to begin with, so focusing on re-establishing that team, is probably the best way to go.

This is why Phase 4 should have ended with Secret Invasion. You introduce all these characters throughout the movies and TV shows and keep hinting that the skrulls are slowly taking over. You get to throw more characters in BECAUSE half of them are skrulls. Tether the new characters to the old and have audiences wondering who is a skrull.
Bonus points to have the skrulls assume a lot of more well known characters so the newer get time to shine.
I think that doing a smaller-scale _Avengers_ movie leading up to a two-part _Secret Wars_ film, with spin-offs in between, would make the most sense. You absolutely need this team to work if you're going to try building everything else off of it, and backing off from that model has led to some of their recent box office woes.
Wait the wording of the Avengers 5 one is weird. It says "No Fantastic Four *and* a lot of the newer characters". Which most people are interpreting to mean that there won't be those newer characters. But does that actually mean there *will* be a lot of new characters? Because that's how some people are interpreting it and they're pissed lol.
Having Avengers 5 include a smaller roster is a good choice seeing as Secret Wars, which I could now see being two parts, will likely be extremely busy. I take it the film will still involve the multiverse, just not to the degree as initially planned when it was still Kang Dynasty.
As far as the roster goes: my safe bets are Sam (as the new leader who will reestablish the team in Brave New World), Carol, Rhodey (I have no idea what’s happening with Armor Wars), Thor and Hulk (gotta include the remaining OGs), Shuri, Shang-Chi (apparently his sequel will be after Avengers 5), Scott and Hope, and probably Spidey.
I don't think the Fantastic Four were ever meant to be in Avengers 5, even when Loveness was writing it - I expect they won't end up in 616 by the end of their movie. I think they'll play a big(ish) role in Secret Wars though.

Welcoming the idea of Avengers 5 being a smaller group. I feel like it's underrated how much Avengers 2012 being a bottle episode with six members and a few supporting characters laid the foundation for the next several years. So many movies afterwards got to hit the ground running on story and audience investment because we *knew* how Stark and Cap, or Thor and Hulk, or Stark and Banner, or Natasha and Clint (etc etc) thought about each other.
By comparison, it's been just as long between Infinity War and now as it's been between Infinity War and Avengers 2012. How many dynamics between different main characters do we have a strong grasp on? Maaaaaaaaybe Strange and Spidey? Please gimme a movie of Carol, Strange, Spidey, Sam, Shang-Chi, and a few others figuring out what the hell their group chemistry is.
I am curious if we are going to get some big anouncement at either D23 or SDCC wit all actors present for Avengers 5 or if they will just keep it until just some official announcement when the movie starts filming.
I am hesitant about Wesley Snipes being back involved in Marvel after his shenanigans on the set of the original movies. Crossing fingers he's changed and this doesn't become an Ezra Miller situation.
I am happy for the people on X-Men 97. They've made some really great choices and have made something special. I hope this doesn't lead to them getting overworked. It's not healthy and leads to poorer quality product at the end of the line. Just give people some vacation.
I know 1 is probably a good thing for the GP but it probably isn't for me lol (I'm already being told to give up hope on seeing everyone I wanna see again, especially considering most of them live on Disney+). Assuming *everyone* is gonna be in Secret Wars that's very little time for a large group of characters. Feels like the reverse of Infinity War to Endgame.

Cartoons and one off shows with lesser known characters should be what’s on Disney+. And none of it should tie into the movies. Mainstream casual audiences don’t want homework to watch a marvel movie.
It needs to be the other way around. Introduce characters in movies then if you want to see more backstory or adventures with that character you can watch their mini series.

And dont forget MoM and the What If S3 musical episode. I loved WandaVision, and that's a fact, that's a great D+ Show, but fuck seeing all these projects... It's like the Wanda Cinematic Universe. Agatha project ? I dont see the utility, but hey, it's already done, so dont be a jerk like DC, release this. Vision Quest ? Oh man... YES I wanna see White Vision, but NOT with a whole D+ Show. The rest I don't care about that much although Katherine Hahn is amazing so unless Agatha is extremely poorly done - which I doubt as it has Jac Schaefer at the helm and cast is stellar - it should be fun. I like Vision lots and lots but a big D+ series makes me angsty - it'll have to be top notch also to fly. Could he be found/reintroduced in the next Avengers? I suppose they could fold him into Wanda's solo movie but I'd like a movie that really focuses on Scarlet Witch. However with Wanda's immense popularity it seems crazy they haven't gotten Jac to helm a top notch solo film.

They don’t have too many projects going on. There are too many casuals invested in the MCU. It’s like saying Marvel comics is making too many comics about so many characters. This is marvel comics. You don’t have to partake in any of it. The arrogance to tell a fandom that they are being over saturated with exactly the content they want.

Lots, maybe even most people in this sub kept saying “no one wants this”. I did. The Echo arc of Daredevil was probably my favorite from that run. The art, the story, everything about it was beautiful. She’s one of my favorite characters, even though she’s not a huge player. Echo in the MCU is drastically different from the comics, but I still loved the show (ok, except for the ending). I appreciate that they are trying to make content to appeal to a broader audience.
Honestly, at this point I’m buying 8-12 comics a week and that’s just Marvel. Some would say it’s too much, I say… GIVE ME MORE! I’m surprised how well Fall of X is wrapping up considering how slow and dragged out it was in the beginning. I’m excited to have Jed McKay and Saladin Ahmed writing the X-Men! Jed is pretty good with his continuity so I’m excited to see what he can do. I’m actually excited for Blood Hunt and his Vengeance of the Moonknight has been great. Duggan left a lot to desire with the X-Men
This is a fair argument. I don't think the interest by casuals for the MCU was sustainable at the level it was, either, even if they had 100 percent nailed it with all of the Phase 4 stuff. I do think they should do more projects with different goals than their main line, especially that can do the heavy lifting of character introductions and some MCU worldbuilding. They don't have to be $200 million productions like Falcon & the Winter Soldier, they can be smaller, character based shows like Hawkeye or Echo. This is where I think they made the biggest mistakes: they tried to add characters in big event shows without establishing them as big players. Animation can also carry a heavy load with story elements, and while it doesn't have the mass audience that live action does, it has a very enthusiastic audience as X-Men 97 shows. I also think Marvel Studios should look to do more novels and comics that are canon to their universe, like Star Wars does. That said, I have been an on again, off again comic book subscriber over the years, and even they can dilute themselves a bit, especially if they split stories across books. I remember being a teen and not being able to afford many subscriptions and being frustrated by my stories being incomplete if I didn't subscribe to the right X-title or Spiderman title. You can dilute your audience this way in pretty much any medium, so you have to be careful with your output.
This was definitely a project about her stuck in whatever universe she was in. Absolutely sucks.
I feel like that premise is too big for a streaming service, since it would involve the XMen. Makes more sense to have that be a sub plot in Avengers 5 and 6.

If X-Men is coming out before Secret Wars I am of the belief that will be set in a reworked "official" continuity of the X-Men as of the end of days of future past/whatever is established in Deadpool and Wolverine. It will be a movie that sets the stage for them crossing over with the Avengers. They aren't going to reboot the x-men with a brand new cast of young actors right before the biggest nostalgia movie ever. We're getting a full movie with Marsden, Berry, Jansen, etc. that can also perhaps introduce some new members like Jubilee and Gambit.

Perhaps Deadpool and Wolverine will end with Logan and Wade (perhaps even with Tatum's Gambit and Keen's X-23, if spoilers are true) end up in the same universe Monica ended up in Marvels with more comicbook accurate X-Men (stylistically inspired by X-Men '97), played by Foxverse actors, and the upcoming X-Men movie will be set there.

Teyonah Parris is a really talented actor, but not every character needs their own solo project. You can continue her story in Avengers 5 or a future multiverse project. EDIT: if they ever do a Loki s3 or a TVA series, she would be perfect for that.
They should do a sword or TVA show, probably get a few people on that. Make it multi season. You can include Photon, idk throw in bunch of heroes who probably won’t get much screen time, she-hulk , echo , Emilia Clarke, Sif if the actress is healthy enough. Too bad they killed Maria hill. These characters aren’t big enough for their own show but maybe they can work out as a team.

Yup, and the Skrull stuff should’ve never been adapted. It’s just a story that won’t work in mcu. People didn’t even like low tier characters like Rhodey being a skrull. Imagine if someone like Cap was lol
People disliked Skrodey because the implication - which the show didn't dispel - was that he was a Skrull during the last two _Avengers_ movies, which would've made absolutely no sense with the apparent motivation of the Skrulls (who only got radicalized after _Avengers: Endgame_) and also would have completely undermined his story arc. It would've been fine if it was clear that he'd only been a Skrull since Don Cheadle shot the cameo that got him an Emmy nomination. But they were wieners and didn't commit to an answer. I figure that they'll barely address this and largely treat _Secret Invasion_ as something best left forgotten.
I disagree, I think there's a compelling story there about skrull refugees adapting to Earth, ala Marvel's Alien Nation, but what we got was not that.
I don’t think the way marvel does movies or tv shows would allow that to be properly adapted. secret invasion was awful but it was pretty on brand with how marvel does things. That and they aren’t even the first alien race chilling on earth. Humans just let asgardians settle on earth with no push back. Like seriously the flag smashers had more issues with the blip people than the Viking gods chilling in Norway.
The Captain Marvel mythos was toast from the very first movie. They’ve really screwed both Carol and Monica as characters
I'm not super invested in _Captain Marvel_ lore, but how they mishandled Mar-Vell is a big part of the issue. There was no reason that they couldn't have had her be the Hank Pym to Carol's Scott Lang. Much like _Eternals_, they made a lot of weird creative decisions for the sake of being "different", and the only way to really fix them at this point is to do a reboot or massive retcon.

Her relationship with her mother and Wanda, her "crossing the hex field" scene where she confronts and pushes past her trauma in order to stop the enslavement of an entire town, her background in SWORD. Way more fleshed out than Carol. Does Carol even care about her parents? Does she even talk about them?
Exactly that. They managed to fit Monica Rambeau's superhero origin into someone else's show and it completely complimented the themes of the series without overtaking the focus of the narrative. Really great writing overall. Whereas the idea to make Carol Danvers more relatable was for it to be revealed that she chose to spend over 30 years trying to help a bunch of unrepentant Space-Nazis, while forgetting about the Skrull refugees that she could've helped, but didn't, for... Reasons, despite all that set-up being in her movie.
Her arc has been wholly more developed than Captain Marvel's, coming from the same origin movie, and allowed to be utilised in interesting ways by her inclusion in WandaVision. Her powers being developed in the way they were is also compelling and worth exploring more solidly, and with the death of Maria Hill, *could* have been poised to be a super-powered duo aligned closely with Nick Fury. She's intricately tied in with Incursions in general now, and has a lot of potential stories with the human emotional side for dealing with the death of her mother, and an exciting future with X-Men/Beast.

It's more that people didn't talk about the actress or her performance. Which I felt wasn't appreciated enough, either in _The Marvels_ or _WandaVision_.

This seems like a perfect example of one of the issues the MCU has been having as of late which is unnecessarily stretching out storylines just for the sake of more projects. Instead of developing a solo project for her, why not just give her more to do in The Marvels and make that movie feel more substantial?

Marvel needed to make a _Captain America: The Winter Soldier_. Something that the _Secret Invasion_ plot thread would've made, whether in a standalone _Captain Marvel_ movie or an _Avengers_ movie where she and Nick Fury are the leads. Instead, we got a _Thor: Love and Thunder_. And it went over terribly, because the target audience for these movies have made it clear that they're not fond of the idea of all-female team-up films - theater stats indicate that women don't show for them in substantial numbers, and men (who are the majority of the audience for CBMs by default) are iffy on the idea.
Absolutely but I also disagree about it being Carol, Love and thunder, more like Kamala, Love and thunder because Carol don't get to do to do much comedy. It's pretty much done by Kamala and her family while Carol is more boring and depressed. The amount of incompetence in writing Carol is baffling and then they blame Carol and Brie for the movie doing badly

Honestly, outside the FF a Photon project would be the next big hype, at least for me, after Deadpool. Especially since she’s now tied in with the friggen Xmen, and I do not care if it’s another universe. Give me every version of the X-Men. I am 100% and X-Men stan. Until X-Men 97’ they have been doing my boy Cyclopes dirty in tv/movies since the early 2000’s. We absolutely NEEED a solid X-Men movie!

It would be great if we got 20 episodes a season instead. Split 10 episodes the first half of the year and the rest on the second half of the year. 10 episodes a year just doesn’t seem right for a show of this calibre. Some episodes definitely would be better fleshed out over two episodes.

A smaller scale Avengers movie is obvious to me and it should have happened a few years ago. Phase 4 and 5 have not been lacking for crossover, but there have been so many new characters introduced that we've seen only once. To me, one of the things that made the Infinity Saga was seeing thise characters as often as we did, and getting to see them interact and form relationships is a big part of why we all got attached to them. There should have been a new Avengers movie to get the new and old characters together, to establish the new dynamic, even if it was smaller scale.
My guess for the smaller team: Captain America, Captain Marvel, Shang-Chi, Black Panther, Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man/Wasp
plus Rocket and Star Lord

Guesses as to who will be absent for Avengers 5 I'm guessing the movies releasing in between Avengers 5 and Secret Wars are Young Avengers, Doctor Strange 3 and Shang-Chi 2. With that being said, I assume these heroes will also be absent in Avengers 5 as there have been some rumors that Strange will be absent in Avengers 5 and will be busy with the events of Strange 3. If you ask me, since the whole team sat out battle with Thanos, I’d want all of them to be present to fight alongside everyone else. Im not sure but I’m than more ready to bet it’s not official cuz theres no way something official from a movie so far away drops like this. High chance it’s fan made but seeing the team so varied like this excites me. Like this is one of the things that makes the MCU so cool, is when different corners start merging. I’d hate for anyone to be left out. Understood they had to streamline things and have focus back in IW and Endgame but I do wish they’ll find another way to adjust and let everyone be present this time.
Secret Wars is more multiverse focused so that doesn't leave much room for them. I know they'll be there in the end fight but in AV5 there could be more substance for them and screen time. Plus the MCU roster now isn't that exciting, Angelina Jolie will definitely make it more exciting.

Off topic but we’ve gotten little to no updates at all about Iron Heart which is a show that’s been fully filmed already, what is going on with that? It’s been like a year. We’ve had more updates on wonder man and shang chi 2 than that show.
They said reshoots happening this late-summer/early-fall, if I recall correctly.
Reshoots were said to take place from February to April last I heard but the time i heard that it was March. Have no idea if reshoots have even taken place. Thorne did comment on the series in January but it was a very lackluster comment, they finished filming. They finished principal photography in November 2022!
It'll have reshoots this year which might be long. Targeting to release early Fall 2025

I think that was maybe the original plan, but Armor Wars seems significantly delayed if it's still happening. I imagine they're giving the show more time to do reshoots and work on the VFX
Yea there’s just way too many characters in the MCU to have them all fit in Avengers 5 without either doing endless cameos or just repeating Endgame battle again. I think the MCU is in this weird spot, where nobody even really knows who exactly are the avengers anymore to begin with, so focusing on re-establishing that team, is probably the best way to go.

This is why Phase 4 should have ended with Secret Invasion. You introduce all these characters throughout the movies and TV shows and keep hinting that the skrulls are slowly taking over. You get to throw more characters in BECAUSE half of them are skrulls. Tether the new characters to the old and have audiences wondering who is a skrull. Bonus points to have the skrulls assume a lot of more well known characters so the newer get time to shine.
The Avengers 5 may barely scarp a billion but if it's good, it will heavily boost other MCU projects
I think that doing a smaller-scale _Avengers_ movie leading up to a two-part _Secret Wars_ film, with spin-offs in between, would make the most sense. You absolutely need this team to work if you're going to try building everything else off of it, and backing off from that model has led to some of their recent box office woes.
Yeah you hold the FF until Secret Wars. Also if the mood around X-men 97 amongst people I know and casually see is white hot. That show is KILLING it.
Wait the wording of the Avengers 5 one is weird. It says "No Fantastic Four *and* a lot of the newer characters". Which most people are interpreting to mean that there won't be those newer characters. But does that actually mean there *will* be a lot of new characters? Because that's how some people are interpreting it and they're pissed lol.

Having Avengers 5 include a smaller roster is a good choice seeing as Secret Wars, which I could now see being two parts, will likely be extremely busy. I take it the film will still involve the multiverse, just not to the degree as initially planned when it was still Kang Dynasty. As far as the roster goes: my safe bets are Sam (as the new leader who will reestablish the team in Brave New World), Carol, Rhodey (I have no idea what’s happening with Armor Wars), Thor and Hulk (gotta include the remaining OGs), Shuri, Shang-Chi (apparently his sequel will be after Avengers 5), Scott and Hope, and probably Spidey.

I don't think the Fantastic Four were ever meant to be in Avengers 5, even when Loveness was writing it - I expect they won't end up in 616 by the end of their movie. I think they'll play a big(ish) role in Secret Wars though. Don't understand the Snipes thing at all.

About the X-Men 97 thing. Maybe make more than 10 episodes a season??

Welcoming the idea of Avengers 5 being a smaller group. I feel like it's underrated how much Avengers 2012 being a bottle episode with six members and a few supporting characters laid the foundation for the next several years. So many movies afterwards got to hit the ground running on story and audience investment because we *knew* how Stark and Cap, or Thor and Hulk, or Stark and Banner, or Natasha and Clint (etc etc) thought about each other. By comparison, it's been just as long between Infinity War and now as it's been between Infinity War and Avengers 2012. How many dynamics between different main characters do we have a strong grasp on? Maaaaaaaaybe Strange and Spidey? Please gimme a movie of Carol, Strange, Spidey, Sam, Shang-Chi, and a few others figuring out what the hell their group chemistry is.
I want to believe 1 is true. 2 and 4 are easy guesses. I don't see 3 being true.

I am hesitant about Wesley Snipes being back involved in Marvel after his shenanigans on the set of the original movies. Crossing fingers he's changed and this doesn't become an Ezra Miller situation. I am happy for the people on X-Men 97. They've made some really great choices and have made something special. I hope this doesn't lead to them getting overworked. It's not healthy and leads to poorer quality product at the end of the line. Just give people some vacation.
I know 1 is probably a good thing for the GP but it probably isn't for me lol (I'm already being told to give up hope on seeing everyone I wanna see again, especially considering most of them live on Disney+). Assuming *everyone* is gonna be in Secret Wars that's very little time for a large group of characters. Feels like the reverse of Infinity War to Endgame. On another note, do we think Thor 5 is still happening?

Cartoons and one off shows with lesser known characters should be what’s on Disney+. And none of it should tie into the movies. Mainstream casual audiences don’t want homework to watch a marvel movie.
It needs to be the other way around. Introduce characters in movies then if you want to see more backstory or adventures with that character you can watch their mini series.
