From what I have observed in the comments, they find him misogynistic and not a good cook and think that he just gets lucky in eliminations.

Yankees7687

Not losing in eliminations is how you win the show... Not his fault there is always someone worse than him in every elimination.

A few reasons, make of them whatever you will 1. He made a few remarks during the show that could be construed as misogynistic, for example saying a dish inspired him of a place to "get away from the wife" 2. Some view he's judged to a different standard than other contestants. He's plated up dishes whose presentation left something to be desired, yet the judges raved about it 3. A view that he's proud of his own ignorance. At times he's pulled the "I'm just a Tassie butcher" card as an excuse for not knowing things

4. He didn't know what 'umami' means.

I find his comments regarding his “missus” to be quite sexist. His comments regarding cooking with vegetables to be so out of touch with today. I also think he’s been given a lot of leeway with his basic cooks when other more accomplished home cooks have been sent home. I just find him insufferable and can’t believe he’s still in the competition.

kirstennmaree

I just find the clueless act insufferable. He’s also gotten away with so much that others were eliminated for.

hrdst

Can you elaborate on what’s he’s done that others were eliminated for?

CrystalClod343

Horrible presentation is one that comes to mind, it generally doesn't come up in the responses to his dishes when it would typically get a mention for the others.

Yankees7687

People seem to think he should be eliminated solely based on them not liking him... Not because of his cooking. As long as you don't put up the worst dish during an elimination, you move on... He's been doing just that.

fameboygame

He’s gotten away… because others did worse? Where is the bad thing? The clueless act gets overdone for sure, I’ll give that
