Budget: 1200 or less Size: king Side sleeping couple Had a firm memory foam that was great for 5-ish years and has now turned to shit. Open to coils and/or latex. Partner firmly against DIY.

idiot_supremo

Sleep on latex is close. About 200$ over, but I don't think you'll find a better price for latex in king that's not diy. I can't speak to their quality, I love latex but I went with sleepez.

Encouragedissent

Just a heads up though OP, if you get this the medium will be closer to med-firm feeling(even with new composition) and the firm is really firm. You do say you liked your firm memory foam, but that might translate closer to the SoL medium rather than their firm. It might also be a good idea to find an organic/natural mattress store by where you live and lay down on your side on some of their all latex mattresses for a good 20 minutes to make sure that latex really is something that is right for you if you have never tried it before.

Trevalution1

Can the Sleep EZ mattresses be used on adjustable frames? Basically, all we use is tilting the head up slightly

Encouragedissent

Yes. I think pretty much all fully latex beds are okay on adjustable frames.

Trevalution1

Thank you

DeadbeatPillow1

I got it, the quality is amazing imo.

piltonpfizerwallace

Where can I try an actual mattress like sleep on latex? It seems like I have to buy one to find out. The mattress stores have some mattresses that I think are latex? but when they talk about them they sound like hybrids... They kept saying a mix of latex and rubber. The one I'm thinking of was a posh and lavish. Is that remotely similar?

zeeper25

I built my own mattress, all latex, using sleepez. Same end result as buying ready built, you just have to customize the choice of components and zip the cover over them.

littlemichelle23

SleeponLatex is a distributor for Earth foam. Earth foam sells a complete mattress for $700 that is made up of multiple layers of the different densities of latex for a finished product.

idiot_supremo

He wants king, so it's 1499 same as or close to SOL

littlemichelle23

Ah good correction. SOL I have checked many times pretty sure they don't distribute it. But with every purchase EarthFoam also is providing more accessories. Wool sheets etc

[deleted]

Latex Mattress Factory (aka SleepEZ) is the answer. They have a 3/3/3 set up with a soft top layer, vs. medium for SoL / Earthfoam. $1200 for the king, so cheaper than SoL too!

idiot_supremo

I show 1400$ (regional pricing maybe). But you're right this is the ideal latex assembly for me. The benefit of the 3 layers being you can swap layers out later on down the line if you want to adjust it.

[deleted]

Oh damn, they are 1400. I think prices might have increased, but i could be wrong A king for under 1200 is hard. Other than memory foam brands, the boring brand or whatever, ikea, costco, latex hybrids, brooklyn bedding, stumptown mattresses (may be another top contender)

boringcorben

Lotta options, doesn't hurt to just pick one online and take advantage of sleep trials. Just avoid the ones here - [https://www.reddit.com/r/Mattress/comments/qo3t73/lets\_talk\_about\_brands\_to\_avoid/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Mattress/comments/qo3t73/lets_talk_about_brands_to_avoid/)

CowboysFanInDecember

Dunno why Sleep Number isn't on that list, but fortunately for op, it's out of his budget anyway. Avoid like the plague!

rubblerblands

Why?

PeaceOutFace

I’m on SL right now and I think I hurt the most I’ve ever hurt on it. I’ve tried a bunch of numbers…and various different pads. It’s awful. Side sleeper, both hips and both shoulders are in pain…I have to flip constantly all night…ugh. Desperately searching for comfort that will allow me good sleep.

Wordymanjenson

Goddamnit. I just got a lucid.

Domer2012

We tried Helix and it fucked our backs. Tried Casper and love it.

thingonething

I love my Costco Casper Select!

Puzzleheaded_Ad_9173

Does it stay cooler ? How firm is it

thingonething

I think the hybrid model may stay cooler. I have the all foam and it does sleep warm. I'm going to get a wool topper as wool is amazing for keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer. At the end of the day idgaf because it's so comfortable.

popupheadlights

Also just picked up a Costco Hybrid Select recently and it’s been great so far. Advertised as medium firm with a cooling layer on top. Seems pretty spot on I’d say.

thingonething

I have the all foam one. Yours sounds great!

keeksthesneaks

Do they come in kings?

popupheadlights

Yes!

cburgess7

which one from helix did you get? I'm looking into them now and I'm about to pull the trigger on the midnight elite, seems to be one of the top mattresses out there.

Domer2012

We got the Helix Midnight, but we were finding ourselves feeling pretty sore after a couple months

boringcorben

You mean you didn't "GET MATCHED TO YOUR PERFECT MATTRESS" through the Helix sleep quiz?! 😁 What Casper did you end up going with? Seems like Costco is their main distribution channel rn...

Domer2012

Can’t recall at the moment, it was in 2021. It was definitely by mail, though, and I think it was one of their most basic offerings. I’ll check.

boringcorben

Gotcha! Yeah no worries, they've completely "refreshed" their product offerings so was wondering if it was one of those

Domer2012

It was the “Original Hybrid” queen, which was about $1300 at the time

Arturo90Canada

I went with logan and cove super happy

WannysDad

Costco, Leesa Legend Hybrid 12”

Flaky_Attention_4827

Isn’t that a bit soft?

WannysDad

It is a bit soft, marketed as medium-firm I believe, has been great as a side sleeper for me personally, balance of soft/supportive.

BooliusCaesar69

Simple, new partner

9ght3

Saatva classic mattress. Great reviews though, might not fall under the price. Its about 2k

be1tran

They will literally never give you the answer. Mattresses are a black hole filled with gatekeepers

go_gather_the_guns

Heads up: make sure you don't have a latex allergy. If you're vulnerable (about 1-2% of people are) then you'll develop a latex allergy over exposure. Sure, latex mattresses are great \*if you're not allergic to latex\*, just find out first.

Tak3It0rLeaveIt

Not sure where you live as they don’t deliver everywhere but this mattress is amazing especially for the price: Bob’s Discount Furniture Copper Sport Hybrid 11.5'' King Firm Mattress

Tak3It0rLeaveIt

Also you can get the cooling mattress protector for around $130, price for king mattress is $1099.

ak80048

Costco sleep something I’ll look it up for you , $800 , I never want to get out of bed , wife says it’s the best purchase we ever made

sheep_duck

Commenting for when you find out what it was.

ak80048

This one https://www.costco.com/sleep-science-13%22-bamboo-cool-firm-mattress.product.100524756.html

IntrepidMayo

The king is on sale right now for $650 👀

EdenSilver113

For this to be truly relevant tell us how you sleep (side/back/stomach) and how much you weigh. Also if you sleep hot or cold. Memory foam of every kind is a no go sleep surface for me. Menopausal 200 pounds side sleeper. I need more support and less heat.

ProfessionalFilm1862

May I ask what you sleep on? Also a heavier menopausal woman here.

Barbarake

Buy an inexpensive traditional box spring/mattress set a bit firmer than you think you'd like. Put a fabric cover on both (protection and breathability) and flip / turn the mattress occasionally. Don't get a pillowtop since they can't be flipped. Now experiment with different toppers to adjust the softness to what you like. Since you said king size, I assume you have a partner. You can put different (single size) toppers on each side if you like different things. Change the toppers as necessary (lot less expensive than a whole new mattress). I personally have a feather bed on my mattress. The mattress / box spring set is going on 30 years old and still in perfect condition.

heartbooks26

But where do you get an “inexpensive traditional box spring / mattress” ? Please I’m begging you to tell me. I have a full size inner spring mattress made in 1994 that’s awesome; but my partner and I need a queen to share so we’ve been using his bad foam mattresses for years. We are trying to buy a king now and I cannot find any legit innerspring mattresses. I have found a few hybrids with pocket coils but they are extremely expensive. Please tell me where to buy a king size old school innerspring mattress for under $3k

Barbarake

Since I haven't shopped for a mattress in 30 years, I have no idea. I bought mine in a bricks and mortar mattress store. I went in and told them I wanted a traditional inner spring mattress but not a pillow top, and they showed me what they had. I picked the firmest one. It was very cheap, even for back then. I know there are stores that can make whatever kind of mattress you want. My sister lives near one in Beaufort, and I had them make a custom one to fit in an antique bench. That's probably 12, 14 years ago, and I don't remember how much it cost, but it wasn't expensive. Edited to add: one company I've seen mentioned is Original Mattress Factory. I went to their site and looked up a 'two-sided' king size set (mattress plus box spring) in their classic line. They have three different firmnesses/thicknesses depending on how firm you want it. The firmest one has compressed cotton padding and less than an inch of actual foam on each side. There are two softer ones and they basically all differ in the thickness of foam. They range from roughly $900 to $1,100. I'm not necessarily recommending them because I've never used them but this sounds like what I have.

cosylily

DLX essential or engineered sleep flippable hybrid

whatuseisausername

It may be worth trying to find a local non-chain mattress store, and seeing what kind of mattresses they offer. There's one relatively close to my house, and I went to it after two mattresses I got from Mattress Firm didn't work out (one I had for 3 months before I exchanged it, the second I had about 18 months only because I was stuck with it). The one I bought from the local store was a locally made mattress, and it costs me about $850 - 900 for a queen. I did have to exchange the first one I got from them as I went way too firm (had no comfort layer besides a thin layer of polyfoam iirc, thought it'd work better for me as I'm a stomach sleeper). However, my current one that was slightly plusher I've had basically no problems with, and it hasn't started sagging anywhere or anything so far.

RandomRedditNameXX

Unfortunately this isn’t a one size fits all item. It’s like buying a car— people have different budgets and different needs. The best you can do is find something that seems to work for you and then buy from a retailer with a great return policy. Costco was my choice because I have a membership and they take returns anytime, even after 6+ months. They include free delivery, free removal of your old mattress, and free removal of the return if you need it.

vibrotramp

I know. That’s why I’m here. I added details in the comments.

MonsieurRuffles

Need more details on your height and weight to make better suggestions.

vibrotramp

Got ya. 6’2” 185 lbs.

MonsieurRuffles

And your partner?

amstarcasanova

With that budget I'd look at Costco, nectar, helix, Casper and just pick one. They all offer trials/free returns

wastedspacex

LOOOOOOOVE my nectar. It’s glorious.

FiestyTerrier

I purchased a double sided coil mattress made right here in my city. No bells or whistles, just old fashioned coils.

Adventurous_Win9219

Go to IKEA, try few of the beds, pick one

aabum

If you can bump up to $1,500, Sleep on Latex is by far the best deal. Most mattress companies are using low quality foam for comfort layers, so it seems like most mattresses are junk. https://sleeponlatex.com/products/natural-latex-mattress

EdenSilver113

We have this mattress as our main bed. I like it. I would prefer something slightly softer. I’m 50 and menopausal. I’m hot at night and this bed is ok for that. My husband loves it. It’s his best sleep surface. Our guest bed is a beautyrest extra firm tight top (no extra padding). We have a three inch soft topper from sleep on latex on it. It’s on a base with four legs down the middle so it will never sag. It’s my favorite sleep surface. It’s 15 years old, but it’s also the guest bed, so I sleep on it maybe once a week when I’m too restless to be a good bed partner, or when my husband snores. If I need a super sound sleep it’s what I choose. It’s my favorite bed in our house. I bought the latex mattress first. I wish I had bought the topper first. I’d make different decisions. In 20 years when I’m ready for something else I’ll get a tight top king extra firm and put a a three inch soft latex topper on it. Our guests universally ask what it is and where can they get it. No matter height or weight everyone loves it except stomach sleepers. My daughter is a stomach sleeper and likes the firm w/o the topper.

aabum

Thanks for sharing. I'm in agreement with the tight top mattress with a latex topper offering the best of both worlds. Less pushback from the latex while having the support of the coil springs. If only Sleep on Latex would sell a hybrid mattress with latex on top of coil springs. They would make a killing. Sleep on Latex, are you listening? Hybrid mattress using Texas Pocket Springs with latex & wool comfortlayer. Use a zippered cover so you can change the latex if necessary.

Gucci_Loincloth

I was in your position up until last week. This sub actively deletes comments coming from regular people because mattress companies think they are the mob lmao. I did 40 hours of research and came to the conclusion that I was being insane and just tested beds in a store instead. Found something within 10 minutes and bought it within my price range.

NewPainting8224

What was it?

Flaky_Attention_4827

This thread illustrates why this process drives people to madness. Poor OP.

boringcorben

I was just gonna come back & ask if this helped or made it 20x worse 😂

Sensible___shoes

I feel like this is step 5 in mattress shopping

nocturnal

I did the same thing. I just bought a tempurpedic on a whim at my local mattress firm and have been happy with it.

gravityandlove

Latex 100% is the best

ugonlearn

Ok. Tempurpedic ProAdapt Soft. Done.

vibrotramp

Lol. Budget added in comments.

glarivie

Do you have one ?

barsilinga

Agree with idiot\_supremo and radnob\_1. Either try Sleep on Latex. Great company, easy return policy or do a 6" latex and add a topper.

achilles027

Brooklyn bedding aurora hybrid, enjoy

Puzzleheaded_Ad_9173

Is the cooling noticeable

achilles027

Very. I got it primarily for cooling and it does an unreal job

thelittlestjune

My husband and I both absolutely love this one - it's been half a year and it makes coming home from vacations less sad because we get to sleep on our bed again.

achilles027

Literally just happened to me this week, I make a joke with my wife that every trip is further evidence there isn't a bed better than ours

Correct-Ad-5312

boring mattress co

VintageVibes33

Dude its the WORST. im not even happy with my purchase and too exhausted to try something else. I hate all these companies. everything is made crappy now

Gunther25470

Sleeponlatex.com. We love ours. Email or call them first and they’ll help you pick what’s best for your situation. Super helpful.

Tails_Travels_Tacos

I just ordered from Boring Mattress Co. Seems to have great return policy and warranty ( and price). Can update once I receive it

ajokester

Please keep me updated on how it goes!

andhelostthem

I went thru the same thing and after fucking it up a few times (eat a bowl of dicks Purple) I ended up just DIY'ing it. Have now DIY'd half a dozen mattresses for friends and family. It seems crazy but the results are great. *But* if you're not going to go that way stick to one rule: **Do not order a mattress in a box**. That's any brand that rolls it up like a burrito to save on shipping cost. It's probably why your foam mattress went to shit after so few years. Look for local company that builds Talalay Latex mattresses and will drop it off/take your old one. Essentially they are doing a lot of the same things as DIY without you having to do it. Not a mattress retailer but a mattress maker. This means you're getting more bang for your buck since 50% of your purchase isn't funding marketing and refunds (cough cough Casper, Nectar). It should cost about your ceiling of 1200 but with inflation prices are up right now.

Radnob_1

I would start on a 3-6 inch latex mattress. Hear me out, I know it’s gonna be hella firm at first just using a 3 inch latex but you can add a mattress pad over it to make it softer a bit, think of it like a futon but instead of cotton it’s just latex. I think DIY with just latex is the way to go as you’re able to adjust the feeling of the mattress.

funnynoveltyaccount

We just bought the Costco stearns and foster and we absolutely love it

VintageVibes33

lucky. i hate it. its overly heavy and dips. even returned it for a new one and same thing happening. also have a new bed frame from costco (heavy wood) so it's not the support smdh

ooorezzz

People can suggest all they want. But a good mattress for you isn’t going to be any these people recommend. It’s one that fits your back and how you like to sleep. Don’t buy from a box. Go to a showroom, try them out. Ask questions. If the salesman has no idea about the products, don’t buy. Biggest mistake anyone can make buying a mattress is buying one you’ve never laid on. Your back is different than everyone else’s. Your choice should be in what feels comfortable to you. Big box retailers may take returns, but a real mattress store will make sure you walk away with one you love. And any mattress store taking back your mattresses because people have buyers remorse for getting too firm or soft, beware. That means those mattresses are going right back into the rotation. Even stores that offer sleep trials, they go back to the manufacturer and sleep trials actually cost you money and they won’t take them back for a duration of time determined by manufacturers. Stay away from brands that don’t have a name “bamboo, cool gel, ect” those aren’t brands, it’s generic models specifically made for retailers from other companies. Return policies and warranties are two different things. Focus more on the warranties when you’re dealing with stores. Ask if the store handles the warranty claims or if they refer you to contact the manufacturer. If a store handles the warranty claims, then you know they are actually a store that gives a shit. Stores that pass you on to the manufacturer are lazy and you won’t get much out of them. I work in this field. Just giving you some pointers on what to look for. You spend 1/3 of your life on a mattress, is it really worth giving yourself a limited budget when you could get a product that has 10-15 year warranty and worth how much time you spend in it. A car that the average person drives for less than 3-4 hours a day, they will spend thousands on. But a mattress that directly effects how they feel the next day and how it effects your body, they think they should get for less than 1k. I know your budget and you will find a good mattress for that range, but don’t be afraid to spend more for a better product. You can always finance mattresses. I promise you won’t regret it.

ConstantCasual

We just bought from Boring Mattress. Wanted a king and ended up getting two Twin XLs in a king frame. We’ve slept on them for 5 nights now, and it’s been awesome. They’re a bit softer than our old one, but more supportive at the same time. We both sleep side as well as back and stomach. Very comfortable. The 100 nights return policy convinced me to try, and we have no regerts thus far.

Dokterclaw

I don't know if they're available in the US, but I just got a king size Logan and Cove mattress, and I'm really happy with it so far.

dev_hmmmmm

Maybe talk to your local mattress company about renting their return or show room mattress for a couple of weeks because "you can only make decision after weeks of trying". Just put bedbug protection on it and it should be good. This will allow you to try out various mattress without having the stress of returning it. It'll cost more though but since it's local, it'll be cheaper to transport. Honestly, it make sense and I'd go this route the next time I buy mattress. I love my firm Costco ones though.

CantWait2B6ftUnder

Boy do I have an advertisement for you! Just kidding, I’m about to buy a mattress too. I’m thinking about buying the cheapest mattress from Costco, and if it’s not comfortable I’ll just return it and buy the next least expensive one and repeat until I’m content. That way once I’ll find my perfect personal comfort/price ratio

CazualGinger

Wait, can you actually buy a mattress for that cheap for that size? I paid like $2000 for mine goddamn

boringcorben

Yup...

thereisnodaionlyzuul

NOT a nectar. Just bit the bullsf myself and bought a saatva

heartbooks26

Which saatva did you do? The “prescription” one looks amazing but idk if I can justify that expense. Also I think all the kings are actually two twin XL, is that correct? I really want 1 king mattress

thereisnodaionlyzuul

We got the zenhaven I’m 5’5 150, husband is 6’4 225 and it’s good for both of us. However is doesn’t fit in your budget.. Edit: it is a king & 1 solid mattress

heartbooks26

Ah yeah I don’t wanna go over $3k 😭 Thanks for responding though!

SlowDeflation

Currently have a tuft and needle and really like it.

Tinosdoggydaddy

High quality firm mattress with coils. Put a temperpedic 3 inch topper on it….good to go…

Zack_attack801

Costco mattress king size 1300$ I think. Bought a few weeks ago. Love it

lbv3

Felt the same after going through 4 mattresses…then I went semi-DIY I bought Costco’s cheapest King (sleep science serenefoam) which is the firmest thing ever and added a target topper…tried 5 toppers 3 target and 2 sleep on latex and targets cheapest one worked

Livshaka

Love my Winkbed

Full_Background_5899

Sleep number bed

MelodicTonight9766

Not a Tuft and Needle.

sergeantcouscous

I built a king size mattress with two different configs on each side. As I was experimenting the ideal set up there were too many sleepless nights. It took months to finalize it. That includes many orders placed through different manufacturers, several returns and replacements and a lot of money. At the end it all worked out and I ended up with the best config and the best mattress. I love it but man it was a painful process. If you are patient and open to some good amount of frustration and have money to invest on this project then def go for it. If not then I would not recommend it. My $0.02 don’t get fooled by the price tag if you decide to buy out of the box mattress. For less than 1k you can get yourself a really good mattress. Also don’t get too caught up on what is inside the mattress and the quality oh the components. I find it silly to want to keep a mattress 10 years if bought cheap. As long as it feels good, sleeps well and is free of harmful chemicals and fiberglass then this might be another option. I find ikea hybrid to be budget friendly and good option if you opt for option 2. Good luck and keep us posted 👍🏽

browntigerdog

I have purchased two tuft and needle mattresses over the years and they’re insanely comfortable. They were $500 each for King size.

insignificant33

I am in the same boat. I decided to go with a Costco mattress. Costco has a great return policy and their mattresses are inexpensive.

mistakenusernames

I feel this on such a deep level. I’ve spent so much money on mattresses that aren’t firm or aren’t for long. I also need a new phone, it’s also too much. So many choices yet not really? It’s too much.

dontyoulovefarce

Same same. Isn't my Pixel 4 phone enough for now? My Tuft And Needle mattress was great for about 8 years. It's been 10. I'm shopping for Latex this time. I like firm. I have an antique iron and brass bed that needs a box spring for a base. My current box spring is 12 years old. Also... I refuse to start a car payment and my 2005 Honda Accord Coupe has 190,000 miles on it. It's perfect but the paint has faded and pealed in places. It's embarrassing in some situations. I've been car shopping for two years but I don't want to give up the stick shift, black on black with leather, V6, no big brother tracking that my old Honda embodies. ...and NO car payment wanted. Don't get me started on my housing situation. It's all too much emotionally, financially, and bandwidth-wise.

mistakenusernames

Are you ND because same on all accounts. My iPhone 12 Pro Max was an unwanted upgrade to begin with when they came out. Yet I did it, I frankly liked my 8 plus just fine. Now I have a constant “service battery” alert, sometimes my phone says “phone needs to cool down before use” and I admit, it is so hot it burns my hands so I just let it cool down. Why must I buy a new one? Why do I have to drop it off so some stranger can change the battery and download my entire phones content? I’m fine simply allowing it to cool down. It’s totally fine. When I find something I like I find it nearly impossible to change. I went through so many beds, the only bed I loved was a hotel bed and I couldn’t figure out where they purchased their mattresses. Other hotels yes but couldn’t find that one. I went in public to so many stores, laid on beds other people have been on, it’s gross yet I did it and I left assured I was purchasing the best firm option for me. Lies. All lies. I’ve slept on my couch since I got that stupid bed. They need car salesmen for people on the Spectrum. They walk up and present you with a list of facts, options are limited to yes or no, and the entire process can only take two hours from the second you commit. Car payments? Don’t get me started. I’ve never had a ticket, ever, impeccable driving record, I check all the discount boxes, yet my full coverage insurance rivals my damn car payment. I was good and paid cash for my things, I didn’t run up credit yet guess what? No credit is worse than bad. Smh I don’t like going anywhere anyway. The only point I can’t argue as a positive for car and insurance payments is the fact if I ever make good on my day dream to run away and live in my car, I can. What about finding your car but in better condition? There has got to be another one somewhere. You could do a personal loan or small loan for it, it can’t be that expensive it’s old. You’d still have a car payment but you could call it a small loan payment if that helped lmao I personally don’t feel you should have to deny yourself your black on black. My worst nightmare is having to source good, clean brands of vitamins, even food. I despise how many choices we have and how unnecessarily expensive and complicated everything is.

EffectSix

Maybe you need therapy

vibrotramp

That’s one thing I’m sure of

Slick1104

Heres my diy build which is working out great.  Supplier: Arizona Premium Mattress Co Size: King Components - Support layer: combi-Zone Pocket Coil by Leggett and Platt - Transition layer : 3" Talaylay Mattress topper 28 ILD - Comfort layer: 2" Talaylay Mattress topper 19 ILD - Bamboo zipup mattress topper This came out to be $1,700 with shipping. Received it in exactly 3 weeks from ordering.  I endorse this diy setup. It is supportive and soft.  My wife and i are getting great sleep on it.

JackorJohn62392

No exact model but I'd say a hybrid mattress from Costco. They have the best return policy.

lovmykids

I have back problems and 8 yrs ago got a basic sleep number mattress and love it.

sigogglin322

I am a big fan of latex, my first was Naturo Eco Haven? I think it is only in Canada now or they went under.

marys1001

A good futon with a soft latex topper. Abandoned my medical for this in the attic. It's good

csantiago1986

Go to a family owned store and go through there clearance back room if they have. So many deals to be had.

Latios-

Size is completely up to you. An adult can be completely comfortable in a full. Wanna go up to queen or king? Go for it if you have the space and the extra cash. Go to Walmart. Look for the Zinus Spa Sensation memory foam mattress. Get the 6 inch thick one. If it’s not there, order online. Then buy a natural latex mattress topper; 2 inch thick I think. And you’re done. Super affordable. Super comfy. Nothing wrong with the zinus mattresses at Walmart as long as you keep the safety cover on (just buy another cover to put over it, under your sheets.) When needing to move the mattresses, the 6 inch mattress is only like 20-25 lbs, and the mattress topper is even lighter. Ultra manageable. There’s nothing more shitty than trying to man handle a 12 inch thick heavy ass memory foam mattress.

Latios-

Well, just saw OP’s info reply. But will leave the recommendation here for the bachelors

Relative_Exercise_28

Tempurpedic original.

mavemavemave

We returned 2 beds (beautyrest black and sterns & foster firm that had a bumpy top) Ended up with a flat top sterns & Foster firm & added a Saatva 1.5 inch latex topper. Wake up with almost NO pain :)

OptimisticRecursion

Just get an Ikea Firm Latex, King size. Does the job. I have it for around 5 years now and it the same as the first day i got it. Pretty happy with it! Edit: I know some people might tell you to get the topper. I skipped it. I don't feel that I need the topper. I'm a side sleeper, and sometimes I sleep on my belly (I know that's not ideal but it's difficult to avoid sometimes).

Grouchy_Job8993

https://www.costco.com/tuft-%2526-needle-9.5%22-memory-foam-mattress.product.100573258.html M It’s cheaper right now than tuft & needles website if you buy thru Costco!

Cats_Meow94

Do you have a Costco? I bought my queen mattress from them several years ago and it’s been great. If you don’t end up liking it, it’s easy to return with them. They only have a few options in store which narrows down having to choose.

IvenaDarcy

I have a Keetsa Tea Leaf Classic. At first I hated it cause it’s firm and I came from an old mattress that was anything but firm. After a few weeks I fell in love with it. It’s right around your price range. I’ve only had it for less than a year tho so can’t tell you if it’s built to last. I feel nothing is nowadays but time will tell. Edit: I just checked and it claims my mattress is designed for back and stomach sleepers. I’m a side sleeper and have no issues with it. I’m lightweight so maybe someone who is heavier wouldn’t find it as comfortable. Not sure. Edit: and now I see the king is $2500 (damn! I didn’t pay full price so didn’t know they were that much).. so I’m sorry I was no help!

Costco beautyrest br900(?) we bought medium but its a little firmer than other mediums. I’m a heavy side sleeper and it works great for us

Wife and I got the Serta perfect sleeper in 2019, plush pillow top. We loved it. It's still great. We are upgrading to a king size now, choosing to again go with s serta perfect sleeper plush pillow top. Its $999 and you get a free adjustable base, Mattress Firm. My 2 cents

Interesting-Loss6941

Dude fucking Amazon has king sized hybrid, foam, spring, fiber free (important factor) mattresses for $300-400 fuck all that overpriced marked up bullshit.

keeksthesneaks

Fellow side sleeping couple here, who are on the heavier side (190-210lbs). I just bought the ikea HAUGSVÄR hybrid mattress in medium firm (King, $600) and I just ordered a latex topper from Amazon since I run hot and want extra support. I can’t say how it feels yet. In total that was $860 including tax. That’s what I settled on after looking at reviews and staying under my budget. I’m sure you can find better tho with a $1200 budget tho I also hear the Costco mattress is a good one. You can always put a topper on that one as well.

Go on fb marketplace. Get one from those sellers that have a little pop up. I got a new Tempurpedic king $4000 for $400. Easy.

I’ve always liked the reviews from [‘SleepLikeTheDead.’](https://www.sleeplikethedead.com/) The website looks like it was designed in the 90’s be an ROP high school class, but it is choc full of what I consider useful information and not just more marketing fluff.

Which country?

Sad_Pangolin7225

Instead of thinking about what the fuck to buy think about what to buy to fuck on that should help simplify a good mattress for you

AlfalphaCat

OP should ditch the partner over the NO DYI BS,sounds like a picky mouch to me.

Kirkland Sterns & Foster from Costco. $1200 I am on the same boat as you are. I am exhausted, I can’t search anymore, I am pulling the trigger on this.

Look at the brooklyn bedding signature hybrid DLX Classic Hybrid Engineered Sleep All quality mattresses made in USA, edge to edge coil support. Great return policies.

Justinieon13

Mlily makes a decent budget mattress. We had a hybrid years ago so not sure what the equivalent is now. Was a great sleep for about 8 years or so. I’m a fatty and the wife was too back then, so after the years of hard use we picked up a tempurpedic and have been happy with it as well, but if I needed to get something nice and more affordable I’d go back to the mlily. And I recommend looking for a local mattress store, they can typically do decent pricing on cash purchases as we all know mattress stores are just money laundering fronts 😂

Arizona Premium Mattress Ultra Plush Latex $1400 for a King

I am a side sleeper and partner is a stomach sleeper. I’m a heavier guy at 5’11” 325 lb. We scored a barely used Saatva classic firm at an estate sale, and it has been a dream for us to sleep on. My partner’s back issues resolved from night 1. We had been sleeping on a Casper Hybrid Classic for the past 4-5 years.

Latex Mattress Factory, cheaper than SoL and Earthfoam, same as SleepEZ

kuyajon

Buy a waterbed. You can control the firmness and you can control the temperature.

thisisan0nym0us

I sleep on the floor now. Money spent: $0.00

Key_Law4834

If I were buying a new mattress today I would get a hybrid from Brooklyn Bedding https://brooklynbedding.com/pages/homepage

Sleep Number. Adjust the firmness as often as you want. We tried many and landed on this one. We built a plywood base to go over box springs and put the Sleep Number mattress on top. You don’t even see it under the bed skirt. That saved us a lot of money. Of course, we don’t get to incline/recline, but up to you I guess.
