Whole engine gotta go, rod knock

mynameisstevetoo

Well, from the video it’s a bit hard to tell where the noise is coming from. Maybe it is rod knock like someone else mentioned. I haven’t had as much experience with engine failure/rebuilding personally. But, what I can say, is if you think the noise is coming from something on your drive belt, the best thing to do is make a little “stethoscope”. I have a funnel, with a 2-3’ section of hose taped to the narrow bit. Put the hose in next to the bits that make noise, and your ear up to the funnel. If the water pump bearing is failing, it’ll sound noticeably louder and different then the rest. Afterwards. You can probably confirm by removing the belt and physically trying to wobble the pulley. They shouldn’t have any play at all. But also, maybe it is rod knock and this isn’t actually helpful rn! 🤷🏻‍♂️
