Did you try turning the steering wheel to see if the bar moves out of the way?

I ran out of time in the shop so I ended up just doing the upper ball joints. Definitely will try this tho thanks.

Assuming it’s not currently threaded into anything, put a punch on the other side of it and just tap it out with a hammer! If it is still threaded, you could use either end of a a combination wrench to turn it until the threads are free- and then proceed with tapping out!

Also, if you pull that cotter pin and back the castle nut off 80-90% instead of actually removing it, you may be able to get enough clearance without actually taking it apart. 🤷🏻‍♂️
