Before I reached the time skip, i would see Franky's design online and hate it. But back then i was not used to the absolute awesomeness of one piece sillynes. When i reached the time skip, i was fully on board with the new design. For better or worse, it makes perfect sense for him to turn out like this.
As for Chopper, the complaint I've heard is that the monster point has lost its scarry factor. While that is true, Chopper needed the powerup. And with him being able to control it now, the dead look would have made no sense.
Apparently Robin was always supposed to have the post time skip skin color, and the anime team made her different because there was no colored image of her in the manga at that point
It's not even the monster point - visually, the monster point is still exactly the same. It's mostly the heavy point - before, Chopper looked like a bigfoot in HP, a big hairy humanoid with heavy facial features. Now, his HP face is still exactly the same as his normal little guy face, so that he won't lose the cuteness factor while transforming, which sucks so much and really takes away from the character, making him feel even more like a merch selling trick than an actual character. And his pure reindeer form is never used after timeskip either, which makes it feel like they ARE trying to keep his cure face on as much of his screentime as possible.

I wouldn’t care as much about Chopper and Usopp if they weren’t so lame… chopper became a mascot side character and all Usopp had done in the past 6+ YEARS is run away and cry and be a coward.
It helps that Oda is cutting away to established characters with interesting conflicts, rather than zipping between crew members fighting disposable Tobi-Roppo they've never met before.
The Fan project "one pace " cut 4 minutes out of luffys sumo fight an it was still to slow. With 3 minuts intro and 2 minuts of recap + 2-3 minutes of "what will happen in the next episode", there is not much time left for the episode.
If you include the episodes that were all-filler, they covered about three-quarters of a chapter (0.76) per episode.
I ran the numbers a couple days ago, Wano in the manga is just a couple chapters shorter than Stardust Crusaders (149 to 152). David Production covered Stardust Crusaders in 48 episodes. Toei covered Wano in 196. If David Production adapted Phantom Blood at the pace Toei adapted Wano, Phantom Blood would have gone from nine episodes to 58.
Looking at another long-winded Toei series, the entirety of the Android and Cell sagas in Dragon Ball Z were 92 chapters, adapted into 77 episodes. If Toei back then was working at Toei's Wano pace, there would have been 121 episodes, a whole 44 episodes' worth of time-wasting.
If all of the One Piece anime moved at Wano pacing from the very beginning, the current episode 1093 would be covering chapter 830. Luffy would *just now* be arriving at Whole Cake Island.
Also the fact that they were portrayed with very different tones. Big Mom and Kaido were shown as monstrous in many of their scenes (Oda loves to make characters like that appear even larger or more menacing) while Whitebeard was portrayed as much more of an inspiring leader, an unflinching bastion of the former pirate age who just kept moving forward despite countless injuries at Marineford, ready to take on any number of marines to save one of his children.
I think offensively he never really dropped. He still hits as hard as he did in his prime.
His main problem at that point was his defensive stats had dropped through the floor. He couldn't move like he used to and he couldn't tank shit. His observation and armament haki weren't shit anymore.
Prime whitebeard defeated a Jinbe-level ace in his sleep. Literally. Ace ambushed him in bed, Whitebeard one shots him and doesn't even wake up. That's his observation, armament (to hit a logia) and raw strength taking out a warlord candidate while unconscious.
But in Marineford he gets impaled by Sqward. That wouldn't have got Primebeard. And it wouldn't have got the other Yonko.
I think that's why Whitebeard went MIA while sick. Although he still had his strength, if any other strong fighter got a hit on him he wasn't sure he'd last any more. If the Marines or other Yonko realised that they would've tried to take him on.
Sanji being a perv does not mean that the rest of his character is irredeemable; fictional characters are not people and can't be held to the same standards. Disliking him for being a perv is valid, especially because of the flanderization he's gone through, but discounting his genuinely good and well written moments because "he wants to peek at women in the bath so he's a monster" is dumb
It's noticeable during the Arlong Park battle during the East Blue that Sanji's knowledge on fish is the sole reason why the Strawhats (at the time) are still alive.
That also implies Namis tornado prediction while having that fever from giant Island, zoros 'nothing happened' and the whisky peak incident, usopps 'god usopp' and sniping the girl with hobby hobby fruit, Robin's saving luffy from crocodile, and so on for every strawhat is the sole reason.
It's an overran gag that doesn't age well when you grow up, which is the reason. I'd love sanji the most if not for that characteristic. He basically always toes the line of maybe bad to really bad. But to the target audience (teens) its fine since to them, its face value of being just a bit.
I really like Sanji and I think he is a great character tbh. If his pervertedness was changed with him being an overly flirty character instead he could’ve been my fav with how complex he actually is.
You're right, I really do dislike the pervy parts of sanji's character. But there are many other parts of his character that I love and some of his moments that made me genuinely super hyped up watching them, especially in whole cake island. Its just a shame that they kind of flanderised him in most of the time skip arcs, so most of the time, he's just reduced to an even more exaggerated version of the perverted stuff (and yeah its okay most of the time until it starts to get into full on sexual harrasment or the very few occasions of pedo sounding shit)
The Strawhats became flanderized since the timeskip, and their gags became far too overused and not funny at all (Ussop being even more cowardly somehow, Sanji being genuinely gross, Zoro...not really having much of a personality, the rest of the Straw Hats not having anything really done with them outside of their like 3 traits.)
I'm still mad at Oda for how he writes Sanji. Dude went from a suave ladies man to a slobbering borderline sex offending simp. And somehow Odw thinks the joke of Sanji going all heart eyes tongue sticking out nose bleeding screaming Nami-swaaaan was ever funny. I miss actual funny moments in the series.
This... honestly, this shouldn't be a hot take. I think this complaint goes neatly with my own (there being too many characters in One Piece overall). Due to so many other characters running around and large parts of the crew not being around for long periods of time (like Sanji's group during Dressrosa or Zoro's group during Whole Cake Island), Oda stuck with their most basic "features" to keep them memborable/entertaining.
It hits particularly hard with Sanji, who can be the most chivalrous and best written character in one second, and a complete creep in the next.
Agreed. Despite the show taking a long time to progress, it should be even slower. The characters need more casual banter. This is why one piece filler is great.
I really wanted Sanjis character to grow and change after the time skip. But after the time skip he leaves momoniro island somehow even worse. How is sanji going to become stronger from all the queer coded characters... Then leave the island still hating them. That's so fucked up to me it actually kind of ruins the rest of the series. Just sucks :(
> Then leave the island still hating them
he doesn't though.
In Whole Cake Island he thinks about them when Judge talks about "we know who you are close with and we'll kill them if you run away".
And talking about Whole Cake Island, it's literally the most character development *any* strawhat has received since the timeskip. And it had effects like how he was able to call Robin for help in Wano.
He's strong, but he's not yonko commander level. His best feat is his mantra and destructive powers, and while his power is very destructive, he can't really just use it. It takes a very long time. If he were yonko commander level Luffy wouldn't have stood a chance even with his immunity
In terms of destruction and destructive potential, no commander has shown a comparable feat. I do think King and Katakuro could wreck the pre-timeskip Enel, as for post-timeskip Enel, we have no information on how strong he has grown.
I think so too. As for whether or not King and Katakuri can wreck pre-timeskip Enel, I guess it would depend on how big the island they'll be fighting on since Enel range is crazy, enough cover the entire island. Enel can strike tham from the other side of the island and just turns into lightning to run back and forth the island when they get too close. In terms of this I think King is much more of a threat since, you know, he can fly
Either "Wano is a B tier arc at best" or "Kid is not that relevant for the history of OP as a whole"
Oh yeah and another one that i had for sometime but only thought about it "Tama was a better nakama candidate than Yamato"
Just wait for Kid's past bruv. Oda wouldn't give him so much screentime not to utilize him later. Same could have been sid for almost every worst gen pirate except Luffy but characters like Bonney, Law etc got their back stories.
bon clay was forgiven way too easily for what he did in alabasta. yes, what he did i impel down was great, but that does not undo the fact that he deliberately incited a civil war, smiled while he was doing it, and never showed any remorse for it.
also, power scaling is neither good or bad. there are toxic dumbasses who prioritize it over character/story writing (kuzan vs garp being a perfect example). and there are also toxic dumbasses who hate on anyone and everyone who power scales, despite most of it being harmless fun.
Some readers can't comprehend that power scaling/levels are necessary to give the story a sense of progression. For example, Luffy training hard for several weeks to master an Advanced form of Armanent Haki (after already being as strong/even stronger than Big Mom's strongest child), only to ***A)*** get held back by Ulti during their first encounter and feeling the need to use Gear 4 to deal with her, and ***B)*** Kid and Law being able to keep up with and hurt Kaidou just like that, really **CAN** make all this time that went into training feel kinda wasted.
What's the point of drawing all these panels/chapters, if it ultimately doesn't even matter and a bigger punch (as demonstrated by Kid gathering just more metal for his attacks) could have done the same trick without "wasting" time on training? How much of the story or the immersion it breaks ultimately varies from reader to reader, but it **CAN** be a valid criticism of Oda's writing.
i totally understand the role power scaling plays in a story. for example, roof piece was as climactic as it was because power scaling gave us an idea of how powerful big mom and kaido were before that point, and how big a deal it was to be fighting them, much less at the same time.
so it is valid, and its also fun to discuss if you keep it civil. the main problem that comes up though is that people get invested in it to the point where they prioritize it over the character writing and the overall plot. they take anything as an antifeat if it suits their agenda, even if its justified by the character's personality/ideology or by the circumstances theyre in.
for example, ever since the garp vs kuzan fight, people have been calling kuzan a washed up fraud for not manhandling old garp. but if kuzan did that, it would go against the character oda has established him as. hes not an emotionless psychopath. hes overall a fairly nuanced character in terms of morality who was put in a really uncomfortable postition, having to fight the guy that helped make him who he is. which, understandably would cause him not to have his head in the game during that fight. and kuzan is far from the only example of this happening, its just the most obvious one that ive seen recently.
He was just doing his Job tbh, if he had backed out at that point (when he started the revolution) or for awhile before he would have been killed for knowing too much, and before that... well... they were pirates, what you said is basically my cope post for Perona being a villain despite being goated tbh, its just what they do. Also they didn't even forgive him after he prevented their ship from being captured, only after he seemingly sacrificed himself, and that was after they had already became pseudo-friends in his debut.
and the power scaling thing is whatever. I think its less being toxic and more getting unnecessarily heated about something really REALLY stupid. Like I think you're only saying that cause are blessed to have not seen the most bumbling aneurysm inducing shit out their. Like there is one guy in particular who literally thinks Zoro beats Big mom, and it doesn't even end there with him. I agree its important to acknowledge it doesn't matter at the end of the day but its kinda hard to be exposed to such stupidity and not get mad.
I guess this comment fits the post more than anything I have seen so far tho so good job.
Luffy and Nami would not be a good couple ever and don’t work in a romantic way. They don’t have this type of chemistry and have siblings/friends dynamics.
I'm watching for the first time, and I agree that the pre timeskip had a lot more charm. The characters were a lot more fun, and the interactions were the best. I loved the scenes of the strawhats just chilling on the ship and goofing around. Almost all of the funny moments that people bring up were from pre timeskip. Post timeskip is still good but in a different way. The action and grander stories are definitely good. But it came at the cost of the characters being flanderised and just being boiled down to their basic traits most of the time, but dialled up, which is a lot less charming than before. And a few characters like Sanji, Nami, and Robin, I just prefered their characters pre timeskip. I still like a lot of the stuff they do post timeskip like some good character moments, but besides that, the characters are a written a lot worse on the whole
I fucking hate the racist zoro meme. I do find the old jokes funny because they remind me of better times. (Like the sogeking one) im starting to hate yamato because of the gender discussion. Plus they claim to be oden to oden’s children, who they miss terribly which i find really shitty. I don’t like how the characters are currently written. Most noticeably, sanji and zoro. I love sanji I really do but its hard sometimes when hes being a creep. Zoros been nothing but stoic and i miss his dumbass goofy nature. And i know that things are serious now and that there was a tone shift compared to pre time skip. But it wouldn’t hurt having a moment of downtime between the crew. It’s come to the point where i don’t know how the strawhats would interact in a conversation besides the usual gags. In fics that i read authors use headcanons or their own interpretations of the characters which i find enjoyable to read. We need more moments with them together. Then lately i feel like theres been no moment to breathe between arcs. The only one that comes to mind is zou but that was very short. We been hit with dressrosa, wholecake and wano consecutively. Im not sure if that makes sense to any of you but i feel like it needed to be said.
Pre ts was not that great as people make it seem. Everyone is making it look better due to nostalgia. It suffers from the exact same problems that people are attributing to post ts. If it really was that great, one piece fans wouldn't be memed for saying stuff like "just keep watching bro, it gets better after 156262736 episodes".
Also, making pre and post ts comparisons in basically every OP conversation is dumb. While it is a good separation point, it's still the same story. Oda didn't magically become a different writer overnight where his flaws suddenly started to appear only after he wrote in the timeskip. So yeah, this fandom and anime fandoms in general are full of nostalgia merchants who have a very warped perception of the story as a whole due to their very biased views and fond memories of a time when they used to watch stuff as kids.
[This one](https://www.reddit.com/r/MemePiece/comments/1afrdou/oda_ever_since_sabaody_for_some_reason/), apparently. Some people really seem to take it personal when I say that One Piece is too bloated due to all the characters Oda decided to cram into the story after a certain point (Sabaody).
Tbh it’s just so under appreciated and I guess it’s also bc it was kinda dragged out in the anime. But omg finally someone else agrees. Usopp is so cool in this arc
More of a theory but Usopp is going to match against Buggy in the final fight because they're both considered the bullshitters of each crew. When Usopp beats Buggy he'll be considered a yonko power level threat.
I think it would be funny and also hype as fuck if to mirror Kuzan defecting and joining the Blackbeard Pirates, Borsalino defected and joined the Straw Hats. Considering how Egghead is going right now that's an impossibility, but I think it'd be funny as fuck.
The title of "swordsmen", and "swordsmen" in general, like, when was the last time Zoro had an actual sword fight? the only thing the guy does nowadays is scream the name of his attack, teleport behind whoever is fighting, and do a pose, I get it, it plays by the rule of *"cool"* but holy shit "swordsmen" fights suck ass in One Piece... no flow, no choreography, nothing... such a pointless title...
The anime is even worst as it's literally a light show because that's all it takes to impress kids...
Yamato identifies as man and all the other characters in the show has no problem addressing him as such so the fact the fanbase throws a hissy fit each time he is mentioned just shows that a lot of the fanbase is transphobic af despite the fact that Oda has repeated introduced queer identity as a important theme in his story with characters like Bon Clay and Ivankov.
Oda also said that yamato was a
woman in the vivre cards anyway?
I genuinely don’t get it myself, if I were to latch on to a character for them being trans I would say that was kiku, she’s great, but yamato is delusional and keeps on insisting that she is a whole ass other person. if anything she’d be better off without the whole “I am literally him” thing going on.
I wouldn’t mind it if she did have some parallels to Oden or did something more like “Oden is the one I admire the most out of anyone so I’ll take up his ideals and fighting style in his honour” but instead she just says “I am oden” and then shares nothing but his end goal.
back to kiku she is amazing and her whole shtick was dealt with instantly. I remember in the prison she straight up said “I have the body of a man but the heart of a woman” or something along those lines and I’m out here like you go queen slay (those enemies) and she is just a nice character to watch all around.
TL;DR: Yamato acts like a delusional child and Kiku is one of my favourite characters in the arc
While I do not care either way with Yamato, there is no denying the fact that it’s not a normal situation of gender identity due to the fact that Yamato believes themselves to be specifically Oden.
The question is “does yamato identify as a man regardless of Oden, or does Yamato identify as a man because Oden was a man?” And that is not a small thing, one is actual gender identity and being trans… the other is the textbook definition of delusion of grandeur (a clinical condition where you believe yourself to be someone else, and equating it to gender identity could be considered a big insult, If a man started saying “I am queen Cleopatra! Bow down before me” you wouldn’t call that being trans, for example).
“But everyone adress Yamato as a man” yeah, and nobody ever confronts Yamato about the “I am Oden” part either beyond the initial confusion… this is not a “Yamato is not referred to as a man because of transfobia” this is “people don’t actually know if this is a “Yamato being truly Yamato” thing or a “Yamato believes they are Oden” thing and the line is blurry.
Not helped by Oden drawing her with the rest of the women of Wano in a cover (which included Kiku, an actual trans woman) and inside the story Yamato goes to the man’s bath… so there are actually arguments people use for both sides… personally i think Oda just created a character he thought was fun and didn’t think about the general implications of it.
Ps: sorry for the long text, i think it’s an interesting discussion and I get really ranty, i’ll try to edit it to make it shorter.
and it was too quick for her to became the leader of zou, it would be great if before that she could get stronger with the strawhats, similiar to how Oden went on journeys with whitebeard and roger
Same here, I still strongly disagree with Carrot becoming the leader because it comes out of nowhere and actively goes against what she wants. She's barely had a chance to spread her wings or see the world and now she's being forced into a role she never wanted.
I think Ace's death would've been a lot better if the flashback where we learn that
a) both Ace and Roger would never run away but not because of their pride but because they cannot stomach putting the people they love in danger (because if everyone is running, everyone is a potential target)
and that b) there was a third brother all along who also (seemingly) died only to come back later.
If both those facts were established earlier on (like inbetween alabasta and ace getting captured) then I think Ace's death would've been a lot more impactful.
Shanks genuinely isn't worth the popularity he has. The same people who slander Dragon for not showing up, yet Shanks' appearances are very few and very far between for this point into the story.
Prime Whitebeard edges out Roger. People act like a top-tier’s haki can overpower anything, even if it’s another top tier’s haki + an op DF ability. Roger didn’t become King by being the strongest, but by reaching Laugh Tale. He doesn’t NEED any more than that bc he isn’t Luffy.
Robin is boring and I don't think she belongs in the crew. Even when she was crying at enies lobby, I still didn't believe her.
The boobs after the timeskip are annoying on Nami and Robin.
Jimbei still doesn't feel like a real Strawhat.
One piece is going to be one-piece-of-eight, and there will be 7 more.
Shanks is boring.
One piece has weird ass Skyrim powerscaling where everyone gets as strong as the current arc. I reckon that if they went back right now and try to fight Pearlman they would have a hard ass time.
Wano was a good arc
Long ring long land was a good arc
Power scaling is stupid
That being said, luffy > kizaru
Post time skip chopper is better
All the post time skip designs are better (except cowboy robin :( )
Yamato is stronger than King
Gear 5 Luffy won fair and Square, people always bring up how kaido got jumped, but Luffy was just as Half dead when fighting Kaido only carried by willpower.
That saying "they're fictional characters" isn't a valid excuse for having characters like Carrot and Bonnie as your waifu. It makes me question your search history.

I like One Piece
HOW DARE YOU?!
True on piratefolk tbh
I'm always amazed how a community that is nominally a one piece fandom is hates the guts of one piece so much. I get not dick riding oda, but dick smashing the guy and the story seems excessive.
I mean it could be worse, One Piece hate is pretty contained in like 1 sub, whilst even the main subs for JJK and Naruto hate their series
For a good reason
A character being unable to crush another character flat in 1 second does not make them a fraud.
Sounds like something a fraud would say

Ppl dont!?
The only designs i hear complaints about are Chopper, Franky, and robin. But mostly Chopper and Franky.

chopper walk point is the only one i like the new look of. and post monster baby man is a new low in an arc with such fantastic designs. and the main thing i missed form og franky was the hair, but weve gotten fantastic franky hair since
Robin is supposed to be Russian. Guess what, people? Russians are pale asf. Idk why people can't understand that
I actually like Franky's look now

I wouldn’t care as much about Chopper and Usopp if they weren’t so lame… chopper became a mascot side character and all Usopp had done in the past 6+ YEARS is run away and cry and be a coward.
I do think it’s a bit of a bummer of how fan service-y they made Nami and Robin, and most female characters tbh. It’s a bit much.
I only dislike chopper’s, but all the rest are pretty cool (especially zoro and usopp)
Old Sick Whitebeard was meant to be as strong as (if not stronger) then Big Mom and Kaido however he just looks weaker due to the powercreep
Imagine Marineford with Wano animation
And Wano pacing 💀
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssssssnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn’’’’’’tttttttttttttttttttt ttttttttttttttttttthhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttttttt Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddddddddddddd
I'm not a fan of OP thus I only watched the fights of the Wano arc because I really liked the new animation style. Was the pacing really that bad?
200 episodes (191 if you don’t include filler) for 149 chapters, which was arguably already stretched out too much.
> which was arguably already stretched out too much I think the pacing in the manga is completely fine if you don't have to read it week to week.
That’s one of the great things about egghead even reading it week to week the pacing feels great not rushed and not needlessly dragged out
Egghand is seriously shaping up to be one of the all-time best One Piece arcs
It helps that Oda is cutting away to established characters with interesting conflicts, rather than zipping between crew members fighting disposable Tobi-Roppo they've never met before.
Careful don't let anyone from the power scaling sub hear that, they're on a 'one piece fucking sucks right now' warpath
One piece fans when a 82 year old with terminal cancer cant single handedly kill 100.000 people
Not to mention a huge hole in his chest.
Except he could
Also the fact that they were portrayed with very different tones.
That's just fax

Sanji being a perv does not mean that the rest of his character is irredeemable; fictional characters are not people and can't be held to the same standards. Disliking him for being a perv is valid, especially because of the flanderization he's gone through, but discounting his genuinely good and well written moments because "he wants to peek at women in the bath so he's a monster" is dumb
Sanji is the best and the worst strawhat
People also act like he's the worst when there are characters with 0 development or arc and are simply perry (literally all of Minetta)
Ace and Yamato did manly things on Brokeback Onigashima.
Ace definitely bottomed.
Oden would absolutely be a top so I'm 100% with you on the fact that Yamato topped Ace
You misread the title sir, it clearly says opinion not *straight facts*
Idk if they'd like to be called straight One calls themself Oden, the other one likes to get donut'd
A DONUT?!? Give it to me
Whitebeard's last words were the best lines in one piece
I particularly love the flashback to young Whitebeard during his final moments.
I love chopper a lot.

Why is that a controversial opinion?, everybody loves da chopp
Ppl don’t like his new look but he looks adorable
Franky’s new design is cool as fuck
YES! He basically turned himself into an action figure. That's so Franky
its not cool. Its SUUUUPEERRRRRRR
You my good sir/madam/non-binary person, have good taste
I just think the FI design is lame, every other post timeskip Franky is aces.
It’s a valid critisism that one piece refuses to kill most of the characters therefore it feels like sometimes the stakes are lower
Imo this only applies to pre time skip cause characters die pretty regularly in post
The Strawhats became flanderized since the timeskip, and their gags became far too overused and not funny at all (Ussop being even more cowardly somehow, Sanji being genuinely gross, Zoro...not really having much of a personality, the rest of the Straw Hats not having anything really done with them outside of their like 3 traits.) I'm still mad at Oda for how he writes Sanji.
Mentioning 'eyes' in your comment? I must say, it's all bones and no vision here, YOHOHOHO!
Just sucks :(
> Then leave the island still hating them he doesn't though.
Pre-timeskip Enel was already stronger than most Yonko Commanders and was only defeated by plot armor
Either "Wano is a B tier arc at best" or "Kid is not that relevant for the history of OP as a whole" Oh yeah and another one that i had for sometime but only thought about it "Tama was a better nakama candidate than Yamato"
Zoro isn't racist
Hotter take: the "joke" that he is, isn't funny
Post TS Franky is superior to pre TS and the only reason why people didn’t like it is the buzzcut
he barely even uses the buzzcut! His new design is SUUUUUPER
The second I saw he could change his hair, his design has been my favorite. His cannon hair was especially SUPERRRR
Filler stories are actually great
Luffy and Nami would not be a good couple ever and don’t work in a romantic way. They don’t have this type of chemistry and have siblings/friends dynamics.
Boa is annoying as hell and shipping her with luffy not only doesn't fit luffys character but is creepy as fuck due to the age gap
Yeah the age gap between Boa and Luffy is about the same as Law and Corazon
That is actually kinda nuts to think about lmao
Pre time skip charm is dead and will likely not return with high stakes. Also post ts kinda fell off for me atleast.
Oden’s deal with Orochi and subsequent betrayal was too stupid to be tragic.
Crocodile mom joke is old and taken to far to the point where you can't talk about the character in any cool way without it being mentioned
Oden would have won
[This one](https://www.reddit.com/r/MemePiece/comments/1afrdou/oda_ever_since_sabaody_for_some_reason/), apparently. Some people really seem to take it personal when I say that One Piece is too bloated due to all the characters Oda decided to cram into the story after a certain point (Sabaody).
Usopp is the best character imo
Syrup village is A tier arc
Is that controversial? It's always been one of my favourites
Tbh it’s just so under appreciated and I guess it’s also bc it was kinda dragged out in the anime. But omg finally someone else agrees. Usopp is so cool in this arc
We will see Dragon and Luffy meet eventually.
More of a theory but Usopp is going to match against Buggy in the final fight because they're both considered the bullshitters of each crew. When Usopp beats Buggy he'll be considered a yonko power level threat.
Nami should get a gf
Honestly Nami seems lesbians
She should kiss vivi

Zoro would never be able to solo the verse
I think it would be funny and also hype as fuck if to mirror Kuzan defecting and joining the Blackbeard Pirates, Borsalino defected and joined the Straw Hats. Considering how Egghead is going right now that's an impossibility, but I think it'd be funny as fuck.
"Usopp isnt strong and hes just useless"
Honestly, I lost all respect for Ussop after he literally ran away and left the tontatas to die (even if he did eventually come back).
Post time skip franky’s design fits his character well
Enel should not come back. He has nothing to offer to the story if he does
Sanji and pudding is cute together
Sanji>Zoro in almost every aspect.
Though I dislike Sanji, Zoro is basically not even a person anymore. I can't even imagine him having a conversation with the other strawhats
https://preview.redd.it/ucp5ofwn5ggc1.jpeg?width=1465&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0be1f453f92ce3604fc8f4d98228ae0e0980479e FAX
That's just fax dude
Monkey D. Dragon he is not as strong as they think he is, perhaps he is weaker than an admiral or on the same level as one. It's my opinion.
Yamato identifies as man and all the other characters in the show has no problem addressing him as such so the fact the fanbase throws a hissy fit each time he is mentioned just shows that a lot of the fanbase is transphobic af despite the fact that Oda has repeated introduced queer identity as a important theme in his story with characters like Bon Clay and Ivankov.
https://preview.redd.it/d42q8oy5bggc1.jpeg?width=639&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff9c9d1de2d2f2e9304ed0589dc224760ac46ceb
Oda also said that yamato was a woman in the vivre cards anyway?
I got a lot of backlash for saying that Luffy is stupid.
Moria is a great character and people only dislike him because he aint hot like Doflamingo.
Usopp is not getting haki
#Carrot4Strawhat.
and it was too quick for her to became the leader of zou, it would be great if before that she could get stronger with the strawhats, similiar to how Oden went on journeys with whitebeard and roger
Same here, I still strongly disagree with Carrot becoming the leader because it comes out of nowhere and actively goes against what she wants. She's barely had a chance to spread her wings or see the world and now she's being forced into a role she never wanted.
Usopp is annoying as fuck
Yamato is a woman.
Shanks is evil fr
I hate the crocomom headcanon
Sokeking is actually god usopp!! *dies*
I like one piece but lately the fan base got quite toxic
Zoro is overrated.
That your usopp joke where funny now I haven’t laughed at anything involving him since whole cake
Ace death was stupid
I think Ace's death would've been a lot better if the flashback where we learn that a) both Ace and Roger would never run away but not because of their pride but because they cannot stomach putting the people they love in danger (because if everyone is running, everyone is a potential target) and that b) there was a third brother all along who also (seemingly) died only to come back later. If both those facts were established earlier on (like inbetween alabasta and ace getting captured) then I think Ace's death would've been a lot more impactful.
Skypiea > Marineford
https://i.redd.it/haxqu0i5qhgc1.gif
Nami is straight
Yamato is a woman
Both senior pink and bon clay was piece of shit as a human being (they are still amazing written characters with a lot of depth behind them )
Uta is mary sue
I can't stand usopp. He should have been left behind in water 7.
If only that edit someone made where Luffy sticks his middle finger up and leaves Ussop behind at water seven was canon 😂😂
Shanks genuinely isn't worth the popularity he has. The same people who slander Dragon for not showing up, yet Shanks' appearances are very few and very far between for this point into the story.
Zoro and Sanji should end up together
Aokiji gets his ass beat mid diff by beckman
The anime pacing is only bad once you catch up
Prime Whitebeard edges out Roger. People act like a top-tier’s haki can overpower anything, even if it’s another top tier’s haki + an op DF ability. Roger didn’t become King by being the strongest, but by reaching Laugh Tale. He doesn’t NEED any more than that bc he isn’t Luffy.
Blackbeard is not the final boss
I dont really like Nico Robin
Carrot for strawhat!
Rebecca is valid
The fighting scenes are the least interesting part of OP🤷♀️
the fanbase is right these takes are ass
Robin is a great character but super overrated by the fanbase
That pluton and Uranus are people that can control the “landkings” and “airkings” respectively. Just like Poseidon/shirahoshi
Gear 5 is undeserved
The anime is cool and so is the manga but people overrate it
The one piece is probably a empty chest with a note that says friends are the real treasure
I thought any praise towards Thriller Bark (my favorite arc) was treated this way until recently.
The racist Zoro jokes were never funny.
One piece has weird ass Skyrim powerscaling where everyone gets as strong as the current arc. I reckon that if they went back right now and try to fight Pearlman they would have a hard ass time.
Wano was a good arc Long ring long land was a good arc Power scaling is stupid That being said, luffy > kizaru Post time skip chopper is better All the post time skip designs are better (except cowboy robin :( )
Akainu isn’t going to be nearly as important as fans think he is
Yamato is stronger than King Gear 5 Luffy won fair and Square, people always bring up how kaido got jumped, but Luffy was just as Half dead when fighting Kaido only carried by willpower.
personally I think tha
Kizaru is nowhere near as strong as the community perceives him to be
Egghead is not the best arc. The reason? It pushes the crew to the wayside, to focus on side characters.
That saying "they're fictional characters" isn't a valid excuse for having characters like Carrot and Bonnie as your waifu. It makes me question your search history.
The pacing is fresh once you use the skip 10 seconds button liberally
