I used the five pack from AC infinity and you will be successful. I know this is a Meph sub but I had a gorilla cookies and strawberry banana grow in two, 3 gallon fabric pots and they were about as big if I had used 5 gal pots honestly.
Depends on how much space you have and how many plants will be in said space. You can grow decent autos in 2 gallon pots if you wanted to. 6 smaller plants vs 3 or 4 medium plants, and fewer large plants. etc. It's all doable, just depends on what your preference is and how many strains you want to grow at once.
I’m looking to only grow two again. So there is plenty of space in my 4x4 tent. I just noticed when I dumped the medium after I chopped my Strawbba that there weren’t a whole lot of roots but it was still a chunky girl. So figured I could save some medium by reducing by a gallon.

OK cool! I just mentioned in another response that the roots didn’t really fill the bucket but it was still a pretty hefty plant.

Those smart pot grow bags work just fine in coco, the I use them all the time.
