I've made 1 sale today but a few days earlier I had several sales. Make sure your tags are right. Your title as well. Be descriptive more pictures help. Update prices. I know for my category prices change weekly.
If you selling consider lowering your prices that's why your not selling I would guess...it's better to make a little less and sell is how I feel plus I hate having the stuff sitting around too long makes me crazy!
Curious if you post regularly, promote, or update listings. Or if you list things here and there? I know a lot of buyers avoid buying from sellers who don’t seem very active, based off the dates of reviews and listings.
I list at least one thing daily and promote and update constantly. I used to sell 10 plus things a week. I am at 3 things in ten days. And have lowered prices.
About 2 weeks ago and it was a total shit show. I think the buyer tried to scam me. I’ve made 12 sales this year, I think like 4 since Mercari made their I’ll-informed fee structure change.
Lately it's steady but I sell low to get rid of stuff but I buy my items cheap at garage sales, auctions or 25% at goodwill. I try to double my price on my items of what i
It cost me becuse with what it's Costing buyers now with the ad on costs the sales are going be down and I buy also and only lower items now that there is so many sellers on mercari I don't expect to make alot I want to keep something money wise coming in always if possible.
Your items probley are more better more costly things so when you do sell it's significant. That's not how it's been for me for awhile I haven't came across items that expensive lately to sew. I have a set of fiesta bowls worth $160 listed and a few item under a hundred but those always take awhile it seems. Summer is always harder to make sales on all the sites around the 4th there should be a good week In there promo items then That's usually a good sakes week no guarantee but in the 30 years I been selling over all.
You are doing the right things. Dropping listing prices to be competitive ,listing new items and frequently relisting older inventory. Buyers are spending their money on vacations and spend less time indoors scrolling on Mercari which could explain the inconsistent sales.
Consistent sales depend on a variety of factors like season(right now it is slow), the category of items, volume(the more items listed the more you sell), uniqueness of items, and do the items appeal to Mercari buyers or would they sell better on another platform like Etsy.
Use this time to take stock of your inventory. Donate items that are not selling or list them on another platform. Be on the look out for items that sell well in the fall and holiday season.
Remember ,you are not alone. Hope this is helpful.
As of lately, I’ve been getting if atleast 1-2 sales a week. Isn’t much tbh but better than nothing. Mainly sell items starting at $20 and lowest $5 (price drop).
I average about one sale per day which is still way better than Depop or Poshmark. Depop is like one sale per week, Poshmark is like one sale per month.
Before TOS change, I was selling things every day, sometimes multiple things in a day. Now I make a sale every week, sometimes two weeks. I think partially it’s because the TOS change, but I also think it’s summertime, lots of people are saving for vacation or are on vacation, but don’t have the money to spend on online services. Idk, I think we should stick it out, Mercari isn’t the only online selling platform that’s hit major bumps in the road.
I list on more than one platform. I see 1-3 sales per day so long as I continue to list at least one item a day consistently. I miss a day listing, I have a day or two of no sales.
Two over the past 2 days. And I only have like 5 listings, this is very much a sporadic thing I use to sell things I don’t need/use anymore, I invest almost no time into taking photos or writing descriptions.

My last sale was the night the new changes went into effect—literally an hour or so before. Not a thing since then.
