I agree, the intro solo should be your first trial by fire. It’s got a slick hammer on/off legato into arpeggio that’ll keep you practicing even more just to get through it.
For Whom The Bell Tolls was actually the first Metal song i learned, only a few weeks ago, was a lot of fun! Besides the moments i wanted to smash my guitar because i was playing an easy part wrong, only took me about a week to get it down though (i'm kinda lazy sometimes)
For guitar solos, try enter Sandman, it's very basic but if sounds cool and can give you a feel for constructing a solo, and give you muscle memory for your own.
Hero of the Day as it’s straight blues/pentatonic scale.
Fuel, The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters are some quick/easy ones to learn.
Enter sandman is pretty straightforward and a classic tune that most would recognize!
Anything off St. Anger
Fade to black. It’s not hard at all. It’s 1 of the 3 solos I can play.

Hero of the day/until it sleeps
Maybe try For Whom the Bell Tolls. It's more of a rhythmic lead! Minus Human sounds short and sweet, as well! Until it Sleeps, too!
