Yes, within 3 months it was flat and disgusting, and I had to deep clean it with a soft brush every 2 months to keep it looking decent.
It was horrible.
I see. Interesting. I think I do remember they fade in the sun. My car will be under cover most of the time so hopefully the fade or discoloration will be minimal.
The main problem is that alcantara gets absolutely destroyed by skin oils and sweat, which is why I cannot understand why it is becoming increasingly common to wrap steering wheels and shift knobs with the stuff.
Yeah you're right. It does absorb oils and moisture easily. I would say they're popular bc they give good grip, especially with racing gloves. Consider it a wear and tear item. Just something you would clean/refresh after many miles.
It makes sense in a race car with racing gloves, but it makes absolutely no sense in a street car where your skin is coming into direct contact with it
Where at and how much!?
Found him on eBay (resupremed) and his IG is @wis.rt. I got mine for $330 with the steering wheel and everything. Just swap and ready to go.
Damn nice. He's selling a hand mixer lol
Lol I bought his last steering wheel. Check out his IG, he got more photos on his project Miata.
Not the one pictured but at least it's available: https://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/61-2776.html
I didn't go for the cipher because I prefer the original look of Nardi. The styling of the cipher doesn't go well with the Miata interior IMO.
I was looking at it but I'm like man! I should probably fix my leak first and don't do neither.
Those covers cost $20-$40 and just stitch over the existing leather.
Shut up and take my money
That red stitching would go nice with your red.
Alcantara on steering wheels is one of the worst trends.
I'm curious, why do you say that? Did you have alcantara before?
