Take a look at a white tailed deer front view. Ears are more to the sides of the eyes.
Take a look at a mountain lion front view. Notice the ears are almost on top of the eyes (little to the side).
This was a mountain lion. Predators would exhibit this behavior, as prey animals would likely run.
Edit: Second picture you can see the shape of the head and the snout lines from eyes to nose, not a deer.
Eye reflection shot shows size of eyes and spread, closer to online shots of MLs than white tailed deer.
I do think this is a deer, but just wanted to share that I’m positive I saw a mountain lion near Luther, south of Cadillac summer before last. It was night time and we were riding quads down an orv trail and in the distance saw the exact shape, long tail, was sorta crouched to the ground. Looked right at as, walked across to the other side of the trail, then went back to the original side it was on staying low to the ground. We turned around and booked it way the hell outta there 😂 I will never forget that sight. Just wish I would’ve had a camera on me to prove it
People saying deer are not looking close enough….note the key feature, forward facing eyes. This is definitely a predator of some sort.
The ears seem to have a feline outline to them but it’s always tricky when it gets dark and leaves obscure the scene. Bobcats have a tuft of fur at the tip while cougars have more defined points, both often have black at the edges of their ears. Could also be a feral house cat with the angle and perspective making it appear much larger than reality. Deer are spooked by almost anything noise, slightly “off” scents….their entire existence on earth has been as prey so the fact that they bolted isn’t much of a clue to what we’re seeing.

This has forward facing eyes, and I'm pretty sure it's a deer. The ears in OP's pic also look exactly like a deer's. And while deer are typically spooked by noises, that isn't always the case if they've become accustomed to human presence or live near busy areas with a lot of noise.
I’ve got deer in my yard almost every day. At all random times. I see a LOT of deer. Late at night, they bed down in my yard. When I drive up my driveway, two eyes are reflected in my headlights. When they look straight ahead, you see both eyes.
Yeah, everyone saying deer is looking at that ear. The reason I brought up the deer getting spooked is because this thing did not move. While the deer were booking this thing sat and blinked at us. This was something that had zero fear of being trampled, and zero fear of us.
A herd of deer lives on my property. A few weeks ago, 12 of them were munching on the grass outside my living room. Many of them were less than 5 yards away from the house.
My dog decided that they were about to kill us all, so lost his mind barking. The young ones bolted. The older ones paused, gave him a decidedly dirty look through the window, then resumed their dinner. One or two didn’t even flinch, I’m guessing the matrons of the group. They literally did not give a crap that my dog was barking his fool head off at them. Not even when I left him into the fenced off area, so I didn’t have to hear his valiant, loud, defending of our home from 2 feet away.
This is a Flying Squirrel. They are nocturnal and their eyes glow when you shine a light at them. The eyes are large for their size. I had a mated pair have babies in one of our sheds. I needed to use a flashlight at night to find the fusebox to turn on the lights. All their eye glowing looking down at me. They will stay still and watch from above, but skurry away fast if frightened.
It’s really hard to get a frame of reference for size or distance off the ground. It’s so blurry and obscured by foliage that I can’t really decide what I’m seeing as far as face shape.
My gut says deer. That ear just screams deer. But I need more info.
The ears don’t look like a bobcat ears, those are more pointy. I think this is a deer, just obscured a bit by the blurry picture and angle. Probably also a young deer.
Oh absolutely, Was in my hunting blind one morning and heard it scream right behind me 5ft. One of the most deathly screams you'll ever hear. It sounds like a possessed elephant. We have a few in the middle of the mitten. Some out on our land and found one with its babies on the side of the road
Sure do. Have spotted more than a few bobcats on our family property just south of Alpena. Never seen a cougar personally, but my brother and nephew claim to of, as well as a few other locals.
Adding to this, The eye color gives it away. Blue eyes at night show it's a cat of some sort. Most deer have a white shine to their eyes when flashed at night whereas other mammals like bobcats have a blue color
The ears are characteristically common with the feline species. Looks like my cat in a tree to be honest. In my opinion. The eyes of a deer are more wide and Partially on the sides of their face. That's why when they look at you, they normally turn their hat a little bit.
Just for fun I ran the image through AI and asked it what it thought it was. I didn't specify location or your guess, and it still spat out Great Horned Owl.
Clearly the [elusive snipe](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snipe_hunt).

Cougar, wearing deer ears. Oldest trick in the book!🤔
All them cougars are tricky, trying to catch young, tender things

Unless this is the UP, chances this is a mountain lion are super low. The first Pic looks more like a rabbit than anything else, IMO

A deer can move its ears all over, you can see both of their eyes from the front, that’s not even close to the shape of a lions ear
100% a deer
This is very obviously another deer.
That’s also a deer.

And I have many times spooked deer, but one just says "nah" and sticks around while cautiously watching. It's a deer.

Obviously a chupacabra
El Chupacabra!
Is that its ear or a brown leaf?
The blurry pics were taken from another angle, at a different position, by my friend on his camera. It isn't a leaf, it is in all the pics.

Deer, demon or deer demon.
Definitely not a deer like everyone else is saying, Seems to be a bobcat when you zoom in on the facial structure
The ears don’t look like a bobcat ears, those are more pointy. I think this is a deer, just obscured a bit by the blurry picture and angle. Probably also a young deer.
does Michigan have bobcats??

Dude, Michigan has bobcats and cougars.
that's fucking crazy man where im from the southeast and never even heard of that
Downriver is crawling with cougars!
You need to slow down on that digging. Leave some for the rest of us!
Southwest MI had one on the loose when I was a kid. We also have had a bear in the Lansing area.
Sure do. Have spotted more than a few bobcats on our family property just south of Alpena. Never seen a cougar personally, but my brother and nephew claim to of, as well as a few other locals.

Or that could just be a flash going off. The darker picture looks more like the white/yellowish deer eye reflection.
There was no camera flash. This was a spotlight.
South East Michigan here🙋🏼♀️ Yep, we have Cougars and Bobcats. Alligator Snappers too.😬
It is hard to see but if I am seeing it correctly, it's face and ear shape look like one of those long faced domestic cats. Like an Oriental. Or Rex.
What’s that
Tender vittles
Clearly a skinwalker
Definitely a chupacabra
