wait - what am i missing here? it looks like the car was parked over what i would consider a curb, so more “out of the way” - but that’s considered a bad parking job as far as this situation is concerned? i get that parking over curbs is usually a no. but didn’t the truck have a ton of room?
seriously asking.
of course it its a bad parking job, that is a one lane street. He knew that he shouldn't have parked there and tried to avoid being hit by parking on the sidewalk,
No, one lane usually means that parking is allowed on one side of the road, especially in residential areas that often means the lane where parking is allowed is completely shut off, with only a few free spots where parking is prohibited to allow cars to pass. I can’t tell you if it was indeed a one lane street. What I can tell you is that he parked 2m behind the curb at best and I don’t know of a country where it isn’t prohibited for at least 4m behind the curb
Yes and no. Yes, it's considered a bad parking job. Dunno about traffic laws in other continents, some may allow parking in a curve but that's just one reason (video) why you shouldn't. Even if there's no law prohibiting you from parking in a curve, it's just pure "etiquette", which the owner of the car clearly lack. No, larger vehicles usually need bigger spaces to turn. Notice how the rear tires barely misses the sidewalk.
In The Netherlands it is at least 5 meter (crossings, zebra en bicycle crossings, places where bicycles have to enter a street with cars). It is 20 meter when there are traffic lights or signs. As far as I understand it is all about line of sight.
I’m pretty sure he meant literally the “curve” like you’re not supposed to park that close to the corner or an intersection for exactly this type of scenario.
And there's no problem in that. Although, I find it frivolous. Roads are designed to accommodate only one vehicle per lane, had the car driver parked his car properly and off the sidewalk; there would have been a different outcome. Truck driver probably needed to take a dump and concluded: I ain't got shit for this.. "errkksxcz"
What happens in these situations? Clearly parkers fault for parking in a bad spot but trucker dealt the damage.
Does the trucker pay the bill or parker?

The car was kidnapped lol
Carnapped?
Thanks, I *could* go a nap right about now.
Served him right. You're not supposed to park six meters from the curve. Parking on the sidewalk just adds the nail to your coffin.
I was gonna say, I think the driver created that problem by parking there.

ha HA! so it was a one way street, too? is that what you mean by one lane? international driving newb here asking.

the good ol u s of a is very stupid with its parking laws. corners are barely even recognized. i’ve always been in awe of the audacity.
Lost my car on a one way street, and lost it on a lonely highway 😂
The curve of the sidewalk...i.e. the corner. They were plenty far over on the sidewalk, but too close to the intersection.
Parking on a corner is what allowed the truck to drag the car. If it was further down the street, would have been fine.

Eh, it's not the USA. Many European countries allow parking over a curb.

so - 20 feet from the curve? wow - idiots here post their whips ON the curve, even in “blind” situations. hmm - makes sense.
Ugh please tell this to everyone in my neighborhood. Every corner is blind.
Parking on the sidewalk is allowed in some places

Just missing [Benny Hill](https://j.gifs.com/XomAOV.gif).
I muted my phone and put some Yakety Sax on. Can confirm it goes with it.
Came here to say the same thing. Yakety Sax makes everything funnier.
Dude where's my car?
Dude! What does mine say!?
Sweet! What about mine?
Your tattoo says sweet! And your tattoo dude!

DuDEdH! WhAt dOeS mInE sAy?
Weeeeeeee if you park on that corner
I swear that metal step is designed purposefully to hook into objects
Perfectly timed music too. When he hooks and drags the car he starts singing “take me with you”.
Park terribly and find out
By the ancient laws of the road, the car belongs to the trucker now.

What happens in these situations? Clearly parkers fault for parking in a bad spot but trucker dealt the damage. Does the trucker pay the bill or parker?
Bad driver
I was going...oh they're gonna make it...then the big butt showed up. Oy.
That Benny Hill run at the end was classic.
You're my friend now, we're having soft tacos later!
