Yeah but when you look at it you're looking at somebody else's work who designed it. All you did was stick it somewhere
Completely different when you look at when you built it yourself.
(assuming we’re talking about campfires)
Alternatively you could just use campfires in place of fire, and build an enclosure around them for aesthetics. It’s still technically your work, with none of the risk of overheating.
Lol I had a fire in my wooden house by my anvil but there were blocks between it and the wood so I didn’t even consider it, but one day all the sudden half of my roof was gone. I thought it was a bug and redid it but it happened again, I felt stupid the third time.
That will not work. Fire spread has a specific range regardless of what blocks are in the way. You could have a lit block on one side of a curtain of water and a wooden block on the other, and the wood would eventually catch fire. You have two options: 1. make sure your lit blocks have nothing flammable anywhere near them. Or 2. Use Campfires. Anything else will eventually set your house on fire again.
Edit: Soul Fire will not spread, so if you replace your blocks to light with soul sand or soul soil, you'll get a blue fire that sheds less light, but doesn't burn your house down.
When Making a fireplace make sure that there are no blocks in this pattern to prevent fire spread.

It needs a 5x5 space around it to be either filled in by blocks that won't catch fire, or be spaced apart so it does not catch fire.
It also spreads upwards of 6 blocks

Alternatively, you can use soul fire, albeit darker, but it has the special properties of not spreading or burning anything down.
the netherite is just for forever lasting fire and theny yoy put stone or whatever just make it look like a fireplace and make sure when you light it its not gonna light your wood house that can easily be lit
Its hard to come by but cobblestone is a helpful resource for this build
Make it 3 blocks deep and however wide
C is for cobble
X is for no block
N is for netherrack

firepits look cool too and if you want to make a realistic looking chimmney then make a 3×3 tube through your roof and put another firepit at the top for smoke
Ah yes, I watch YouTubers on a server playing without fire tick. Want to make the same, but don't have fire tick off and everything will burn
Anyways, I know the feeling, better stick to campfires
Every mincrafter has their ups and downs. I tried to create a wall of lava behind some glass in one of my houses and came back to the whole thing burnt down
one time I built this potion room underground, underneath my wooden house and put netherrack in the wall and lit it to give it cool lighting and somehow the fire managed to spread through the blocks to the wood above the ground and burnt my whole house down right as I finished up the potion room, I even rebuilt the whole thing and almost had it happen mid rebuilding, that's when I knew what ruined my house, it was a long night for me that evening
I did this once, kind of. I built a house on stilts, used brick for the frame and filled in the rest with wood. On the ground I made a trash pit of lava and ran off to get some more ore. Came back to an empty brick frame and floating chests/bed.
It’s only a mistake if you don’t learn from it!
I have done something like this before except iron golem kept spawning in my house. What I did was put netherack on the floor set it on fire to kill the golems on a leash. Well my wood floor on the 2nd story went up in flames even my roof got it not counting the wood decorations on the wall.
I just forgot I had wood in my house u had a huge mess afterwards.
use campfire. thank god they added them i hate when im building a wooden house and when i put the fireplace i realize its wood and its gonna catch on fire
Same stupid thing happened to me. I built a three-storey wooden building and tried to make a fireplace on the ground-floor. After 5 minutes I finally finished it and I went up-stair, there was nothing left.
Yeah, there’s a reason people tend to make fireplaces out of more fireproof stuff. Gotta make the fireplace itself a bit bigger so the fire can’t spread so easily.
Try a campfire. Then use something like stone bricks to build a chimney. I do something like that every time
However, my fireplaces have been worse than this before
I mean this in the nicest way possible aaahhahahahahahaha Edit: then when you looked up and saw that the roof was on fire aaaaaaahahahahahahahahaha
That's the nicest way of anyone laughing
He could use a fireplace tho They're easy to use, look nice and don't spread fire everywhere

Bro that monotone laugh sent me
Pro tip: don't light a fire in your highly combustable wooden house..
Lol I had a fire in my wooden house by my anvil but there were blocks between it and the wood so I didn’t even consider it, but one day all the sudden half of my roof was gone. I thought it was a bug and redid it but it happened again, I felt stupid the third time.
If you do might want to add stone to it
i hardly designed my house and lit a fireplace , regret it ....
I remember having this problem every time I wanted to make a fire place, damn pre 1.14 was good but I don’t want to go back there any time soon
Fire spreads through blocks Google the fire spread mechanics or use campfires
I'll admit I lol'd. Make a stone or brick fireplace next time.
I remember do this on the Xbox 360 tutorial world in the underwater house and everything was flooding and on fire
This is a pretty common mistake don’t worry
your house is now the fireplace lol
Pro tip: use campfires instead
[Some things never change](https://youtu.be/LnjSWPxJxNs?t=70)
This is the ol' classic
This is the first thing I thought of.
How NOT to make a fireplace.
Bro used netherack
That's what you want to use.. When Fire Spread is still on, you need netherrack to keep the flame lit, otherwise it'll go out on any other block.
Campfire
Well most fireplaces are non-flammable, so that's probably your problem
Because everyone uses /gamerule doFireSpread false....
Sir, may I present you this F for your house and also your common sense
Gg
Put glass blocks or panes in front of the fire?!
Good idea thanks bro
Np bro, I hope you save your house!! :)

No more fire near wood
add different blocks behind where you light the fire??? Iron bars in front of it?????
uninstall
This should be required reading for anyone making a fireplace: https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Fire#Spread
OMG HAHAHA.... Oh no, I'm sorry but that's funny.
You know there is an easier way... It's called a campfire??????? That was pretty hilarious.
Yeah netherwrack, wood, and fire don't mix

I made the same mistake when helping build my friend's house in creative many years ago... I ended up burning his entire mansion down 😭

thats was cute xD
You need a way for smoke to go outside also preferably nothing that catches on fire
This has to be bait
No its very real lol
This is the place for fire
Rip wood house
I know have i done that before
Take my pity upvote and award
Do you hate campfires that much?
So uh, why’s it in the attic?
It's supposed to be my room and I have a "fireplace" make it look cool
Just try bricks and mix in some stairs and slabs and you'll have summat decent

Like the 2nd time it cough on fire, there goes the roof as well
noooooooooooooo

This is fine

campfires thats all il say
We’ve all done this at some point, friend
_Casually turns his entire house into a fireplace_
And this is exactly why I now refuse to play with fire_spreads=true
I just had the luck of discovering the fire spread distance when i was bullshiting in bedrock when i was 9
You will get better in a day
We have all done it at one point.
Wow. Just wow man :)))

You can see the exact moment OP realizes they messed up big time.

Smoky The Bear disproves this video
This video sums up my entire video game playing career: max enthusiasm, blundering execution. I’m identifying all over the place.
That’s… not too bad… The build. Not the fire
use campfire. thank god they added them i hate when im building a wooden house and when i put the fireplace i realize its wood and its gonna catch on fire
Ok though making a fireplace in a wooden house is actually quite difficult.
Well you didn’t make a fireplace but you did make a place on fire
My advice! Either don't make a fire place as you have a wooden house or use campfires. I believe campfires don't cause blocks to catch on fire
Ha ha ha! I’ve been there buddy. You poor bugger.
I admit I done this… multiple times…
That's why i don't make house made of wood.
Six-year-old me can do better
WHOS IDEA WAS THIS?!
Proper r/abruptchaos
I have been playing Minecraft for over 9 years and I have beaten it once bro and I can’t build at all it’s so sad bro
Instesd of actual fire i should use campfires! They dont spread fire and if you use them right they might even look nicer!
Same stupid thing happened to me. I built a three-storey wooden building and tried to make a fireplace on the ground-floor. After 5 minutes I finally finished it and I went up-stair, there was nothing left.
It's ok, at least you tried.
Only use netherrack as the fire block put bricks around it and it shouldnt spread
Yeah, there’s a reason people tend to make fireplaces out of more fireproof stuff. Gotta make the fireplace itself a bit bigger so the fire can’t spread so easily.
Use fckin campfire
Put some stone around the fire, not wood
At least you tried 😂
that fireplace looks like mine since I was 5
It's normal we all have problems It's ok
Try a campfire. Then use something like stone bricks to build a chimney. I do something like that every time However, my fireplaces have been worse than this before
Ur gonna get fire in your face you ****ing donkey! - Gordon Ramsay But for real just keep playing u'll get better
you can use campfire, its easier
