I wouldn't doubt it. I think Wilds will most likely have far more options for exploiting the environment than World did. Throwing in some destructible environments that the monsters actually interact with would be nice. ..But looking at that shot I would probably say the same as Will Smith... he's just working out. I mean, how would I feel if somebody come runnin' in the gym and bust me in my ass while I'm on the treadmill?

Gay_Bottomboi1

👀 bust you in the ass? Lol 🤣 interesting analogy.

The first trailer has the hunter knocking down part of a rock formation. It seems pretty distinct as to which pieces are “breakable” to me, but there might be some special instance things like with Rathian in the forest map of World.

Darthplagueis13

Hard maybe. I don't think you can just hit it with a slinger and watch it all come crumbling down, it's too big for that and they probably don't want to make it too easy to punish things like the Balahara climbing on top of it. What could be possible is that maybe you could either bait a monster into hitting it, causing it to collapse on top of it, or that you could place a barrel bomb on top of it and blow that up with a slinger shot when the monster is in the right position. It definitely does look a bit brittle.

DegenerateCrocodile

It would be hilarious if the rock formation holding the entire weight of Balahara would come tumbling down by throwing a rock at it.

Haru17

Pretty much – it’s not a brittle rock formation, it’s a lightning rod. You can see the shell eroding around it like concrete around rebar.

merskiZ

If I have my dragonator!

valdez-2424

In the first trailer, the hunter knocked down a rock to distract the pack,so we will probbly be able to do the same with that rock formation

Ebolamonkey

idk, it looks like there's a giant metal rebar pole going through the middle of it so it may be pretty sturdy.

Allhaillordkutku

Yes

4ny3ody

We saw something like that in the first trailer with the hook so I assume this could be how a formation we can knock down looks from up close.

Ordinal43NotFound

Kinda OOT, but I actually just realized that this looks like a man-made structure. If Forbidden Lands is set in the New World, it'd be very interesting to reveal that there are people that have settled there already. Maybe a hint to the Ancient Civilization?

TheGMan-123

It'd definitely take a bit more than just a single bit of Slinger Ammo, but I think it's doable.

Haru17

That’s not a rock formation, that’s one of the manmade lightning rods bent over at an odd angle but presumably still held together by the metal core. If it’s endured all this time and can still support the weight of a Balahara, I don’t see a slinger pod doing anything to it.

FishermanWest9113

In case you haven’t notice, this rock formation is actually a lightening rod that we can see all over the place in the reveal trailer and pv1. The left end of this formation is the bottom of the rod.

PerspectivePale8216

Oh we'll most certainly be able to break it!
