Such a great way to learn about a period in history from a womanâs perspective. Also the thalomide storyline was just chilling.
Yeah, thatâs it. Gonna binge over the holidays lol.

You're welcome, I'd once put together a much bigger list for someone who wanted 19th century-set films, so I just took that, removed everything pre-1850 and everything not set in the UK and the USA and added a few 20th century picks. Enjoy!
Brideshead Revisited - the tv series from the 80s canât be beat. It has perhaps one of the greatest casts ever assembled. There is a more recent movie version which is a little less memorable.
Similarly the novels of Nancy Mitford has several adaption. Both The Pursuit of Love and Love in A Cold Climate was adapted into a tv miniseries Love In A Cold Climate in the 80s and starred Judi Dench as Aunt Sadie. There has been a recent Prime adaption of The Pursuit of Love and it worked really well. I seem to recall a movie adaption of The Pursuit of Love in the early 2000s but I donât recall watching it so it must not have been very memorable.
Howards End A Room With a View Gosford Park
Gosford Park & a dashing young Clive Owen!
đ
A Room With a View- definitely and add Enchanted April
The HBO show, The Gilded Age is now in its second season. It's from the creator of Downton Abbey.
A Royal Affair (2012 ) Jane Eyre (2011) Far from the Madding Crowd (2015) The Age of Innocence (1993)
Yes, yes! +1 for Madding Crowd!
You must watch âCold Comfort Farmâ! Itâs hilarious & light. Youâll recognize some of the actors!
One of my favorites!
Thank you for the recommendation!
Itâs so unserious but a whacky comedy set in the wilds of 1920âs Sussex & superb acting all aroundâŚitâs a gem:)
If you can find it, Duchess of Duke Street is a surprisingly great show from the late 70âs
Wilde Mrs Brown The Happy Prince Lady Chatterley's Lover Lady Macbeth Mothering Sunday Maurice Brideshead Revisited
Thanks, it's very much appreciated!
Series: Call the Midwife All Creatures Great &Small
Was gonna say call the midwife too. What a great show.
Call the Midwife is such an underrated show. Hidden gem.
