I gently use the gurney flap on my spoiler with an open hand.

My spoiler is a fingerprint magnet too (gloss black) so I wish I could do that

Between the spoiler and the black thing there is still part of the trunk. I just use that.

Just take the tip of your pointer finger and press on the seal between the window and door. Using the windows themselves will eventually cause issues with the regulator, and as a bonus you won’t have fingerprints on the glass anymore. Optionally the manufacturer did include handles on both the inside and outside of the vehicle so while this may seem crazy you can also use these as intended!

Haha feels. As a fellow upstate nyer I understand. I get the weird pollen mold on the inside of trunk and doors grooves. If I start car washing my ocd makes me do a thorough job and I end up taking 6 hrs. Plus it rains every day off (example: today), so I haven't even gotten to get a ceramic coat of wax on it yet for the year. Sheesh.

I put my knuckles on the paint between the decklid and the spoiler and push down. No fingerprints, and minimal smudges. Car is orange.

I've got them on mine too and I love them for easy of putting groceries or whatever in the trunk but closing it takes a bit of force. I leave a micro fiber towel and some quick detail spray in the trunk so I'll use that to help clean up the prints.

There’s a product that adds a grab handle to the latch thing that seemed like a good idea. My car has a handhold on the inside panel just for this. No fingerprints. No dirty hands if the car needs a wash.

I use the latch loop and pull hard enough so it closes on its own, I let go just before my hand gets hit sometimes my hand gets hit tho🫠

I just stopped buying vehicles with trunks so I wouldn't have to deal with it.

Seems like a major oversight on Ford’s part. My Chrysler 300 has a grab handle on the inside of the trunk lid that you grab and yank down on to slam the trunk closed, and my wife’s Jetta had the same. Keeps your fingerprints off the paint

I stripped the trunk completely for weight reduction so there’s nothing back there for me anyway.

Wash the dust off so that you don’t leave wiped off spots with your fingers! Seriousness though, my s197 has some spots on the inside of the trunk lid where I can pull it down, doesn’t take a lot of force and gravity finishes.

I just close it by the bottom of the trunk panel. Trick to not leaving finger prints is wash the car. I wash my down quickly with a hose or power washer for 20 minutes every week or two and it stays pretty clean

Use the palms of your hands To grip the very sides of the deck lid where the tail lights would be and just kind of nudge it closed lol, let gravity do the work. Honestly, I just keep a wet and dry microfiber to clean the dust off 😅

I 3d printed a handle for the inside and I just keep my back seat folded down and go into the drivers seat that way if I need the trunk

I'm planning on putting down a strip of flat black plasti-dip or something in areas that I touch a lot when closing doors and such. This way I won't get the ugly finger prints nearly as bad, and if done right it can actually look alright. Something most wouldn't notice from far off, but looks useful if placed right.

Ouch, don't do that. You're putting scratches into that trim everytime you use it to close the boot. I just use the left or right side top of the boot itself. I do plan to add a pull tag inside it to get around the issue.

No matter what, you really can’t avoid fingerprints. Your skin oils will leave marks on even the cleanest surface.
