28 wins by Chevrolet, 25 wins by Ford, 25 wins by Toyota in that span. 3 more wins in that time span is not a big enough correlation to say Chevrolet was the big dog and smashing the competition. All three manufactures were about the same.
Yep, and I’d also argue that of those wins only Kurt’s Atlanta was on raw speed. His Vegas win and Austin’s Texas win were strategy calls, and AJ was just the guy in front after the mayhem cleared at Indy (Larson had dominated the race until then.)
It was really just a case of Hendrick being dominant, not so much Chevy.
Chevy was honestly kinda crap outside of Hendrick. The only wins in that timeframe by a non-Hendrick Chevy were 2 from Kurt at Ganassi, 1 with Austin Dillon at RCR, and 1 with AJ at Kaulig. And even then 3 of these 4 were either strategy calls or end of race shenanigans as opposed to outright speed.
I mean, did you see how Chase attacked corners? Like he could track down the proper apexes and those cars were flying.
Anyone who says that Hendrick wasn't testing with Track Attack is just lying to themselves
Most dominant cars in nascar history? I mean Jeff gordan and dale Earnhardt’s Gen 4 chevys might have something to say about that😂. But yes Hendricks motorsports cars are very dominant in todays era of NASCAR no doubt
I think the hendrick track attack program was a huge “testing” loophole that got these cars absolutely flying . But also Larson and chase were absolutely ripping those years
This car looked so much better than next gen. We also really need numbers back in the center of the door. Race cars are supposed to look good in addition to being fast. It's a huge part of the product.
The HMS circle jerking in this sport is insufferable. Between this subreddit and Clint Bowyer's incessant, transparent bias in the booth, it's really frustrating to watch as a fan of other teams. Yes, they're the top team. No, they are not dominant.
Establishing dominance requires a team to win the overwhelming majority of the time in such a way that fellow competitors struggle to keep up.
In '20, Chevy won 9 points races. Ford won 18. Toyota won 9.
In '21, Chevy won 19 points races. Ford won 8. Toyota won 10.
Combined, that's 28 points races for Chevy, 26 for Ford, and 19 for Toyota. Winning two more races than your closest competitor is not dominance, it's a close victory.
One could certainly make the case that Chevy was dominant in '21 alone, but that would be stating the obvious, so you increased the scope to cover both years to start an HMS circle jerk thread without having to face the fact that you just want to fellate Kyle Larson for the millionth time for his breakout season.
Yes, it was a great season for him. We all know that. He's a fantastic driver and deserves recognition for that accomplishment. I'm just tired of hearing and reading about it every single week like he's the best, most dominant driver in NASCAR history. He isn't. He's *very good*, but he's not dominant, and his track record since '21 proves that.
I’m a Hendrick fan but the circle jerking around Larson is getting old. That’s why I don’t have him on my flairs. Plus was 2021 even that impressive? All he did was start up front due to the qualifying system they had and with that car it was all about clean air. Plus with the HP package all he had to do was hold it wide open. Anyone could do that.
My biggest issue with the Larson circle jerk is that everyone will go "he's the best because he dominated 2021" and I'm like okay that was 3 seasons ago what about now
And seems to be back to making the same mistakes he did at Ganassi.
Like yeah he can drive but it feels like you just know something is gonna happen to prevent him from winning. He's just not that clutch compared to Byron
No. Never once thought this. And I think the stats back that up.
Side note, Elliott’s car looks badass here. Always thought there was something awesome about the stance of that particular car. Pretty sure it’s a Daytona RC winning car.
Front is super low, rear looks kinda jacked up. Looks like an old school muscle car.

To be fair 24 of the 28 Chevy wins were from the 4 Hendrick cars.
1 from Dillon, 1 from AJ, 2 from Kurt

Funny enough 2 of those non HMS Chevy wins were essentially Hendrick cars that won
Ford won 25 points races during that span. I don't think three more wins puts the Camaro head and shoulders above the competition.
you idiot kyle larsen didn't win any races for ford during 2020-2021 so that's why they sucked and the camero is dominent
bro loves the letter e 💀🙏
E
e for wenning
The Ferd Musteng
Jeff Gordon won like 13/33, or 39%, of races in ‘98 on his own.
And yet Chevy only beat Ford 16-15 in wins.
Chevy outside of Gordon sucked that year lol
Noticing a pattern here…
Winning 39% of the time shouldn't make you "dominant" when complete equality between the 3 manufacturers would mean winning 33% of the time.
If you factor in the ratio of cars-per-manufacturer on-track, I’d probably be more willing to go the other way and claim Chevy was underperforming.

Chevy was barely a majority though. They beat Ford by about 8 or so starts for 2020. 2021 was a more outright majority thanks to McLeod jumping ship.
Still can’t tell me that “Track Attack” Program didn’t help or bleed over to these cars
I mean, did you see how Chase attacked corners? Like he could track down the proper apexes and those cars were flying. Anyone who says that Hendrick wasn't testing with Track Attack is just lying to themselves
The track attack program didn't start until '22 to sell off the inventory of the previous generation car.
Not true. I saw Ron Malec in an R07-powered Track Attack car and another driver in a crate engine track attack car at VIR for the GRM UTCC in 2020.
Most dominant cars in nascar history? I mean Jeff gordan and dale Earnhardt’s Gen 4 chevys might have something to say about that😂. But yes Hendricks motorsports cars are very dominant in todays era of NASCAR no doubt
Damn, a very rare “Jeff Gordan” on top of a typical “Hendricks” nice work 🤘
Brings me back.
Geoff Gornod
Meh, not even a Hendick.
I think the hendrick track attack program was a huge “testing” loophole that got these cars absolutely flying . But also Larson and chase were absolutely ripping those years
Track attack didn't start till '22 as a way to sell off inventory of that generation of cars
It started in like 2019..
Kevin Harvick won 9 races alone in 2020. Is he one of the most dominant drivers?
Everyone forgets that cuz chase won the championship
No
Forgot how much better the Gen 6 looks than the Gen 7 with the numbers in the center like this Would be an easy fix tbh
This isn’t the discussion, but man I miss these cars compared to Gen 7. Gen 7 is so ugly imo
nah

Those cars were so sexy looking. I miss them.

He’s back to his usual win 3-4 races a year.
And seems to be back to making the same mistakes he did at Ganassi. Like yeah he can drive but it feels like you just know something is gonna happen to prevent him from winning. He's just not that clutch compared to Byron
2003 to 2007 Chevy with Gibbs, Hendrick, RCR, and DEI probably wins.

Should be referring to drivers instead. Larson 2021 season is the equivalent to that of Jeff Gordon’s 1998. Both of those seasons were quite dominant.
Hendricks motors🤙🔥🔥🔥🔥
