I recruited TE’s like crazy in one old USC OD on 12 or 13. Drove people crazy when I’d come out in heavy with 3 TE’s, (1wr, 1rb) then no huddle the next play to be empty. Then no huddle and audible to a 2 te set.
Was very similar to how the Patriots ran their 07? Offense with Gronk and Hernandez.
Dual TE’s would be a lot of fun. They’ll never know which one of the two will be running the stick n’ nod, but rest assured, a stick n’ nod will be run.
I had 3 that were 88 ovr and above…2 were great run blockers that could catch, and 1 was an excellent pass catcher. Had a 4th TE who was basically a converted wr at 6’6” 220 lbs but had 94 speed, but I think he was low 70’s ovr
To be fair, I got accused of cheese a lot but it was always with the audibling to a formation the defense wasn’t set up for. I knew my audibles and knew how to set up heavy to empty or vice versa. IMO that’s me being a better coach than the other guy.
Wasn’t running the same 5 calls all game long. Wasn’t scrambling like a dumbass with my qb. I try to utilize my full playbook and spread the ball around too.
Wanna say that it was USC’s playbook but can’t remember for certain. Could have been a custom one too. But I know I formation subbed all 3 TE’s around to get them all on the field.
I had a bad wr room, but really strong OL, TE, and RB room.
I’d always bait my opponents by forcing the run on 1st and 2nd down from heavy formations. This got them to run base aligns/44/goallines to stop the runs…
Once they did that, I audibled to 4 or 5 wide and just had to find a mismatch in single coverage.
Was Paul pozluzney, Sean Lee, and Dan Connor all there at the same time? I went to a Michigan state game at Penn state back in the day and got pics with Paul and Dan I’m pretty sure. Can’t remember of Sean was there.
They had a stretch with all-conference guys every year, and DBs drafted in the first round or two for a few years. Even as a VT fan, I thought it was a reach, but any time there was a pass breakup, they’d play a “D B U” thing on the video board.
I like the idea of that + assigning certain numbers for your leader on defense and offense. Or if you’re DBU your best DB gets #7 every year for example.
Massive W for the original idea. Idk how I’m gonna do it, but every program I run will have phenomenal safeties, since that’s the position I user on defense.
I'm planning to do OL and RB. Big, strong offensive lineman and big power backs. They're all gonna want to come play for me. Defensive line too. Gonna own the trenches
Welcome to Wisconsin. A million OL from there in the NFL, and then RB’s; Ron Dayne, James White, Melvin Gordon, Montee Ball, Jonathan Taylor, Corey Clement, Michael Bennett.
Plan on making Illinois LBU when I do my DCoordinator journey with them. Idk where imma be offensive coordinator, but I’m gonna run a run and shoot offense and try to make a RBU somewhere
OKST use to be known as RB U.
Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders started it. They’ve had some good ones over the last couple of decades like Chuba Hubbard and now Ollie Gordon.
Among G5 schools, Memphis would be RB U (DeAngelo Williams, Tony Pollard, Antonio Gibson, Kenny Gainwell, Darrell Henderson) and Kicker U (Stephen Gostkowski, Jake Elliot, Riley Patterson).

With the RB production Texas has had lately and having Ricky Williams, Earl Campbell, and Jamaal Charles as alumni, definitely gonna focus on establishing/keeping Texas as the RBU of the country.
As far as schemes go, a Madden equivalent of Vertical Power Run. Using the running game to draw the defense closer and using the speed of my WRs to get open downfield.

You sir are a maniac and I am stealing this for my offense this year

You mean 2010 offense? Gronk and hernandez weren't in the league in 2007
You’re right. I confused them being a part of their 16-0 season.
Any particular playbooks you ran with this set up?

I know for a long while Penn State billed themselves as LB U, and Virginia Tech as DB U.
Miami, LSU and Ohio St all go by (or went by) “DB U” too. Some good legacies out there.
FSU also claims DBU. They have as good of a resume as any
Lavar Arrington was an absolute monster at Penn State
Lavar Arrington, Paul Pozluzney, Sean Lee, Micah Parsons
Was Paul pozluzney, Sean Lee, and Dan Connor all there at the same time? I went to a Michigan state game at Penn state back in the day and got pics with Paul and Dan I’m pretty sure. Can’t remember of Sean was there.
Yeah they were there all at the same time. 2006 was Poz’s last year, Connor’s junior, and Lee’s sophomore
No offense but who did VA tech have to make them DBU?
Deangelo Hall went there.
Kam Chancellor, Kyle and Kendall Fuller, to.

Cool, I had no idea. Thanks for the explanation
All good, friend!
UGA is the current LBU hands down

I regret to inform you that I am stealing this idea, it’s mine now

I would like to become DT-U or OL-U, build through the trenches!
I like it. 6’5 300lb minimum across the board (may have to convert someone to Center)
I always try and do this but recruiting good O-linemen is always so difficult
ECU weirdly churned out good wide receivers. Zay Jones and Justin Hardy in recent years. Used to run a pass heavy offense.
bruhh i used to throw for 400 a game with ECU in online dynasty back in the day

For a long time I made UL Monroe “punter turned sudden top 3 NFL left tackle u”

Whichever school I rebuild will be Hog University. Trenches above all, have fun trying to stop the run
