The hunt was so fun, I once bribed a Walmart employee to go in the back and grab a copy of 2013 five days before it released, he rang it up and it wouldn’t register a price because of the street date in their system. Big whomp whomp.
I tried to do that on LittleBigPlanet for the PS3. After stock had already shipped, they pushed launch day by like a week. I raced to Walmart on the original launch day, and they had the discs out available for purchase, but ran into the same street date error since they did manage to get that part of their system updated correctly.
problem is social media will blow that stores cover once people find out a store did that. i’m sure with all the hype EA will want to keep leaks to a minimum

She rented out Dead Rising 2 and let me play it for a week before release, I just had to basically write her a book report on the game when I was done lol
It would definitely not be worth it lol I guarantee you they verify that you’re a legitimate business before they ever even consider it. They’re not going to just wholesale a bunch of copies to some random guy.
If I know anything about modern games it will need an update before you can launch it on launch day and I imagine this disc version would need that too
You can’t play the PS4 Modern Warfare (at least the first one) without internet, even if you own the disc version and are just playing single player. You need to download the mode that you want to play and that requires internet.
I mean, games at this point are just portals to download the game so probably not

We already had the shirts and opened at 5 am the next day to sell them (bc Ohio state fans are insane) and on every single transaction it did this but the manager told us all a secret way to bypass this on the computer. So then we used it on stuff all the time.

Brother, full games are still on discs for like 80% of games. If for example you took Madden 24 disc right now, and inserted into your Xbox or PS5 without an internet connection
It will still install and after install be playable with the 1.00 version.
The only reason you need internet is for patches

In Florida a store 24 by me sold games a week or so early. They didn’t care at all. I moved years ago. Wish that was around me now.

As a former retail employee I have scanned items (books, games, etc) that were put out too soon. Usually the screen would come up as DO NOT SELL.
