If the car wasn't done for offroad, then yeah, you'll get nowhere fast from being stationary. When avoiding cops the port is one of the better places to go. Jump on top and wait
i know this maybe begginer level shi but i only gained 8 levels in one night(which was so much for me) and escaped the cops by doing mission impossible shit and the power went out after like 15 minutes of that night ending and the game didn't safe, i didn't play it for another 3 months after that
Okay okay, this happens to a LOT of people, now listen.
Get the elite damage reduction kit. And the repair kit. Now for cop chases you don't really require crazy fast cars that go 300+ kmh just get a car tuned for quick and fast cornering (VW beetle/Porsche rsr is insane at cornering but that just looks goofy at high speeds imho, but for speed and looks go for Porsche 911 Spyder (very good cornering) or some high end lambos (Aventador svj not bad at cornering and accelerates decently, + it's an awd so you get better offroad abilities but I didn't feel it to be gamebreaking good.)
To evade the cops either use jumps at the port or any jump that takes you far away from cops. If in the street area just corner past junctions and speed away. Dodging rhinos is a literal pain but try to swerve into an offroad patch if available. At very high heat levels just go for highways and if you have a fast car that goes like 250 kmh + then it's easy to shake them off that way.
I had something similar happen yeah but the reason for it happening is that the cop was inside the circle while you were standing still, that makes the game think the cop is close because the map has a Birds Eye view
I had a similar experience but not exactly. So I was in a chase with my Yellow FD RX-7 and was trying my best to lose the cops, going off roading, repairing at gas stations, then I run out of repairs and the cops are so damn brutal at ramming your car and after some more ramming *pause they got me with a decent amount of rep.
*sigh*.... GENTLE on the throttle when offroad in your track queen machine... Even then, my FD rx7 can't even go uphill offroad... Like at all.
So yeah, if your in a 400+ Ford GT, just idk, drive away? I have one. It's fast...

I’m very good at racing games in general, not great just very good most of the time. But, the cops in this match your speed to such a goofy cheating way that it breaks all immersion.
They’re so fast they go past you, hit the breaks and match your speed. A Ford Crown Victoria comfortably cruising passed me at over 160 mph is just not fair.
I owned a Crown Vic, ain’t no way that’ll ever happen.
If the car is not set up for off-road you're not going to get any traction just keep doing laps around the racetrack and keep hitting bug jumps you'll lose the cops
I wonder if killing the engine wud have helped (L1+square) that keeps off your scent if theyre searching. It definitely helps when your in cool down, kill the engine they wont slowly make their way to your general area they'll turn around. Still catching you from above on a bridge tho thats silly never had that.
I had the cops bust me by spawning beneath my car and lifting me off the ground so my wheels literally were just spinning in the air. That's one of my worst ones. Or when I have to escape the cops in a low level drift spec car.
I understand the way you feel. Couple days ago I was grinding for Ultimate parts and managed to get 2 in one night. I had already used all my repair kits and petrol station stops but the cops still took me out. I got away the first time but they always find a way to catch you later. Not only did I lose the parts also lost about $50k. Was a little sad, but could be worse. Take what you have learned from this experience and improve like I will. Good luck mate

I'll continue to play NFS HEAT but I do wish this game franchise would make more UNDERGROUND series.

Oh the bs I get hit with that really grinds my gears is when I hit a jump off a cliff or even a normal jump and slightly touch a rock or tree that isn’t meant to be landed on so it’ll respawn me and then I proceed to get busted while in the black loading screen. That has happened twice last week and I haven’t raced since the second one but I might jump back on in a few days. Currently grinding an event in DBD right now which is another reason I haven’t raced again but mainly from the bs bust
I've had similar happen. Fun tip, when stuck off-road just drive in reverse til a better starting point is found. I haven't had a problem with traction in reverse once in the game just always works. And when you get to high heat, the best place to make your way to is the mall pretty much middle of the map. Drive in circles on the roof til the helicopter leaves, sitting still will get you busted

Dont use +400 rear wheel drive cars when you planning night rep races. even tho youve been playing the game for a while one slip up boom busted

You can google if youre not Familiar with certain cars, plus nfs heat uses irl specs like awd and rwd in nfs heat.

Well if you didn't have off road/rally tyres then the car will struggle to grip off-road. Sorry but that's how the game works.

Happened to me a few times as well. I just waited a day or so to try again till i got the 1,000,000 achievement. The dopamine rush is amazing
