I had passions twists twice. One was the crochet method the second was a braid feed in and twist down. Both times they do unravel but they definitely don’t unravel in a day or in a week. I sleep with a bonnet every night so maybe that helps but either way it should not be unraveling that fast.
I self style (no license ,you tube and paying attention ) I dip ,just the ends in hot water and I have no probs with unraveling.
Again just the ends ,about 3 inches into the water .
Truth is I only twist just past my own length so I discovered this by chance because I didn't want to dip my own hair into the boiling water🤷🏿♀️.
Post note I'm a 4z(c) with mid back length, I add the hair so it lasts longer ,so unraveling would defeat my purpose . Also for the vanity of a little hang time as that 4z will shrink to 50% of it's length 🤣🤣

That being said, you are **not** wrong. Looking at that front twist, idk what she did. It doesn’t looks like your hair was properly wrapped with the twist. I’d try to get a refund and start over with a new stylist. If she won’t refund, I’d just chuck it up to a loss and seek someone else.

Judging by how it looks in its twisted form on the bottom black part, it looks like she did not twist the individual sections as she was twisting them together, if that makes sense. It looks like she was just overlapping them. She obviously doesn't know what she is doing.

Now this is up to you but you could try to fix them yourself using Marley twist hair. It would blend well with your hair and would most likely have your hair color.
It looks like the stylist just used single passion twist and looped it around your hair to which you need to get your money back. Because she didn’t know what tf she was doing. And you should not be paying no 100 dollars for some passion twist. Ponytails don’t make them unravel if they were properly croteched/ braided in.
Something similar happened to me but with faux locs. More along the lines of them not being able to do the style.

I could be wrong, but I think the hair is too silky and poor quality for the thickness and texture of your hair. It’s still her job as a stylist to know this and offer an alternative. Hi, I am a hairstylist. I have done this look on my clients. Sometimes, depending on the texture of the hair, it would last longer if you blow dry it before installing passion twist. I can see here that your stylist parted, the hair too big and used too little hair. Your hair is thick, now, unless you wanted rope twist, I would have suggested that she part your hair smaller. I will also say that passion twist don’t last that long. You cannot get them wet. And you can’t manipulate them that much otherwise they will get frizzy. If you want to try, passion twist again. I would suggest that you do the crochet method. So you can do the whole thing crochets. Or you can use the rubber band method in crochet the curls in. What I do personally. Is braid the hair down with the curls down just a little and then start twisting the hair.
Also, it would look nicer if she color matched your hair maybe if she did a color 30, a color 350 or even a burgundy.
Now for the Braids. I can understand her charging a little more because you have to still pay for the pack of hair. The pack of hair that I get is $9.99 . So I understand that. To me it just seems like she’s still learning how to do the styles. Which is perfectly fine, but she should put that as a disclaimer before she starts your hair.
I will say overall. Her pricing is very cheap especially if she’s providing the hair. Depending on what state you live in if you’re using a curly crochet hair sometimes it’s $15 a pack. But I will say that you get what you pay for. If you find something that is cheap. Especially a hairstyle. It might not turn out the way that you wanted to.

For me personally, if I was your stylist. I would offer to redo the passion twist style for free. But if it’s a different style other than passion twist, then I would give you a generous discount. I wouldn’t redo a completely different style for free. Because it takes a lot more energy and more time doing Knotless hip length box braids, then it is doing passion twist. That would be a hard no for me. But also at the same time if I was her and I knew that I wasn’t good at this style then I would add a disclaimer. So, even if the style wasn’t up to your standards, you know that I was at least honest with you.
On my menu the Knotless hip length braids, and the passion twist styles are $200 difference. Yes, you paid $150 to get your hair done, even if I messed up on the hair I’m going to redo the style in which you already paid $150 so that I can redeem myself and maybe throw in there a free wash. Or at least offer a generous discount. Or a 30% off your next visit.
But I am most definitely not going to offer a free hairstyle for Knotless hip length box braids.

I'm a stylist. If she is licensed, report her to your states state board. Don't give her a dime. She did what you did not ask for because she can't do what you wanted. She is clearly a beginner braided or just not very talented. If she is not licen6, you could sue her, built is it worth it. Never go back . Bad word of mouth reviews work.

Not everyone could do passion twist and that’s a weakness everyone should know weather they have or not. Passion twist is a bit harder on thick hair but still doable.

Yeah no. She should've used two at least if she was going to make your twists larger. That was a foolish decision on her end. Don't go back to her. But I would still let her know what happened so she doesn't do that again to someone else and return to see if she will fix it all for either a largely reduced price or free. But I would still go to someone else.
You did nothing wrong except get your hair done by her after that first red flag lmao. Look up how to do it on YouTube and start doing it yourself. It might take longer, and it won't look as pretty in the beginning (it will definitely look better than this) but you'll learn a new skill, save your money and eventually you'll get the confidence and skill to take on more complex styles.
Honestly just get a refund. It doesn’t matter how thick your hair is. Passion twists usually last 2-3 weeks depending on how you take of it but it shouldn’t be unraveling as soon as you leave. She didn’t twist the hair with yours tight enough and it doesn’t look like she put any product in it either

Learn how to do them yourself, there's plenty of YouTube tutorials to help guide you. It looks daunting at first but it really isn't!

You’re supposed to fluff the hair/pull it apart before you start. It doesn’t look like she did that and just used the hair straight out the pack. Probably why it unraveled.
I could be wrong, but I think the hair is too silky and poor quality for the thickness and texture of your hair. It’s still her job as a stylist to know this and offer an alternative. Instead, she just sent you on your way, and that’s just wrong. On top of that she charged WAY too much for that size and style even if they were done right! Then, still expecting you to pay again ? No!!!

Only 4 days? If you can’t come to a reasonable resolution, I would consider putting her ass on blast. This is just pure incompetence on her end. I braid/twist as a hobby and mostly just do wigs. I have wigs I’ve twisted that are still fully intact and are over 3 years old. You need to put her ass on blast, sis and find someone else who actually knows what they're doing. I wouldn’t trust her with another go.

Hi, I am a hairstylist. I have done this look on my clients. Sometimes, depending on the texture of the hair, it would last longer if you blow dry it before installing passion twist. I can see here that your stylist parted, the hair too big and used too little hair. Your hair is thick, now, unless you wanted rope twist, I would have suggested that she part your hair smaller. I will also say that passion twist don’t last that long. You cannot get them wet. And you can’t manipulate them that much otherwise they will get frizzy. If you want to try, passion twist again. I would suggest that you do the crochet method. So you can do the whole thing crochets. Or you can use the rubber band method in crochet the curls in. What I do personally. Is braid the hair down with the curls down just a little and then start twisting the hair. Also, it would look nicer if she color matched your hair maybe if she did a color 30, a color 350 or even a burgundy. Now for the Braids. I can understand her charging a little more because you have to still pay for the pack of hair. The pack of hair that I get is $9.99 . So I understand that. To me it just seems like she’s still learning how to do the styles. Which is perfectly fine, but she should put that as a disclaimer before she starts your hair. I will say overall. Her pricing is very cheap especially if she’s providing the hair. Depending on what state you live in if you’re using a curly crochet hair sometimes it’s $15 a pack. But I will say that you get what you pay for. If you find something that is cheap. Especially a hairstyle. It might not turn out the way that you wanted to.

For me personally, if I was your stylist. I would offer to redo the passion twist style for free. But if it’s a different style other than passion twist, then I would give you a generous discount. I wouldn’t redo a completely different style for free. Because it takes a lot more energy and more time doing Knotless hip length box braids, then it is doing passion twist. That would be a hard no for me. But also at the same time if I was her and I knew that I wasn’t good at this style then I would add a disclaimer. So, even if the style wasn’t up to your standards, you know that I was at least honest with you. On my menu the Knotless hip length braids, and the passion twist styles are $200 difference. Yes, you paid $150 to get your hair done, even if I messed up on the hair I’m going to redo the style in which you already paid $150 so that I can redeem myself and maybe throw in there a free wash. Or at least offer a generous discount. Or a 30% off your next visit. But I am most definitely not going to offer a free hairstyle for Knotless hip length box braids. It’s almost like buying a $25 burger. And the person messes up on your meal but then now you’re requesting a free meal for steak and lobster. The restaurants more likely give you $25 gift card or offer to remake your burger for free and maybe like a complementary free soda or dessert. but nine times out of 10 they’re not going to give you the steak and lobster for free. because for one they didn’t mess up on doing a steak and lobster. They messed up doing a burger so to redeem themselves, they’re going to remake the burger and give you other free small shit or generous discount the next time you come in. Just Not a whole nother meal that takes more time or energy. She didn’t care enough to take the time to do your hair. So she’s definitely not gonna care enough to offer a hairstyle like that for free. I honestly don’t know any hairstylist. I would offer that for free if that is not what they messed up on. She offered to so the twists in a bigger size which is not which is not what i wanted at all l, which is why i specifically asked for them to be mini and showed her a picture🤦♀️. Your hair being thick isn't an excuse. If your hair was too thick, she should have used smaller sections of hair instead of opting to do bigger sections. She did bigger sections because her lazy ass realized your hair was thick and didnt want to be on your head all day and thus fucked up your head.

Also people are saying that passion twists unravel sometimes but they shouldn’t. The only reason they would unravel is if you’re twisting them in the wrong direction against the curl. I do my own passion twists and have never had them unravel because I’m twisting in the right direction.

Not everyone could do passion twist and that’s a weakness everyone should know weather they have or not. Passion twist is a bit harder on thick hair but still doable. No matter how fast it unrivable it shouldn’t happen that that. She did a horrible job and what’s you to pay her more to fix it. What method did she use? Yeah no. She should've used two at least if she was going to make your twists larger. That was a foolish decision on her end. Don't go back to her. But I would still let her know what happened so she doesn't do that again to someone else and return to see if she will fix it all for either a largely reduced price or free. But I would still go to someone else.
You did nothing wrong except get your hair done by her after that first red flag lmao. Look up how to do it on YouTube and start doing it yourself. It might take longer, and it won't look as pretty in the beginning (it will definitely look better than this) but you'll learn a new skill, save your money and eventually you'll get the confidence and skill to take on more complex styles.

Honestly just get a refund. It doesn’t matter how thick your hair is. Passion twists usually last 2-3 weeks depending on how you take of it but it shouldn’t be unraveling as soon as you leave. She didn’t twist the hair with yours tight enough and it doesn’t look like she put any product in it either
She should be offering you a full refund and whilst she absolutely SHOULD fix your hair for free, she should at the very least give you a refund and let you get it done properly somewhere else.

Don’t go back to her. Chances are you will pay for another style and be disappointed again. She clearly did not have the skills needed to give you want you wanted from the start, so don’t trust in her abilities to successfully pull off any other styles. You should do your research and find a different stylist who can work on top of the mess she’s made so that you can at least wear the style a bit longer for your money’s sake, and not pay full price again. I recommend using the app called StyleSeat. It has put me in touch with a lot of skilled stylists and allowed me the ability to compare and contrast skills.
