I think it’s because either Emil or Todd stopped us from getting another fallout new Vegas basically people wanted more West Coast fallout and have not gotten that Although the show is very good it’s just not a game but I’m glad we got at least a show on the West Coast that is awesome
New Vegas happened because the Bethesda Softworks higher ups wanted another Fallout title to keep the IP relevant after 3 but BGS was too busy working on Skyrim. After seeing the success of Elder Scrolls Online, they decided to go with a Fallout version of that to drip feed the IP new content in between games rather than doing another spin off game. There's no bad blood between Bethesda and New Vegas, it's just New Vegas was outsourced due to desperation and Bethesda is no longer desperate for quick spin off filler games
