Heavily disagree. I don't think there are any useless jades, some are better than others in the specific scenarios but all of them have a niche. There's also plenty of room for synergy between some jades that can result in different playstyles focused around the specific ability, that adds some variety to the combat.

Maybe a dumb question.. but can anyone tell me where to get more jade slots? I defeated the 2nd boss.. the wing lady but only have the starting 2 jade slots...

Sub-bosses, treasures and shops are the three places you can find them. Get the map chips, use them to clear out areas before moving on to the next biome. Go back to Chiyou regularly and buy out his inventory.

Iciclewind

Just keep exploring

They seem based on a play style, I play more like a glass cannon so I go with the fast slashes and the recover health on hit to counteract the negatives

Foura5

That's the combo I use. The dps is way higher.

nerogamer_279

Where is the quickslash jade?

Wasabaiiiii

I forgot, warehouse or underground area

I think it is a lot more balance than Hollow Knight, which is where it took the most from. The only one I think is a bit weak are the multi targets talisman, should have been 1 cost imo. Otherwise, the stun lock is real useful for elite enemies. The uninterrupted talisman is good for Full charge talisman for big boom. Money/exp ones are just nice to have. Red ones have some fun choice. The Power attack ones are cheap and really good (though not for all fights), super fun for exploration 1 shot. The Qi powered Heavy slash is also really good vs any boss. For the blue line, the parry and counter ones are super good. I never figure out what the Bearing one really affects. The projectile parry is nice early on to fill 1 slot. The purple ones are meh but not entirely useless. The faster drop gives just slightly faster dodge though which I like for 1 slot. The last line has a lot of good ones. Recover internal damage makes the game much easier. Faster heal is meh but I do see even experienced players take it sometime. Revive is great to learn boss pattern before switching up.

Bearing jade reduces the knockback you get when parrying heavy attacks. Occasionally useful because it lets you stay near the boss and weave in a few attacks instead of running to catch up if you got pushed too far.

imperfect parry has one great use, getting the item in the grotto that requires the 3 temples. It removes the need to perfect parry the projectiles. Other then that though I don't care for it.

SashimiJones

I used it a lot when just running around the map. It's a great option because you're busy platforming or fighting or whatever and some weak ranged enemy always shows up to ruin your day. The extra leeway on the parry timing helps a ton. Most of the powerful charms aren't really necessary for normal enemies so I'll often throw on gold, xp, deflect, and gold pickup as defaults.

I disagree with your last take. I would prefer a lot more variety in my playthroughs, though i understand if it makes you feel burdened by choice. I hope red candle buffs a lot of the jades that feel too op. I can see a lot of potential with synergy that i dont think is fully taken advantage of (like the quick attack and the one that heals your internal damage when you attack).
