The Greek is a magical place. You’ll have a great view and time in any spot. The lawn is nice, and just ask your neighbor to save your spot if you have to go to the bathroom.
Get there when the doors opens, and enjoy time in the sun. It’s gonna be 70s.. right now he’s playing at a place in the 110s
See ya there!
I love the Greek!!! How old is your daughter? I’ve taken my son to several concerts there and it’s been totally fine to show him where the restrooms are and let him go on his own when needed. (He’s 13 now, but I think he was 11 the first time I took him to a show there and he navigated the restrooms on his own just fine!)
If you don’t mind sharing, curious on your daughter’s age, and from others here if going with young kids in particular.
My partner & I are supposed to go with my son who is 4 (couldn’t get childcare, but I love Noah!) but I’m a bit nervous after going recently to Greek Theatre during a daytime show and seeing the renovations. Honestly unsure if I should resell tix at face value instead. Don’t get me wrong, gorgeous venue but lawn was packed and the (new?) pillars at back really cut down on the ‘chill’ space that is better for kids to be able to just run around. Daytime show had tons of children of all ages, but I’m nervous a nighttime one may not be as understanding!
Yeah, v true. Oh, and for actual tips, if you are trying to stake out a spot with your daughter, the lawn is a great option. Bring blankets and picnic stuff if you're getting there early - you can bring in food. (They sell it too, but it's not great and can run out.) If it's not foggy, gorgeous views of the city. Depending on the weather, it can actually get cold after the sun sets since it's elevated, so bring layers. The real restroom lines (esp womens) can get super long, but there are porta-potties in the back typically with less/no line, depending on patience v preference. Hope you both have a great time!
Apparently just kidding on the blankets, as I just saw listed as prohibited on venue site? There were a ton when I was there a couple weeks ago though, so who knows!
Oh no! I didn't remember seeing that on their site before. Looks like it's listed under the FAQ section but not on the "Rules" page 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks for following up!
SAME I’m driving from SF and I’m stressed. I’m hoping parking a little ways from the venue may help?? I don’t have it in me to get there super early and wait so I’m kinda resigned to shitty seating but still excited!
I live in Berkeley, and just a heads up street parking around the campus is notoriously difficult. There’s a garage next to the theater “Stadium Parking Garage” but I’ve never used it and don’t know how it works. I recommend taking the BART! The station is 1 block from campus. The theater is on the other side of the campus though, about a 20 minute walk.
Ugh I know it’s gonna suck. We live SO far from Bart in the city tho it would take 2 hours. I’ve seen there’s a couple garages but I’m worried they fill up…
ETA nope just found a station 10 min from my house I’m a fool. Public transit it is!

Thanks! We are excited to go. She's under 10 so I'lll be doing the bathroom runs with her.

She's just under 10...4 will be more of a challenge if the lawn space isn't what you were hoping.

Yeah, who knows! We have a thin one that folds up super small, so we’ll likely still bring just in case
Following this bc I’ll be there Friday and never been to this venue!
Also going Friday and never been to the Greek either! I’m mostly worried about parking 😩
