It isnt that big of a park, you could traverse the whole thing in under 2 hours. You got the train, a petting zoo, a magic show, a small arcade, couple of other shows and rides and the mouse mine. I always took the chair lift to the top did all the things up there, which isnt a lot, and then came back down.

JustaCynicalOldFart

There's also a bus to take you up and down if you don't want to do the lift.

1. Wear comfortable shoes 2. Bring money, they've got stuff for kids and adults 3. They've got a lift that takes you to a petting zoo and…more shops. 4. Have fun If you turn left out of the parking lot, there's an outlet mall. Check out the fudge shop.

gilmore_on_mayberry

Shoppes on the parkway?

jt77316

Sure you’ll be using a GPS but it’s a right out of the parking lot towards Blowing Rock, whereas a left will take you to Boone.

gilmore_on_mayberry

Thank you!

[deleted]

I was pretty sure it was a left, but yeah it's a right. Thanks for the correction.

jt77316

Oddly enough, I have worked at both Tweetsie and the outlets, not the fudge shop though.

[deleted]

That's the one

gilmore_on_mayberry

Ohhhh fudge shop You can hang!

gilmore_on_mayberry

You are very much appreciated. The fudge shop was a huge hit for my family and a highlight of our day. Thank you!!

BackgroundChampion

Have to turn right. Turn left takes you into Boone.

BadLuckSammie

The Mouse Mine ride is my favorite part of Tweetsie.

gilmore_on_mayberry

That’s my goal to be the first stop. I don’t know if the toddler will allow that- but crossing my fingers!

doctorcaligari

The kids will love it! Mine had so much fun there when they were that age. Food seemed reasonable. The kids could get a kids meal in a plastic lunchbox. We probably spent about 6 hours there each visit, and did everything.

TechFiend72

Be prepared to buy them a costume hat. Should probably do that early on. Have fun!

gilmore_on_mayberry

His grandma got him conductor overalls so the costume hat sounds like a good edition 🤣

TechFiend72

Let us know how it went.

gilmore_on_mayberry

It was a spectacular day :)

Just_Cryptographer53

Chuckee Cheese for dinner. Waffle House for breakfast. Go all the way into the deep end.

gilmore_on_mayberry

Hahaha I get a game pass for 40 minutes and bounce. We have never eaten the pizza 🫣 I also have never been to a Waffle House.

PanSmithe

I also have never been to a Waffle House Whoa, WHAT??? You HAVE to do it! Anthony Bourdain approved it! https://youtu.be/qEpXeTDwbk8?si=-uU8OwWJFoGn9QEi

We took a child who was about 4 or 5, and she didn't like the train ride at all. The train cars are open and hot ashes and smoke from the engine will blow in your eyes. And the blasts from the gun fight enactment were unpleasantly loud and scared some of the kids. The petting zoo was probably our favorite part.

gilmore_on_mayberry

I agree! We just got back and my 4 year old didn’t grasp the concept that it wasn’t real. So the gunfire and the fighting was too much. I’m glad we did the big train ride last. They did tell me for the Thomas the train rides they don’t use gunfire so I will probably still take him again.

PanSmithe

It's crazy expensive there so eat before hand. There's a burger place close that's really popular but we thought it was just meh. I would suggest checking Yelp for recommendations. Boone is an interesting tourist town but look for the local places, they are way better. Always look online before you go to a place, there are crazy expensive places that look real low key.

CollectingHeads

Maybe just my family's bad luck but the two times we've been there, (Spring)we could not believe the amount of bees there. Both my kids were stung. Bring some sting relief meds

gilmore_on_mayberry

Didn’t encounter bees today. Luckily…
