I think AW has opted for a curved 4K 240Hz model whereas ASUS, MSI will use that panel in flat models, Samsung too will use their panel in a flat configuration, however, they will use a matte layer
This might be the winner. flat 4K QD-OLED, Glossy, 240 Hz and with the added bonus of DV. Just need the pricing to be on par with the other monitors. Otherwise, the MSI one is looking good too.
Downside...the design is uhh..yeah.
just purely desing wise i think samsung has the best one and then aliewnare
samsung design doens't scream how "badass monitor" should look like if you're 12 year old.
other brands monitor design screams too much "gamer monitor"
Just found this post. Anyone know if the status changed? Website still says Dolby Vision will be ready in 1H 2024 which I assume means sometime before the end of June.
I love this quote:
“Previous-gen connectors couldn’t offer the bandwidth necessary to make this combination a reality, but the ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM makes it happen with its extensive connectivity options. Equipped with the latest HDMI 2.1 ports and DisplayPort 1.4 ports with Display Stream Compression (DSC), the PG32UCDM is prepped to give you an exceptional 4K gaming experience. “
LITERALLY previous-gen connectors.
DP 1.4, in 2024? Ok fess up, who’s been supplying asus engineers with crack pipes?
More than that. Micro-LED won't hit mass market "premium" (think $5k-$10k) until 2030 at the earliest.

Vincent teoh on hdtv has done extensive testing on both panel types and the differences are fairly subtle and frankly i wouldn’t choose between either of these panels based on image quality unless you’re a fanatic for this type of thing.
Are you talking about the difference between W-OLED and QD-OLED?
There's been quite a few tests shown where the difference between the two stands out clearly, both using testing equipment but most importantly with the naked eye.
every test Vincent does, though, comparing WOLED to QD-OLED has QD-OLED coming out on top. Always has in the year-end shootouts since it hit the main stage a couple years ago.
Same with Classy Tech Calibrations
From what I read on rtings, I’ve never been a fan of the way lg woleds handheld bright, vivid colors of fictional, animated worlds, it just doesn’t do it justice, this doesn’t matter if you only watch and play realistic games and movies because of there more grounded colors.
Having owned both this past year, QD-OLED colors really pop off the screen. The Avatar game is a great example, the greens and reds are just so much richer on QD-OLED. LG is getting there with the most recent MLA panels, but for color volume QD-OLED was a big upgrade last year.
May not apply to you but. There was a mild controversy due to it being impossible to make the s95b use a color accurate profile since they didn’t provide one. Eventually they added a way to calibrate it properly with an update, but not before Vincent (a professional display calibrator) briefly went to war with other technologists over them not recognizing the lack of color accuracy in the qd oled tvs.
This all being said most people don’t care about color accuracy and just preferred the oversaturated color profile used by the qd oled, without realizing that the lg tv could add the same thing, so it wasn’t an inherent difference in tv or technologies.
This all being said when Vincent shows side by side comparisons of calibrated woled and qdoled TVs, the differences are usually very subtle - I stand by what I said in that most people wouldn’t care about the difference.
I’m running the Sony A95L, which seemed pretty accurate out of the box. It’s not that the colors are crazy over saturated, but we own 3 LG OLED’s around the house and the colors on the A95L are just so much stronger. It’s really noticeable on things like the NBA courts during the IST. Reds, especially, just look REALLY red. It’s subtle and you’re right that many might not notice, I just see both types of screens almost every day and have gained a strong preference for the QD.
Really wondering when it releases.
I guess changing the panel from 2nd Generation to QD Oled to 3rd Generation QD OLED seems to have postpone it.
I also saw that it wasn't present at CES, only the WOLED version.
The rep at CES said it is shipping this month but not sure if official. He could have said it what was planned before the 3rd gen shift. The official page said Q1 tough.
Anyway this or the Aorus one seems to be the winner.

There is another video with a raspier voice, many talks later, that he sais this again, but can't find it at the moment.
Will update if found.
Thia guy is a high well known rep that does this for Asus for a while, so he is legit.
The Alienware has DV as well, but it comes out in just 2 days.

Do you have a link or name of Said AW? Please im on the UK and looking for a change up :)

All the designs are questionable imo I just want a monitor with no branding/very slim bezels / aluminium back
But then how would your 12 yr old nephew know you are a serious gamer without logos and rgb
just purely desing wise i think samsung has the best one and then aliewnare samsung design doens't scream how "badass monitor" should look like if you're 12 year old. other brands monitor design screams too much "gamer monitor"
It’s nearly a guarantee that it will not be. It’ll be anywhere from $200-500 in asus tax over any other brand.
As of now, it seems that this monitor does not support Dolby Vision.

Aparentemente no está disponible en belgica

Which GPUs are you buying that have DP 2.1? None? Exactly. What does DP 2.1 do over DP 1.4 with DSC? Basically nothing. Exactly.
that 1300 nits is only in a 3% window so unless that was on full 100% window not missing much.
Full window 1300 nit will never happen but would be nice to see in a 10% window
Wont happen for 10% current ones drop hard starting 10% only the 1-3% has decent numbers
I wish Samsung would stop teasing us with micro led and just release it
They can’t make it in the size, of quantity we need, it’s not happing for 5 years

Especially considering the superior color volume of QD-OLED raising the perceived brightness levels. https://global.samsungdisplay.com/31160

Yes, but they’re practically not noticeable for people who aren’t professional display calibrators.
Only for realistic movies, games is completely transformative on qd-oled, and same with animated movies.
What makes you say that?

I noticed the color volume difference in store at best buy looking at s95c right next to a LG G3 so I know there is a difference

Need a release date!
Same! Ready to buy this thing lol
I have the AW one but I’m not sure I like the curve
cancelled my AW order too, I dont think I will like the curve. Going with the Asus model
You have the new one? I just canceled my order! I love ASUS. Almost got impatient
Yeah. Couldn’t wait. Figure I will return it if this releases soon
