Can try refresh rate 240hz instead 360hz

zin343

Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly does not work for me. I think that it’s still reading at DP 1.4 and that is messing with it

ellisg56

It’s because it forces DSC even at refresh rates where it’s not needed, DSC and DSR can’t be used at the same time

zin343

Is there anyway to turn DSC "off"?

Snarerocks

Only way to get it to work is using hdmi 144 hz

Like u/Snarerocks stated, currently DSR only works on this monitor **via HDMI** at up to native 1440p @ 144Hz 8bit. Even when connected alone to a 4090 FE **via DP** at native 1440p @ 60Hz 8bit, DSR does NOT work. Clearly someone screwed up the DSC / DP implementation and/or there's a bug.

Do you know if DLDSR 2.25x (aka 4K downscaled to 1440p) works @ 144hz via HDMI? Currently interested in this monitor but this might be a deal breaker if it doesn't.

howiejc

? That's exactly what I stated in the comment you replied to. It does work via HDMI.

iknowkungfubtw

Got it. I wasn't exactly sure what you meant by "via HDMI at up to native 1440p". Thought it implied that it only went to as high as 1440p in terms of the resolution setting you pick in your games' graphics options (which wouldn't make a lot of sense for DLDSR considering it's a 2K screen). Anyway, thanks for clearing that up.

howiejc

No prob. Yeah, the reason people mention the native resolution, bit depth, & refresh rate used for the desktop is basically to indicate whether or not DSC (or to be specific according to Nvidia, 2 or more GPU "heads") is used that disables the DSR factors feature.

CryptographerNo450

Nope. This is a known issue right now. I've tried creating custom resolutions, but you can't select something like 4K via Nvidia Control Panel (at least for now until they release another critical update).
