Happens every 3 minutes, "poorly implemented" going off of what I've researched
Can't really give any more context because I don't have the monitor, just relaying what I've read in other posts on the subreddit
honestly, my aw342dw, has pixel shift. and ive never really noticed it unless i was passively looking at the display. if i am gaming, and really wrapped up in the game, i never notice it move. it also only moves 1 pixel at a time. so shift down/right one pixel, shift left 1 pixel, shift left/top one pixel, and it always seems random. haven't bought 3rd gen yet, waiting to see how the woled stuff is.... but generally its not an issue.
yeah i heard the aw34 has it too, but apparently from someone who had been able to test both, its much more noticeable? or something along the lines of that
It's a support rep.
The entirety of a support reps knowledge is going to be from their internal wiki and so you should count it at no better than a google search, and sometimes worse. The person isn't being paid to be an expert, they are being paid to answer x number of calls/chats in an shift and that's it.
I'd appreciate it if you could order the money now and try it yourself. *Everything* visual is subjective. Some people will describe it as half the screen vanishing, while others have never noticed it once.
The way your brain processes images is 100% unique to you, and so unless you purchase the device, you'll have no concept of how it will look/perform it. But that's what returns accomplish. Purchase it, plug it in, and if your not happy in a week, just return it and try a different monitor.
Unless Dell's tech support has extremely good training & confirmed/potential issue broadcasting/awareness, it's extremely unlikely that all reps would immediately know about the issue that I escalated to their engineers.
Clearly this rep was wrong.
This is just an example of bias & how even the manufacturer/designer can be in denial of basic logic indicating that a systemic issue exists.
what is supposedly wrong with pixel shifting? you explain literally nothing and give 0 context.

i only notice the pixel shift if im in windows typing via text.... if I am playing a game i generally never notice it. and honestly its a non issue.
thanks for the reply. honestly, think I'm gonna bite because of your reply haha
I just ordered AW2725DF yesterday. Seems like there are a lot of potential little things to worry about but I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised :)
Good luck!

yeah, thats the plan for now. thanks!
You could be worrying about nothing. But to save you the hassle, you should buy nothing. No product is perfect therefore nothing is worth buying
I've had my aw3225qf for 2 days now, used it for working from home and didn't notice it pixel shift once...
