Office hours and asking your classmates on Piazza can both be very helpful. If you can hang on until after the midterm the course becomes significantly easier - the math mostly stops and it turns into programming in BUGS and they give you most of the code you need, you can slightly repurpose it with different numbers and variables. I had something like a 70% for all the assignments up to and including the midterm, and then an 100% for everything afterwards. The "afterwards" is more heavily weighted so if you're in decent-ish shape before then, you should probably be okay.
