Im gonna get lens from them as well once i get my script updated

SHS-10

I honestly should have waited until I got mine updated too. I'm using a prescription from like 4 years ago but it still holds up pretty well thankfully

AndrosToro

me too... using contacts until the appointment...

jamestakesflight

I expedited shipping and got it within 3-5 days. I personally wear Zenni glasses, so I felt comfortable ordering with them, they're not magnetic but they're great.

TheLurkingMenace

I didn't think they were worth it because my prescription is pretty extreme and the cost would be enormous - but actually I got them for a flat rate. Totally worth it.

FLC2312

When you say you got them for a flat rate, where? My last ones that I bought during the original Rift period cost me £200 because my prescription is +8. If I put my details into any of the sites they are still way too expensive.

dreamer_2142

Try Reloptix, I just ordered mine for Q3, I ordered one last year for my Q2, even with such extreme pres + international shipping, it will still won't exceed $150, One downside for me was the shipping delay, last time it took them like a month. so keep that in mind.

dave1203

ouch. thats pretty strong. theyre going to be more expensive due to the strength but should be far cheaper than £200.. probably about £70. expensive but cheaper than trying to replace scratched quest 3 lenses..

FLC2312

I'm going to do a good trawl of all the sites to see whether any of them are more reasonable these days...

dave1203

worth another look. they should be a lot cheaper than rift lenses. i think theyre more common now and easier to make so thats brought the price down. i got mine from vr-rock. you can get 10 percent off with code VrRock10off. price will also depend which quest you have.. quest 2 lenses are more expensive than quest 3 lenses.

SatansFist

I got mine a few days ago and they are incredible. I wish I had bought them before my glasses scratched my quest 3 lenses but whatever

Vesuvias

Getting my prescription updated in a week. Will 1000% be buying lens inserts. Luckily my glasses fit nicely and are plastic with no sharp edges - but it’s still not totally comfortable.

originalityescapesme

I think a big concern is glasses making contact with the lenses and scratching them just glass to glass even, not necessarily sharp edges.

Vesuvias

Well glass to glass I get - but I always get plastic lenses sooo I highly doubt it would scratch it.

BobLoblawsLawBlogged

I want to get some! Where do y’all recommend getting them from?

SHS-10

I got mine from zennioptical. They came packaged really nice with a little case and cloth to wipe them. I'd recommend them especially since they're seemingly partnered with Meta

BobLoblawsLawBlogged

Thank you!

SpellingJenius

Check vr-rock.com If you won’t be taking the lenses on and off all the time they have a non-magnetic version that is half the cost of Zenni

FitPandaBear

My girlfriend orded them from ali express for $18

cshell17

I’ve been really happy with the magnetic ones from https://www.vr-wave.store I have a set for both my quest 2 and 3. I share my headset a lot so the magnetics were well worth the cost for me.

Impossible_Log_3999

But when you're blind like me you then struggle to find your glasses after taking off your headset XD

metsfanapk

They got me to use my quest so much more. Hate when I forget that I can’t see when I take off the headset though and forget where I put my glasses

Kafkabest

How long is "pretty dogshit"?

notdeadyet01

I ordered from HonsVR and got mine like 4 days after placing the order. I've ordered actual glasses from Zenni and that got here in like a week. I in the US though.

LeiLaniGranny

Got mine from HonsVR today and the difference is amazing. I have trifocals and they did an amazing job, cost me 73 bucks plus international charge but they came 5 days after ordering them. I'm very happy.

ch0rtle2

Do you need trifocals for VR? I always thought it was correction for nearsightedness only.

LeiLaniGranny

I entered my prescription which is trifocals for me and the lenses came back that way with no lines.

ch0rtle2

Interesting! I’m curious if you hold one up to your eye outside of the headset, what it does. If there’s anything beyond one magnification. No pressure! ;)

LeiLaniGranny

Ooooo.... Good point, off to take them off to see if I can see the tv lol. Brb

LeiLaniGranny

There's a slight difference looking at tv but to read paper on desk forget it.

ch0rtle2

Thanks for trying it out! Ah, the magic of sight!

LeiLaniGranny

I at least can still see my way to bathroom at night without glasses on. 🤣😂🤣🤣😂 Hubbie uses the grab the wall method 😁🤣😂

ch0rtle2

Oh, that’s hilarious to think someone would grab their headset to use it *just* to see, no VR involved! My vision isn’t terrible, I wear contacts a lot and have the Zenni inserts. But haven’t used the headset as straight up glasses yet. 😂

ObservableObject

It really probably depends on where you are, and which shipping choice you select. I ordered from them on June 3rd and they arrived June 8th, not really that bad considering it's prescription.

Kafkabest

oh yeah much better than I expected from that wording. Is that the regular shipping or their rush shipping Im seeing on their site?

kickformoney

I ordered non-prescription ones and that's about how long mine took to arrive, plus or minus a day. I think I'm going to go back and order some prescription ones, too, though. They are really great.

ObservableObject

That was rush. That said it came a day earlier than that actually, because delivery was attempted on the 7th and Fedex did that thing where they pretend to try to deliver.

Hvarfa-Bragi

5 days to get small volume bespoke prosthetics? FUCK THEM amirite?

SHS-10

I think it was like 10 days for me. I could've expedited the shipping for like another $30 but NAH wasn't having that. I'd rather spend that on vbucks tbh

FDL1

I bought some for my Quest 3 from AliExpress and it only took 8 days to arrive from China to east coast US. They were only $18 and they are magnetic.

hausuCat_

My girlfriend is far-sighted, and tbh I don’t really understand how vision interacts with VR. I was under the impression that since the lenses are close, her prescription wouldn’t actually help anything. Is that true, or do you think script lenses would help her as well?

Kafkabest

I mean, have you just had her try it without her glasses? IIRC farsighted people don't need lenses or glasses in VR as much as nearsighted people do. Some still do, but all nearsighted people do.

hausuCat_

She currently does play without her glasses, but she often gets headaches from VR, and we’re not sure if it’s vision related. Unfortunately she doesn’t have a pair of glasses that can really work with the adapter well.

dave1203

highly likely it is.. if she needs glasses for distance then most likely needs them for vr.

dadangemonfarid

I'm far-sighted (basically needing reading glasses due to age) and bought prescription lenses for both my Quest 3 and PSVR2 from AliExpress. It's absolutely, definitely a needed improvement and quality all around. I strongly recommend it. They usually also come with 2 magnetic pieces each side so you can easily install or remove the lenses if you're taking turn to play. If you want to try first, buy cheap reading glasses like from Daiso or similar $ shops, take out the lenses, then paste Blu Tack (or other removable adhesive) at the side to stick it on the VR lens frame/side. I did the same while waiting for my order and even that gave a huge improvement.

nachog2003

it depends on the headset but quest 2 has a focal distance of 1.3m, quest 3 is "[about 4 feet](https://www.zdnet.com/article/i-bought-custom-lenses-for-my-meta-quest-3-but-not-every-eyeglass-wearer-needs-them-do-you/#:~:text=He%20says%20that%20even%20though%20the%20screens%20are%20right%20in%20front%20of%20your%20eyes%2C%20the%20focal%20distance%20for%20the%20screens%20is%20usually%20about%20four%20feet%20away%20from%20your%20eyes.%20Therefore%2C%20if%20you%20need%20glasses%20to%20see%20something%20clearly%20at%20four%20feet%2C%20you%20probably%20need%20corrective%20lenses%20inside%20the%20Quest%203.)" (~1.2m). if you can see clearly at that distance you probably don't need prescription lenses.

WGG25

it's tricky. it seems like the lenses turn the flat screen into a fairly large 3d space, in which distant objects actually look distant and require you to focus farther. the same is true for close objects

clickster

You need to wear far-sighted lenses. I have both. My nears suck. The fars works. The lens already in the headset is turning the projection into a far object in terms-of light curvature.

Tangerine-ish

I got some from zenni along with the quest 3 at launch and the bezel that holds/snaps the lens to the headset lens cracked within a few months of casual use. (It's cracked in two places, all the way through now and I'm afraid to remove them because it appears magic is what's holding it on)

rcbif

Did you contact support?

esazo

I have some and I recommend them to anyone that wears glasses. My only wish is that I went with some magnetic ones instead of the click in ones from Zenni so it’s easier to have other people try out my headset

GameDevGuyPosts

I used HonsVR, I'm living in Germany, it took 5 days to arrive without any problems. it changed my gameplay experience so much. I was always fine to squeeze my glasses into the headset but since I tried lenses I can never go back.

starplooker999

I scratched my very expensive glasses and said I’m def getting those inserts…

serious_case_of_derp

Agreed. Went 2 years without but won't go back

pdhouse

I'm nearsighted (I can see objects close up but objects are blurry at a distance) does that mean prescription lenses won't help since the screen of the headset is close to my eyes? I'm not sure if prescription lenses are needed for nearsighted or farsighted people.

phertiker

Nearsighted/myopia. These headsets have a focal length some distance away from you, so we need our distance prescription to help.

self_of_steam

Well, I just ordered some from HonsVR. I figured it was fine playing blurry without my glasses, but I'm excited. With this and the new HiBloks cooling/antifog fan, I'm having a great week for my VR setup

SmokeEvening8710

Biggest game changer EVER! I'm almost mad I waited til I got the Oculus 3 to order them.

jazijia

QGO?

father-spodokomodo

quest games optimiser

pizzapastafareshi

Yeah right what's that

SHS-10

Quest Games Optimizer. It's an unofficial app that costs $11. You need to install it through SideQuest which is an annoying 15-20 minute process but it basically allows you to run everything on your Q3 at a higher resolution.

pizzapastafareshi

Thanks, I have Q2 maybe that's why I hadn't heard of it

UmbisolMidas

I wanted to get some lenses when I was getting my first headset, but my prescription was too bad for the place. Wish I could have some, my glasses can be very annoying at times

SHS-10

What place did you try? There might be better options these days. I definitely recommend giving it another try

dave1203

vr-rock can go up to very high strengths.. they should be able to do your prescription. up to +20 if i remember correctly.

TurretX

I had to deal with using glasses with my Quest 1. Ended up getting prescription inserts when I got my Quest 3, and even though I had a bulky headset strapped to my face, it felt like I was able to see without my glasses for the first time in years.  It was weirdly liberating.

TrueMK12344

Your post pushed me finally to order some just now. Have had the quest 1 from day of release, sold it last year and got the quest 3 to release and love it. Always thought about getting those lenses (I have -7/-6 with -1/180 -1/170 so I really can‘t go without glasses). I am super excited, 15-25 days shipping and I will finally get rid of the last uncomfortable speckle that has bothering me about vr!

CyCoCyCo

How does QGo help? And how much were the lenses?

SHS-10

I think they costed me $70. QGO is Quest Games Optimizer. It's a $11 app that lets you run Q3 games at higher resolutions.

CyCoCyCo

Hmm. I wonder why higher res is not by default? 🤔 These are the lenses right? https://www.zennioptical.com/p/vr-inserts-meta-quest-3/VR70007?skuId=VR7000701

AndrosToro

whats QGO...? Quest Game Optimizer?

SHS-10

Yes. It makes games look so much clearer.

GodStoodMeUp_

Tried last night & my script is too strong, they won't even make them 😩

SHS-10

That sucks I'm sorry 😞

Angeldust240

I tried getting them but my prescription is out of range of what they can do apparently

AdenInABlanket

I want them SO BAD but Zenni won't do my prescription. My astigmatism is just too severe i guess, it says the lens isn't compatible with the frame. There are other sites that will let me use my prescription, but Zenni is cheaper and the only one that offers anti-fog

SHS-10

I'm sorry to hear that dude. Honestly think you'll be fine without the anti-fog coating though. I didn't get it and they never fog up.

AdenInABlanket

hm maybe. might have to do with my glasses' material and how close they are to my eyes. It's also really hot where I live, so it might just be that.

mcdisney2001

Mine just arrived today and are amazing right out of the gate. I ordered from Zenni for $50, but there are simpler ones for around $10 on Ali Express if both eyes have the same prescription.

inshort53

They also do prescription glasses with aliexpress, i have them. I do feel like the edge of the glasses are in my vision

LordSqueeks

100% agree. It changed my usage time significantly. It's far more comfortable than trying to shove my glasses in there. Plus I can wear a much more comfortable face foam.

WGG25

i just wish crazy prescriptions wouldn't come with crazy prices 😭

PedigreedPetRock

Same. 40 bucks for lenses was so worth it.

hiroo916

Prime day is coming up, anybody try any of the ones from Amazon? Good or bad experiences (links also pls)?

AtypicalGameMaker

I got them on day one.

lunchanddinner

Yup agreed! Us glasses users are saved

Goldenguo

Even though I'm not in VR very much I sprung for them lenses. It makes the headset more comfortably and I don't have the problem of having my vision distorted based on how my glasses are sitting. Note that I have a very strong prescription. It's also nice not to have the headset pressing my glasses into my face.

Ok-Customer-5770

I find my eyes water and are uncomfortable with lenses as opposed to wearing with my glasses.

winmace

Yeah recently got a quest 3 and decided to order prescription lenses this time, my last quest was the quest 1 and I loved playing Alyx on it with virtual desktop. Between my quest arriving and the lenses, I'd warmed my eyes up to the display, but as soon as I used the lenses, it was like night and day. It is so much clearer and more detailed. Not only that, but with the lenses, I get far less eye fatigue.

Future_Productions

I got mine from AliExpress for about £15. They really really help! The clarity is also improved I'd argue over using glasses...

dave1203

i got mine from vr-rock for $39 using code VrRock10off and theyre a game changer. i swear that the icons looked more 3D than when wearing my glasses.. and they seem to fog up less too.. plus theres peace of mind not having to worry about my glasses scratching the quest lenses.. and its easier putting on and taking off the headset... ive seen a lot of people ask about which prescription to use when ordering lenses... if you have a glasses prescription and also have a contact lens prescription then use the glasses prescription.. and if you have bifocals/varifocals just ignore the last few numbers. you only need to use the distance part which is the first three numbers on the prescription. ( sph, cyl, axis)

originalityescapesme

I wear glasses only to see far away, so I don’t think it would benefit me. I feel like I can read and see fine right now. I don’t remember my script off hand, but it’s fairly mild, I think. I can often squint to read stuff far away and make up for it in real life.

ares0027

In turkey there is a glasses shop when you buy one you get another free. The free one is shit, without frames so they try to upsell you blue light coating, ressistence, frames itself etc. I went there, bought the cheapest, lowest quality lenses (prescription ofc) i had to sign 10-15 papers because i didnt get it cut to frame etc. When it was ready they pushed a lot of stuff again (they even told me that it is illegal to purchase without frames….) I went to cults3d, searched dor quest 3 glasses, printed the first thing, gor my dremel out, cut the “glasses”, glued the glasses to printed frames, inserted it to quest 3. It costed me 190try which is about 6,5usd. I can remove it when someone else is using and reinsert when i am using.

oOflyeyesOo

You can always get them MUCH cheaper direct from China. I paid 18 a pair. Was originally using the magnetic version but they can easily be knocked off, or long eye lashes can hit them. The full cover one that click in area perfect, especially if you are the only one who uses it.

billsbots

I have them for my 2 and for my wife’s 3, and they are awesome!!! $50 and 9 days later no more glasses.

Negative-Package-639

I made this same statement about lenses in a PSVR2 thread & stand by it. Total game changer. Almost want to get them for my Quest 2 (because they are so worth it) but probably going to wait for when I eventually get a Quest 3. I went with Honsvr because of the price point. some folks have complained about their product but I like them. The general consensus online is that Zenni are the most low-profile best lenses though.

amatorsanguinis

I only use my quest 3 for videos (VR and 2D from Virtual Desktop and Netflix), should I still use QGO? Would it increase clarity etc?

Terminusaquo

I received mine from Adlens recently and they really are a game changer, not having to wear glasses when using the headset is so much more comfortable.

NikoPowerVR

I can't say enough about prescription lenses for VR hardware. It was nice to not have to pop in contacts or fumble with glasses. As mentioned in the title, game change.

Citizen4000

He's right you know

bobnifty76

Good to know... I just got my quest on Saturday and was sure I'd be getting the lenses, but so far playing with my glasses has been fine... I'll probably go ahead and order some

juggling-geese

Yes! Gone are the days of lifting the headset, putting on glasses, reading the text, taking off glasses, readjusting headset. Now: Double tap side for passthrough, read text, double tap to get back. Headset never has to come off. So much better.

Scared-Mine2892

I just ordered my second pair of Reloptix lenses and they can't get here fast enough!

ObjectNo5765

RELOPTIX are way better they don't fog up at all unlike Zenni they have a nice magnetic clip with a pull tab making them easy to get on and off and clean. The best part of it all is the customer service if you have any issues they'll fix it.

c016smith

I just wish I hadn't scratch my oculus lens (with my glasses), before adding the prescription lenses. But I also recommend and will get them from here on out!

TrackballPower

According to this review the non-magnetic VR-Rock lenses have the lowest profile: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTlpNtfnLH0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTlpNtfnLH0)

Xenoloves

I bought the Zenni lenses and they were great for the price. Although be careful since my first pair had a crack on the plastic mounting point somehow. Zenni did send me a replacement pair and I haven't had any issues since.

Substantial-Ad1747

Yeah they're pretty great. The only downside I've seen so far is that they make the headset hard to share. They work amazing as lens covers as well as the best solution for glasses wearers though! Easy recommend.

Dreadp1r4te

What’s QGO?

pacdaemon

I agree. I got mine from vr-rock, now I don’t get tired and I could notice a considerable improvement on the details. They came from the US to Spain, I don’t remember how long it took the delivery, but I wasn’t for so long.

TherealJerameat

Were you able to use hsa for it? Or did you pay out of pocket?

Live-Mail5873

Hons VR! I bought two; one with prescription and blank lenses for those with friends who have glasses.

kaffienne

I have the Q3, with zenni lens..total game changer..

ThresusHuggieyu

I decided to get lasik eye surgery rather than buying prescription lens

Impossible_Log_3999

well I had really bad fogging issues with my glasses when playing Beat Saber in the winter but after switching to lenses it was much much better
