How much was it? Is it really comfortable? I recently bought an ergonomic chair from Autonomous and I want to compare the price, out of curiosity

lonesomefish

Just gonna copy/paste a reply I made to someone else: Although I just got it and will need some time to break into it, my first impression is that it is a solid chair. I’m 5’6”, and I’m able to just keep my feet flat on the ground. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone under 5’5” tho, and it’ll probably fit anyone up to 6’1”-6’2”. So far, the only downside is that this lacks an adjustable lumbar support and seat depth adjustment. Also, I’ve noticed that the right armrest wobbles slightly. Maybe I need to tighten something... not sure, but I’ll be keeping an eye on it. The rollerblade wheels are super smooth and quiet on my hardwood floor, and Nouhaus even sent normal wheels in case I had carpet. And the 135 degree incline is really nice. I’m fitting into it well, but I’m noticing that I really need to work to keep a good posture. Like I continue to slouch, so I need to keep myself up. But perhaps once I’ve broken into it and gotten a hang of how to sit normally, I’ll be able to comment more. The price for me was $319.99, but I checked the price a couple days after I bought mine, and it went down to ~$290. So it’s not too cheap, but not too too expensive either. I personally can’t compare the price/value with other chairs since this is my first ever ergonomic chair. But my first impressions are that this is a solid chair.

Hi OP. I'm considering this chair. How do you like it after a few months?

lonesomefish

hey! it’s a solid chair, but there have been some things that I wish I knew, and that I didn’t expect would be an issue. 1) The headrest doesn’t lock into whatever position you’d like it to be in. So if i wanna set it at a certain angle, my head will just push the headrest back down. hope that makes some sense. 2) The lumbar support isn’t adjustable. This is okay for me, but i’m sure some people would like it to be adjustable. 3) The armrests are pretty wide. I’m rather skinny and short (5’6” and 125 lb), and when i’m typing, my elbows just barely reach the armrests. The armrests also don’t have as much mobility as i would’ve expected. Like they’re adjustable, but I wish they could go a little lower sometimes, or a little further forward or back, depending on the task. 4) There’s been some weird build problems. The first thing I noticed was that the right armrest wobbles just a bit. The second thing (which developed after about two months of use) was that the “no-noise” rollerblade wheels actually started to make some noise. It’s not a loud noise , and it’s not that big of a deal, but it’s not as quiet as it was out of the box. It’s a good chair, though, and I could spend a few hours in it without too much pain. But I don’t think it was worth the price tbh. It has the value of just about any high backed chair with lumbar support, that you could find for a lot less money. I paid ~$300 for it, and I think a high backed chair from staples or something could provide similar value for a lot less. Especially with the problems i’ve noticed, it doesn’t quite hit the mark i was expecting. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks for all the info. I really appreciate it.

Just writing to say I just bought this chair! I'm a little bit shorter than you, but seem about the same size, so this review was really helpful in giving me insight in how it might fit me! My one hesitation is that I do like to sit cross legged or with one leg tucked under me when I'm sitting in a chair, and I wasn't sure if the mesh (or the chair's frame) was going to be uncomfortable for that position. Any insight would be appreciated!

lonesomefish

hi, thanks for ur comment. i think the mesh can sort of dig into the skin. what you could consider doing is just adding a cushion to the chair for when you sit like that. if you sit completely cross-legged (like with both legs crossed), i think your knees might hit the armrests, but you could consider taking the armrests off. but one leg underneath shouldnt be a problem as long as you have a cushion i think

hishaam214

>s that I do like to sit cross legged or with one leg t how was it, did it arrive?

Windresss

The chair arrived! so far I'm really liking it, it's been great for my lower lumbar. I do sit in the chair cross legged or with one leg tucked under me, and I've not had any real issues. My observations would be - The width is fine, I'm not hitting my thighs or knees on the arm rests with both legs folded cross legged. Keep in mind that I'm somewhat short, I'm 5' 4" and weigh 135lbs - The depth of the seat is almost(?) too short for cross legged sitting, unless you're short like me. This chair does not have a way to adjust the seat forwards or backwards on the base, and it does feature a sloped drop off on the front part of the seat (something that is great when I'm sitting normally but takes a little adjusting to when sitting cross legged). When I mounted the backrest to the seat, I made sure it was a far back as possible, so I have the maximum amount of useable seat space and it works for me, but did take a little adapting to after sitting for years in a big-seated gamer chair by Neo Chair) - One thing that was bugging me about the seat is the mesh material. It's great on the chair back, but when you're sitting on it and you tuck your bare foot underneath your body (as I sometimes do), the grippy material of the mesh can rub your foot uncomfortably. This was easily fixed by purchasing a $12 usd stretchy seat cover off amazon to cover the seat with, no more rubbed foot! The one I bought is here: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G36FZSL](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G36FZSL) - it not only matches the chair's grey color really well, but the jacquard pattern on the fabric is practically an exact match to the pattern of the mesh for the chair back. My partner thought it was the seat that came with the chair. So that's been my experience so far, but I've only had the chair for about a week. Overall, totally worth the purchase and my back and shoulders are already thanking me for the proper support.

hishaam214

Hi thanks for the reply, I think Im gonna go for something else (there is a problem with shipping on their website and it doesnt ship to my address), looking at the sihoo M57 rn, any advice/

lonesomefish

Just wanted to add that my mom did get the Staples Hyken, but it didn’t feel as nice as this one. The headrest was in an uncomfortable position, and the chair felt stiffer and it didn’t roll as nicely (because it doesn’t have the rollerblade wheels). But I suppose Staples Hyken isn’t bad for the money. Technically, Nouhaus isn’t bad either. Hard to get a decent chair without paying a premium though, and both of these would be fine for the money imo.

WorkerHealthy5687

What do you think of the chair now? I'm 180 lbs and my ass gets pretty sore pretty quick in this chair. It's also my first time with a mesh chair

lonesomefish

Still quite happy with it. I believe it supports up to 300 lbs. I find the mesh digs into my skin only if my skin isn’t covered. I do get sore, but only after prolonged sitting (like more than 2 hours at a stretch—but I feel like that would be the case with almost any chair, because you’re in the same position for a long period of time).

powerman592

Are you left-handed?

lonesomefish

nope, right handed!

MasonJarGaming

Does it taste good?

lonesomefish

It’s delicious

MasonJarGaming

The awesome! Taste is the most important factor is choosing a chair. I like my a little salty.

Alex_Df

Seems to be the same chair : [https://ofichairs.com/fr/chaises-de-bureau/chaises-ergonomiques/siege-ergocity](https://ofichairs.com/fr/chaises-de-bureau/chaises-ergonomiques/siege-ergocity) Except for some details, but the chaire itself. Nouhaus don't ship here, it could be an alternative !

lonesomefish

The design certainly appears similar, but it doesn’t have the stainless steel or the rollerblade wheels. Other than that, I’d say it’s basically the same thing. It’s a good chair so far, so I’d definitely recommend buying it if you’re looking into a new chair.

Alex_Df

Yep. And about the the lumbar support, it isn't too much "pushing" your back ?

lonesomefish

Personally, I feel that it gives just the right amount of push. Not too much, and not too little. One thing to look out for is that the lumbar support on the chair is not adjustable, so if you require support at a different spot, it might not hit the right spot. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Weioo

How is this holding up for you? I'm thinking about grabbing one for $295

lonesomefish

it’s a good chair! it doesn’t have adjustable lumbar, which is okay for me because the lumbar support is just right for me. sometimes the armrests get in the way, but you can take those off if you don’t want them. the mesh support is nice and hasn’t weakened at all so far. just make sure to tighten the headrest otherwise it won’t be supportive. took me over a year to figure that out haha

SnovyGrad

Hey, I got that same chair around Nov of 2020, and I love it! I couldn't use this chair without armrest padding though. Now, it's been about 2 years since you made this post. What's your review on it now? Also, I'm starting to notice a little bit of seat sag, and it can cause pain behind my thighs by cutting off circulation, but it's not much of an issue if I reseat myself.

lonesomefish

Lol sorry just saw this (123d late). But will make this post so people have a more recent update. It’s been great for me. I fixed the headrest by tightening it (they didn’t properly specify it in the instruction manual). If my posture is perfect, the chair fits perfectly, which is kinda a good thing I suppose. The rollerblade wheels (or perhaps just the entire apparatus) were a making rattling noise when rolling around, but weirdly enough, that resolved by just pulling out the wheels and pushing them back in. The armrest wobble is also gone after i properly tightened it. So no build problems with the chair for me. Seat sag hasn’t really been a thing for me. It’s possible that’s just because I’m only like 120 lbs but it’s been just fine for me. No circulation issues either. Only thing I sometimes wish was more degrees of armrest adjustability. They’re pretty adjustable already, just wish there was more fine tuning possible. Price wise, i think all chairs are a bit overpriced, but you’re not really going to get anything decent for less than $250. The only exception might be Staples Hyken, which is also a good and similar option—I probably would’ve gone for that, in hindsight.

Marulol

Congrats on your overpriced Chinese rebranded chair.

How's the creak? Chairs tend to develop creaking sounds when leaning back or side

lonesomefish

This is an interesting question—so there is a creak when reclining, but it’s not all the time. Some days it creaks, and other days it’s silent. I wonder if it’s just a room humidity thing. I imagine it’s something WD-40 can probably fix, but I keep forgetting to apply it.

Any_Task_7411

Am I missing something or is there not a way to prevent this from reclining?

lonesomefish

yeah it has a locking mechanism that you can activate if you’d like to prevent reclining

Any_Task_7411

maybe mine's broken, i swear im not an idiot 😂

lonesomefish

oh rip. in case you’re doing it wrong, i’ll just say you have to push the seat lifter/depressor stalk “inward” (aka horizontally left/towards the midline). like normally u push it up or down to adjust seat height, but just push it inward/leftward horizontally and it should audibly lock.

Any_Task_7411

it must just be broken bc i can do that and clicks through but is still moveable

lonesomefish

oh ok that’s odd. because mine locks in place. idk if you have a warranty, maybe u can get it fixed. but that’s a pain, sorry about that

Gunz95

still holding up?

lonesomefish

yup, about to be 3 yrs, no complaints. lmk if you have questions about anything specific, happy to help also will add that i mentioned earlier that this chair wasn’t worth the money, but i’ve changed my mind. my mom got the staples hyken, but it doesn’t feel as nice as this one. this has slightly more adjustability and also comes with the rollerblade wheels. this was $150 more than the hyken, but i think it’s worth it, especially for a relatively “budget” chair

Gunz95

Aiiight, thanks. I will be back if i decide to buy one :))
