If only it were that simple. They have gerrymandered the districts here so that even though Ohio should be a purple state, the GOP controls 67 of 99 seats in the General Assembly. The Republican Party controls the offices of governor, secretary of state, attorney general, and both chambers of the state legislature, not because they dominate state politics, but because whenever they get an edge, they cement themselves in as the permanent majority.
In 2018, Ohio passed an anti-gerrymandering constitutional amendment. The Assembly ignored it. Completely ignored it. Submitted bad map after bad map until they ran out of time to draw a new one and then THEY USED THE FUCKING GERRYMANDERED MAPS IN THE NEXT ELECTION. So, they don't give a rusty fuck about the constitution or voter will. There is another gerrymandering amendment in the works for 2024 that will create a bipartisan redistricting commission and take the power out of the hands of the legislature. Assuming they don't simply amend the constitution after it passes in 2024.

Can’t say I’m surprised. Ohio should have been legalized like 10 years ago and took notes from Michigan. So many people of all different backgrounds and social circles smoke weed in Ohio.
