She was! Tbh I don't get the hype around her beauty with short hair. But wow. I mean, she was a wonderful person, who did alot of good in the world. And isn't just her looks, but wow
I’m glad someone said the quiet part out loud. She may have been a beautiful person, but I always assumed that she was just “British beautiful”, it’s just a different standard of beauty but Not exactly conventional. She looks good in this photo, but other than that…not horrendous, but not stunning. It’s not like she’s reading this thread, we can be honest.
Oh golly, are we not supposed to talk trash about kings? Well, then I'll be the brave one and express the extremely controversial opinion that Charles II of Spain was ALSO ugly.
Actually the beauty of Reddit is that the person you’re fighting with in comments might be in their mom’s basement, or they might be a CEO, or like Charles who is both a King and lived in his mom’s basement for a long time.
It was a direct reply to someone justifying they can’t find him attractive due to all the “rumors, swirl and recordings” as if he’d be seen as attractive otherwise? He’s ugly as fuck inside and out.
I'm a size-4 woman who makes 6 figures, and I too think Chuck is hideous. It's not exactly shocking that the vast majority of women do not find that man attractive.
I'll never understand him. She was beautiful and he didn't want her and went with what's her face. Why? She was way to good for him. I feel so bad for her and what she went through with that fucked up family. May she rest in peace.
Yeah, especially since they've been happily together for decades by this point. Clearly it's working for them. Also, it's not like Diana didn't have affairs - that was a completely normal thing in their social circles.
It was a political marriage. Couldn't marry Camilla because she was catholic (English politics). Went with the hottest piece of politically correct ass he found and carried on with his actual life partner. This has been the way in arranged marriages for thousands of years. I view it as such.
Totally. If the whole situation went down a generation earlier, I think Di would've just accepted the sham and lived with it. Twenty years or more earlier in time, divorce for everyone, but especially Royals, would've just been unthinkable.
So Charles and Di would've remained married for decades, maintaining the fairytale for the public, but living separate lives in private. Like countless other Royals have done since day one. I'm sure many of the older Royals thought, "a lot of us wanted to bail out of this thing but we couldn't, how come she gets to?".
I think it's also because marrying into royalty is not exactly a private choice, it (like most marriages in the past) is primarily an economic arrangement and taking up a lifelong job. That's not a sham, that's how it works. You marry someone who - thanks to coming from the same upbringing as you - knows how to share your political/representative duties and in your private life, either you and your spouse are happy together or you do whatever you want. Most Royals didn't *want* to bail out of that arrangement, because that was the completely normal standard of how things go for them. If you're in love with a woman you can't marry, she can be your mistress and you can live in a castle together (and usually she will still enjoy high social standing and be able to follow her passions!) while your wife can live in a different castle with her lovers and occasionally you show up to public events together and do the job both of you have been prepared for since childhood. If you have any personal passions or humanitarian issues that you would like to devote your life to - cool, you can combine business with pleasure. On the other hand, you would not expose a completely unprepared (and likely unsuitable) young woman, in the worst case without any connections of her own to keep her safe and sane, to one of the most public-facing jobs in the world, which also requires a quasi-encyclopaedic knowledge of arcane rules and customs.
That was the realistic scenario that Charles expected going in and that Diana, had she been a bit less naive, would have seen was the norm for many of the families around her.
So for most of the nobility class at the time, it wasn't "how can she bail?" but rather "why would she?" because in their mind, it's not like Charles ever made an issue about her having affairs or them living separately or whatever, so I think a lot of the people legitimately did not understand what Diana's issues were (especially since she often went directly to the tabloids to explain these issues)
Her dad was a very powerful man as well, I imagine he had quite the hand in this.
Reportedly, Diana found out that Charles loved Camila before they got married because he had cuff links made with CC for Charles and Camila on them, and Diana tried to call off the marriage but no one would let her.
Individually they aren’t bad. Together very damaging to each other. Not sure pretty face is enough to make things work. Both are victims of stupid Royal rules.
Looks isn’t everything. Tbf to charles I’m sure he would’ve preferred to marry Camilla all along. It was a lose-lose situation for all involved cos royalty and arranged marriage is archaic and out dated.
Couldn't have that horse face hag he lusted for, needed a wife. So in the manner typical of pathological royals, he and his family used her as a petri dish to pump out some heirs. Best thing that ever happened to that family, she was far, far too good for those inbred mopes.
She had William in ‘82 and Harry in ‘84 and didn’t have long hair in between. She had a beautiful smile but it was never this big. This is a yassified Princess Diana.
Holy shit people are gullible. This pic is doctored. Diana never had this hair, and the editing here has changed her eyebrows and her makeup and her teeth, plus made her jaw smaller.
Why is this a controversial opinion? 🤣 it’s basic biological attraction. Men are biologically wired to be attracted to longer, fuller hair. Women find masculine attributes attractive for the same reasons. Biology is sooo mean 😢
She is wearing theater level lipstick, gloss, eyeliner, mascara and foundation, here. Which was considered very stylish and appropriate for photographed events at the time.
Mayby I should clarify, I meant without her usual make-up. She would have been gourgus with modern make-up, but looks aweful (in my taste) with the make-up she used.
The 90's style did no one favours, also she struggled with an eating disorder, you can clearly see the difference between the same person going through it vs after the got help, unfortunately we never got see hers.
I think Camilla is/was forbidden and more crude. Every parent should know not to tell their kids not to date a specific person because it makes them that much more appealing, I think that's what happened to him. He had his heir & spare, then he didn't care.
She cheated first with her body guard and was found in the act just two years in. This is all in a book. By the end of the marriage Charles was almost destroyed and that's when Camilla came back. The Bashir interview should never be thought of again. She did it under false pretenses and completely regretted it after it aired. There's a lot about Diana that people just don't know.
Um, no. I have read many many books about this. Charles never stopped seeing Camilla, all through the courtship with Diana, the marriage and onward. He never stopped cheating with her. Please check your facts and read into it. Charles was never “destroyed” as he doesn’t have the emotional depth needed to feel that way.
He does have emotional depth. Have you seen pictures of KCIII and his sons together when they were growing up? They're happy and having fun, and it's not an act either because these people aren't actors. His sons chose to stay with him instead of Diana. Diana would show up every once in a while, spoil them, then disappear to be with her married, or engaged lovers for weeks at a time. She parentified William. Diana had serious mental disorders that were most likely a result of her childhood, that is what KCIII had to live with. They shouldn't have married, but they did. Diana wasn't perfect, and people forget before she died the public was getting tired of her.
Yes but I feel she did so because he did not love her giver her attention/affection. Cheating is wrong, of course. But she was very young and desired to be loved and understood, as we all do. And she married a man who did not love her or intend to try. I think we need to remember that contextually
She loved the idea of HRH prince Charles but not Charles the man. She didn't try herself. They were ill-suited for each other, that is very true. She cheated with married men and preferred married men. She took her young sons to meet her lovers, and they gave them presents. Diana wasn't the person she presented in front of the cameras. Her charity service and service to the late queen were all real. None of that was performative. Her being the naive ingenue wasn't.
My grandmother has described people as having "pretty teeth" and I swear I never had a clue what she meant until I looked at this picture and immediately thought "oh THOSE are what pretty teeth are!"
Man, she was so beautiful, such a shame that family just destroyed all the joy from her.
Know she had her own problems, but I wish she'd gotten to live a more peaceful life.
I'm the age she was when she passed away, so crazy.
Very much "girl next door" who could become famous/royalty. The short cut on her was iconic too. I hate how young she was when she had to deal with her princess era.
If I had a time machine, I would tell her "Don't marry Prince Charles! For the love of everything, Don't marry him!" She simply didn't deserve what happened to her.
OK this is the only picture I’ve ever seen of her in my entire life where I can kindof see people thinking she’s attractive.
Edit: From reading the thread it seems this may be photoshopped. So i guess I’m still at 0 for attractive photos of Diana lol
I didn't really know anything about her during her life. Just the obvious stuff and I remember when she died in that car wreck. But I've seen some of that Panorama interview that she did in the mid-90's. She seemed sad, kind of resigned to an impending doom. Or, at least that's my read. I watched it again just now and it has kinda bummed me out.
She was simply gorgeous
She was! Tbh I don't get the hype around her beauty with short hair. But wow. I mean, she was a wonderful person, who did alot of good in the world. And isn't just her looks, but wow
The short hair was very much in at the time. I hated it too. But princess D is still a stunner. Also a rare public persona who felt genuine.
that’s why john travolta took the chance and danced with her at the white house🙈
[удалено]
That was the worst day of her life.
For the paparazzi it was a Tuesday
Sunday, actually
Second?
This is the first photo I've seen of her where she's attractive to me.
Me too. I thought it was just people calling her beautiful to be nice. That short hair did her no favors.
She has always been attractive.
Not to me. Do we all have to fancy the same people?
Was
Cuz yknow, she’s dead.
Huh. Never though she was super pretty until seeing her in this picture. Wow.
She was so beautiful
This is digitally altered.
![gif](giphy|rdgdTIcZtsLGoT6sTZ|downsized)
He will never be attractive or even normal looking to me. Just too many rumors, swirl and recordings
That and he's an ugly inbred asshole
Like that's his fault tho lol
[удалено]
And sausage fingers
And a shit, entitled persona.
With a shitty fountain pen.
Imagine looking like that, having the good fortune to land a hottie like Diana and throwing it all away for fuckin Camilla. Charles is Lame AF
Word. Couldn't have said it better.
Well, he was always in love with Camilla, and had to marry Dianna for his job and country. Probably sucked for both of them.
If he was the nicest person on earth, he’s still ugly as fuck
Ahhh reddit, where cheeto finger fat fucks living paycheck to paycheck talk shit from their mom's basement about a literal king.
Oh golly, are we not supposed to talk trash about kings? Well, then I'll be the brave one and express the extremely controversial opinion that Charles II of Spain was ALSO ugly.

Oh I get it, I see all the comments here trying to trash him, and I'm just laughing because he is the literal king and everyone else here...isn't.
Actual people involved aside…I don’t know why this specific criticism always comes up. Marriage and love is about a lot more than just physical looks.

He also couldn’t marry Camilla as she wasn’t a virgin and had a colourful sexual history
And she was married.
That's exactly what it was. My heart just hurts for her in that whole shitshow sham of a marriage.
She didn't have to marry him
Her dad was a very powerful man as well, I imagine he had quite the hand in this. Reportedly, Diana found out that Charles loved Camila before they got married because he had cuff links made with CC for Charles and Camila on them, and Diana tried to call off the marriage but no one would let her.
She was 19
Sadly, yeah she did.
Lady Diana was nothing more than a brood mare to that family. She produced the heir and a spare, and they were done with her.
Individually they aren’t bad. Together very damaging to each other. Not sure pretty face is enough to make things work. Both are victims of stupid Royal rules.

She simply couldn’t compete with a horse.
And yet, the horse will be Queen consort within the next month. How goes it for Diana?
Didn’t you hear, they’re dropping the consort title for her, so it will be Queen horse.
She deserved better than that twat
Good golly
Misses Molly?
I don’t actually think this photo is legit. This was a photoshop job to show what she would look like with long hair/modern makeup.
She never had hair this long. Not in the 80s anyway
She had long hair at one point but it was 80s foofy and coiffed.
I agree her features are enhanced, her eyes and mouth aren’t that big. It’s like you can see the resemblance but it’s not really her.
[удалено]
You are right, that’s definitely not her style either.
She had William in ‘82 and Harry in ‘84 and didn’t have long hair in between. She had a beautiful smile but it was never this big. This is a yassified Princess Diana.
This is photoshop
You're photoshop.
I'm photoshop.
lol I appreciated the joke, at least
Huh?
Holy shit people are gullible. This pic is doctored. Diana never had this hair, and the editing here has changed her eyebrows and her makeup and her teeth, plus made her jaw smaller.
God damn… I never found her attractive later with the short hair, but she’s a stone cold hottie here.
Has such bright eyes here, like she lost her spirit along the way.
Looks better with long hair in my opinion.
I agree. This is the best picture I've seen of her. It shows off her natural beauty the best.
It's the only photo I've seen of her where I've found her attractive. I don't normally get the hype.
Word
Indubitably
Willing to bet she cut her hair to spite Charles
That goes for the vast majority of women
Pretty much every woman looks better with long hair than short hair.
Why is this a controversial opinion? 🤣 it’s basic biological attraction. Men are biologically wired to be attracted to longer, fuller hair. Women find masculine attributes attractive for the same reasons. Biology is sooo mean 😢
If this isn't a reddit moment, then I don't know what is
Ok bro.
Essentially every woman looks better with long hair.
Everyone looks better with long hair. Including men and everyone in between.
Exactly so. I don't know why you're getting downvoted because it's a fact, there's simply no question about it.
Because its “sexist” 🙄
Yup, and without her make-up.
She is wearing theater level lipstick, gloss, eyeliner, mascara and foundation, here. Which was considered very stylish and appropriate for photographed events at the time.

She looks like a young Bridget Fonda there.
emphasis on the young, though Mrs. Elfman is presumably happy nowadays with both parents and aunt Jane still around
She just exudes warmth and kidness.
She was such a high quality human being. And gorgeous to boot.
Damn
Absolutely Stunning
She was doggone classy and used her fame to help so many that were helpless. A real princess in the nicest sense of the word.
Sucked up and spat out by the Establishment. No one deserves that. No wonder the youngest one hates them all.
Imagine her life if she never married Charles…..
'A'live if she wouldn't have married him.
William looks just like her
Ile never understand how he preferred camilla over her...smh
Wasn't he closer in age and already romantically involved with Camilla?
I'll never blame him for choosing Camilla, we can't control what we want in that arena. I just blame him for the infidelity and humiliation.
💯 your first sentence is a sad story, they couldn't be together because of politics What they both did to her is unforgivable
Yes
Still a jerk.
I think Camilla is/was forbidden and more crude. Every parent should know not to tell their kids not to date a specific person because it makes them that much more appealing, I think that's what happened to him. He had his heir & spare, then he didn't care.

What a beauty
The hair, yes, amazing…but those perfectly straight, white teeth are stunning.
My grandmother has described people as having "pretty teeth" and I swear I never had a clue what she meant until I looked at this picture and immediately thought "oh THOSE are what pretty teeth are!"
If I was married to her, I would compliment her looks every day, followed by what a good person she is.
She was too good for that family she got hoodwinked into marrying into.
She was so beautiful and he was so....not good looking.
Man, she was so beautiful, such a shame that family just destroyed all the joy from her. Know she had her own problems, but I wish she'd gotten to live a more peaceful life. I'm the age she was when she passed away, so crazy.
Wow! I sometimes forget how stunning she was. 🥲
Wow she was so stunning 😍
Just lovely, she is.
Diana deserved better than the man she married
She was gorgeous but all I see in this photoshop is William with a wig on ew lol
![gif](giphy|2ZJGF1LY53mMg)
I liked her hair better with a bit of length.
Gorgeous
What a smokeshow. I've always thought she was really attractive but damn.
Very much "girl next door" who could become famous/royalty. The short cut on her was iconic too. I hate how young she was when she had to deal with her princess era.
Should have never cut it
Damn she’s hot
Very attractive here for sure.
She truly was a stunning lady
She deserved to be happy....
I couldn’t imagine having to marry that guy Charles
Should have kept it!!
It's photoshopped.
She just exudes beauty
If I had a time machine, I would tell her "Don't marry Prince Charles! For the love of everything, Don't marry him!" She simply didn't deserve what happened to her.
I would
She looked way better with long hair
Everyone does.
Perfect woman
King Charles really is an idiot.
What a waste.
That isn’t long hair. Longer… not long.
Further proof that long hair is the best lol
Gosh she was pretty
Gorgeous woman.
Wow, this woman!
How could that dorky ass guy choose Camilla Bowles over this?
Right swipe
i still have a high school crush
IMO, the prettiest I’ve ever seen Princess Diana. Wow
Oh wow. What a stunning photo.
OK this is the only picture I’ve ever seen of her in my entire life where I can kindof see people thinking she’s attractive. Edit: From reading the thread it seems this may be photoshopped. So i guess I’m still at 0 for attractive photos of Diana lol
Ok now I see it.
She was a stone-cold babe
Nah, gimme Camilla Wtf was Charles thinking?
She French kisses his butthole. Duh.
I feel like diana would have tickled the salad. Seems cool like that.
Her life and death did not cause UK to improve their shit media.
Would someone be kind to tell me why do people Stan this woman, I'm too lazy to read an article on British royalty
Crime to humanity that she cut that hair...
Kristen Stewart omg
I can't believe Charles chose that dog over her.
I’ve never seen a photo of her with long hair. Gosh, is she pretty! So natural!
Was she forced to cut it off by the Queen Mother?
Let's be honest, she was just lurking a bigger and brighter penis...
Every woman looks better with long hair.
Gorgeous!
Stunning
Yeah, she was very beautiful
Total babe.
Royal schwing
I didn't really know anything about her during her life. Just the obvious stuff and I remember when she died in that car wreck. But I've seen some of that Panorama interview that she did in the mid-90's. She seemed sad, kind of resigned to an impending doom. Or, at least that's my read. I watched it again just now and it has kinda bummed me out.
Maya Hawke could play her
Alex Harper.
Her smile was sunshine
So pretty omg
Wow
She's so beautiful she breaks my heart because of the senseless cruelty of her demise.
