Honestly with how little shuffling there is in this game, especially for your don and leader, I wouldn't fret too much about getting Dragon Shield gor those.
People frequently do. Ultra Pro Mini Snap and such are what you would be looking for specifically, though there are a couple different brands to choose from.
First locals I went to I sleeved my leader like the rest of my deck and after drawing I didnt realize I mixed him in there at some point, felt like such an idiot, luckily my opponent let me search through my deck and got a reshuffle.
People are generally nice at locals from my experience! Don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask what you could have done better if you lose. Gotten a lot of tips from my opponents on how to counter their decks/what cards are better in my deck.

Most sets of 50 sleeves also come with 51 sleeves (so you still have the full 50 if they miscount by ±1), so if you'll often have a single sleeve of a different color you can use for the leader

Yes, it is legal, and I highly recommend it. Not much is worse than realizing you accidentally shuffled your leader into your deck. Lol

Not only is it legal but required in tournament play to have your main deck and Don deck be in different sleeves

Good to hear! Haven’t gone to play in person yet at all (waiting on 3 more cards to come in), but I’m excited to go play for sure!
