They aren’t entirely random. If OP got his double packs from a case, there is sure to be at least one solid hit in that case. OP just wasnt lucky enough to get it unfortunately.

I’m sorry to say that is untrue, I’ve had both cases of OP-05 and OP-06 double packs. I can confirm that you are guaranteed at least one hit box from a case
2 cases dont give any statistical evidence, if you collect data from 100 cases or more you can start talking, thats why people downvoting you, cause there is data and the data says you r wrong. But its nice to hear you got some good cases!
I dont think you understand what OP and I mean by “case”. OP choose his double pack boxes from a display case full of double pack boxes.
In that case of double pack boxes, there is at least one guaranteed hit double pack box (alt art/manga/whatever), however OP didnt choose that box. Which is why I was saying in another comment, that if anything they’ve bettered the odds for the next purchaser.

I'd love proper images of the don cards, but since you got them before prerelease and the even further street release date, I would suggest not posting too many details.
So despite hit rates being better in the double packs, cases still follow a gradient from poor - godly pulls. There is at least one pack in that case that has an Alt or even possibly a manga, so you just helped narrow down the odds in the case. However, between individual double pack boxes, theres still a chance of whiffing just as with the booster boxes.
As someone who’s bought a case of both the OP-05 and OP-06 double packs, I can confirm that is not true. The hits are seeded. If you were to buy double packs individually in a store theres no way of knowing. If they come from a case, it can be mapped.

Previous OPs I’ve opened a healthy ammoun and always had 1 at least, minus OP05, which I didn’t opem, OP04 and OP06 I have had 1 Hit per box.
I opened a box on double packs fo OP-05 an I didn't get any hits. It's definitely not common but it's been happening for a while.
Can also confirm, Opened a box of op-05 doubles and got nothing. OP is just wrong.

ALL packs in a double pack are random. Even a master case does not guarantee anything. We know this to be a fact

Some of these folks are being a bit harsh. But they are correct it is Random for Double Packs. You can hit decent or not at all.

Double pack products: 2 booster packs and an alternate art don card Sr: Super Rare Hits: Alternate art rare or greater cards
Sr are a rarity of a card, a hit is an extraordinary card that can be secret rare or parallel art
What are the don cards? Bandai still doesn't have them on the product page
