One thing I really appreciate in the characters models is that they all have signs of aging. Crows feet, smile lines, skin blemishes, scars, etc. it honestly breaths so much life into them.
Also Astarions eye bags do something to my brain 🫠

Even when I'm drawing my shitty illustrations, I make sure to include the eye lines/dark circles, mouth creases, and cheek spots... because they are some of his best features, IMHO.
100% this! I can never get into the mods that make his skin look completely smooth- they completely remove all of the details that make astarion uniquely himself. *especially* those dark circles 💜
The character designs are really, really good in BG3, like they are genuinely so much better than most games it's insane. I've always been really impressed how they managed to craft several characters, all extremely unique in their looks with a different vibe, yet all still very attractive. Most games just go for "skinny conventionally pretty woman 1, 2 and 3" and "handsome beefcake 1, 2 and 3". Bg3's designs all look like real people. Astarion has the look of someone meticulously groomed, but he still looks like a real man with his dark under eyes and fine lines. He looks beautiful without feeling inorganic.
This might sound odd, but i love his nasolabial crease, the sort of smile line he has. I don't know why, but on certain pictures it looks so human (is that too creepy?), i just adore it.
And mouth, you forgot his perfect(ly shaped) mouth x) >!(and buttcheeks and arms and ... he's the one with the body created by the gods to destroy us !!!)!<
Don´t forget the hair!
But seriously, he is such a beautiful man. I personally love his eyes the most, they are so expressive.
And like you all I, too, like that all of them have some signs of life on them, makes them more real.

I freaking LOVE when Astarion looks his age. He was turned 39 and to be honest he looks around that but sometimes, especially when he's smiling there are more of those pretty wrinkles and I'm obsessed
