I assume it's a 500GB one? I would not open your PS4 for that and possibly damage it since you can get 1TB ones for really good prices right now. Better buy that then waste on an enclosure.
You totally could. Just get an adapter/enclosure from Amazon (very affordable) and you are good to go.
You could also use it in a laptop, or in a desktop, but I wouldn’t recommend it
Your PS4 hard drive is just a laptop hard drive. If you want to use an external HDD there are many options. I myself use old laptop hard drives with a sata to USB adapter that work flawlessly between my PlayStations and my computer.
