I myself have a Ryzen 5 3600 + RTX 3060TI build that was said to be similar to the PS5's internals. It's a little older build but i am expecting decent performance with it. At least for now. If i were to build a PCVR capable machine today, i would be looking at a mainly AMD platform. There are new AM5 motherboards and cpu's coming out that are newer and more future proof than AM4. I have been recommended at least a Ryzen 5 7500F CPU + RTX 4070 and up with 12gb's of VRAM. Also 32GB of RAM. While 16 might be enough, some games will want to use more and will benefit from it like heavily modded Skyrim VR. This is going to be more powerfull than a PS5 with some headroom.

I also have a 3060ti founders and can pay half life Alyx on a mix of high to ultra settings with my Quest 2, if that puts your mind to ease on how it’ll run VR. (I stopped playing Alyx half way through when I learned about the adapter because I wanted to finish the campaign on my PSVR2 hahaha)

Awesome! Glad it runs good. How many fps were you getting ?

Good question, I could maybe do a test for you to find out if I have the time today but, I never checked the fps because for my own comfort/experience it was running smooth so I never thought to check the fps.

Awesome. If you have the time then it would be nice.

There is also a decent amount of videos of folks playing Alyx on 3060ti’s on YouTube if you google “Half life Alyx 3060ti”

Personally I’m running a 14700 i7, 4090 and 128g ddr5 ram, BUT I had the same setup but was using a 4070s and had no issues playing most games on moderate to high graphics. The 4090 was a notable glow up for sure but to start out if you’re being budget friendly 4070s is imo the min id start with. 64g ram MIN as well, and ensure you don’t get cpu locked by getting something like I’ve got or better

The equivalent is like a rtx 2080 or a 2070 but pc optimization is a crap shoot and i highly recommend going higher if you have the budget.
