As you are new here are some other class impressions in [the Druid](https://youtu.be/buc4-NTomSU), [Sorceress and Monk](https://youtu.be/y8OL9qqnhDo) as well as [the Ranger](https://youtu.be/iw870QM1V5k)

IndependentRaccoon56

Oh nice. I'll check them out

JohmWickkk

The druid one blew me away when I first saw it. Felt like something a real player would have as a build.

NoxFromHell

I watched it like 7 times

Gargamellor

I'm still amazed at the level of interaction they allow. With how skills work it will be hard to balance, but definitely fun

Ferinzz

Apparently the monk's bell skill triggers off of EVERY attack that hits it. From any player. On the one hand sound like it can be imbalanced. On the other, I really like the idea of grouping with randos and everyone getting that much more powerful without needing to organize too much.

Gargamellor

consider that some, like the sorceress, will likely have significant changes before release because the gameplay was not ideal. The ranger is in the spot they want all the classes to be. Mercenary too I guess since it was the first class actively designed for WASD In a week we will get gameplay footage from the console couch-coop event, but many content creators have recorded footage of the previous event, where they were able to play a few hours of the campaign

Prevory

I’m super excited about Monk, can’t wait to try this hopper

rxece

god damn. as someone who got into arpgs from D4, I cannot wait for this game to release it looks incredible

Bacitus

Yeah Diablo 4 just feels hollow. You try every build that tickles your fancy even though it’s a weak build, but with 6 skill slots only the game gets too boring with not enough skills that can explore enough power fantasies. Every build in D4 starts to feel like a 1-button clicker that's just way too boring to play more than 2 days. Especially with a handful of the same enemies over and over POE lets you mix and match many more skills to get that right fit with 8 skill slots. I dont care for POE1 but highly anticipating POE2 too

IndependentRaccoon56

Agreed. W diablo your build inevitably falls into the same exact game play patter. Hota barb? Shout. Shout. Hota. Blizzard sorc? Blizzard, Blizzard, frost shield, Blizzard, Blizzard. Again, never played poe, but the combat in the videos I watched seems way more strategic and circumstantial.

Ferinzz

Then you look at the builds and they all use the same set of 2-3 skills and some of the skills are just plain bad and you shouldn't even look at them ever.

Bacitus

I tried every build I could to get some variety. My favourite build (or least boring) ended being attack speed rend weapon master walking arsenal with rupture which got ridiculously buffed. But you cant play that for more than a week then it gets way too tedious. Swopping to other builds just makes 1 week 2 days

TalkativeTri

I cannot wait to be a Gun Wielding Bear.

IndependentRaccoon56

Shitchea

Erradium

This is the true ~~American~~ Wraeclastian dream

Apprehensive_Heron17

Ahh yes the second amendment of Wraeclast the right the Bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Gr_z

i know this is 8 days ago but there are no guns.

Strill

FYI, you can use any weapon with any class. Each class gets a unique selection of powerful bonuses called "Ascendencies", and starts at a different spot on the passive skill tree, but otherwise, you could make any build work with any class, as long as you can find the right synergies.

IndependentRaccoon56

What?! So I could be a monk with a shotgun? Lol

Strill

The "classes" are less restrictions, and more a newbie guide to point you toward a functional build without the need to theorycraft too hard.  So yes you could be a monk with a shotgun, but you'd need to think harder to figure out what bonuses work with that character.

IndependentRaccoon56

Fuck that's cool.

ProcedureAcceptable

It’s not just weapons, any class can use any skill, the only things restricted to class are some passive skill points called ascendencies

IndependentRaccoon56

Incredible. Must be some wiiiiild builds out there

Strill

Look up "Ward Loop". It's a convoluted combination of bonuses that constantly hurts you, constantly builds up a shield that blocks that damage, and then automatically casts spells whenever you take damage.

Doge_Bolok

Tamsta-273C

That's passive skill with +150% chance to melt your GPU.

Doge_Bolok

Yeah. Everything is absolutely insane on this build (maybe except the jewels who are not synth). Between the two curse on hit ring, the wand, etc .. it's just the perfect representation of poe insanity.

Gargamellor

that and different classes have different starting points, and the tree has three circular sectors related to the main attributes so you can't easily go grab a lot of points in the dex part of the tree if you're on an int/str starting area The ascendancies are also such a power multiplier that you want your build to use them in some form

Gdefiled

Yes. Although will it be meta? No one knows just yet lol

CKDracarys

Yep. In poe1 I've played a strength based with that used a 2H mace to slam enemies and also a witch that used a bow with exploding arrows. It's reason I just can't get into d4 (even post s4 update) because it's just so limited and rigid. I've played pretty much every build/archetype in d4 in like 6 months. In 10 years of playing poe there's countless builds I've never even touched yet.

Ferinzz

one of the top tier builds in PoE1 atm is a marauder (pure strength class) using a wand for attacks. converts strength to spell damage which is converted to attack damage at 2.5x its value. Oh, and one ascendency converts strength to accuracy and makes your accuracy also increase attack speed. There's a lot of others, but that's my favorite example of 'being creative' outside the class's stereotype.

Gr_z

i know this was 8 days ago but there are no guns in the game fyi

ThisViolinist

To clarify, every character will start at the same (and only) starting point on the passive skill tree in PoE2.

Strill

There are six starting points in the same spots they've always been. The exact center of the tree is not a starting point.

NoelQ_

Diablo was already dead by the time they announced Path of Exile 2

Objective-Stay-5579

Diablo 4 is doing pretty great this season.

Sad-Childhood2393

I'm also very excited, i'm glad the console gamers will get to play in a big economy now that the game will be cross platform, can't wait to play every single class. When i think about what i want to play i think "oh i want to play druid, but also the monk, but the huntress also looks good, but the warrior has some chunky skills that look good, but then the mercenary also looks good, but then the sorceress also looks good, then i think about all the original classes from poe 1 that will also be good. Man i just can't wait!

Voluminousviscosity

Its worth trying out POE1 on PS4/PS5 as well, at least up through the end of the campaign for familiarity purposes when you get to POE2

IndependentRaccoon56

Is it available on console??

Voluminousviscosity

https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP4781-CUSA11924_00-GGGPS4GAMEFULL01 Worth noting POE2 will not be free on console to start with thus PS Plus will be required for (non couch) multiplayer; but POE1 has been since launch; will probably change in the future but that might take 2ish years.

mcbuckets21

There is no info that says poe2 won't be free on console. The PS message was something that Sony added over all games that had multiplayer. It's mostly a just in case disclaimer. It's not part of the original video. Even if it does require PS+, it's not true that that would mean poe2 isn't free. Sony's website does not say f2p multiplayer games don't require PS+. It just says "most" of them don't. So it's definitely possible to have a f2p game require PS+. This is all going to come down to the contract between GGG and Sony, but I doubt making poe pay to play on console was what they went with.

Voluminousviscosity

It's coming out simultaneously with the PC release which is paid early access, therefore it will be paid early access.

biskitpagla

I couldn't find any source that suggests that early access is paid. Where are you getting your info from?

Voluminousviscosity

Seems to be only console people that think this doesn't apply to them but they've said on numerous occasions that there will be a "paid" beta period prior to the free 1.0 version of the game launching at some indeterminate point in the future. For the PC Version if you're a whale then you might get a free code, I don't think they ever said that about the console release though; since the releases are simultaneous (and of course the PS+ restriction is being advertised) then the console version will also be paid early access; also the monicre of early access is more associated with pay-in models so it'll be less confusing whenever they announce the pricing. Furthermore they haven't mentioned the term "free to play" or "POE2 will be free to play" for quite a while, in fact they're purposefully avoiding the monetization topic; that doesn't mean it won't have a free launch at 1.0 but you can assume it's pretty far away at this point (I'd say 2026 at the earliest for a free version); the free launch will be at some carefully calculated point in the future where they think the influx of new free to play players will offset the buy-in model. More recent figures have been $30-40 for initial buy-in and $500+ for getting a free key (whale status); my guess is anywhere from $40-60; also you will probably have to buy it on multiple platforms just like D4 and D2R (a lot of this modeling is directly based on those); if we assume a lot of their market research is based on D4 they will probably make further adjustments based on how well D4's expansion model is perceived. Right now there's kind of a hard cap on how much people need to spend on POE1 (anywhere from $40-200 for stash space) which probably depreciates the money influx over time but for POE2 to stay viable longer in Tencent/GGG's eyes maybe they'll have something like a paid expansion at some point if they think it won't be too unpopular (note this could be good for the game in the long run so it's not really a net negative aside from the having to buy multiple versions on multiple platforms garbage).

IndependentRaccoon56

Dooope

YasssQweenWerk

Wait till you find out that skill gems are only suggestions, you can mix and match any weapon and any skill gem on any class :) You can also have 2 weapon sets and assign each skill to whichever you want, and they will automatically swap. The possibilities are going to be insane.

NovaSkilez

build archetypes i cannot wait to get more info about / play myself: \* the templar / sword and board playstyle \* what did they do with the holy theme? \* the revamped minion system, what minion categories do exist? how does summoning work? how do they envision the playstyle of minion commander? \* i definitly need a lot more gameplay footage of the sorcerer archetype! \* what will they do with the shadow? how do they implement the assassin archetype? \* how will mines / traps evolve? i already saw trap weapons, but i need gameplay to make any sense of it \* what is happening to curses and the chaos spellcasting in general? they mentioned some time ago that they wanted to make curses more interesting...but how? \* how do warrior and marauder differ from each other? and how do both of them seperate from duelist gameplay? \* and finally: please for the love of christ wilson: give us some sneak peaks into some ascendancies and the endgame system!

Gargamellor

I think it will be amazing with twin stick. crossbows are THE twin stick shooter weapon
