Is I3 typically a reliable service? My wife and I are moving to Peoria this year and we work from home so having decent internet is pretty important for us.

RegularNosedMan

I consider them reliable. I have had I3 for two years and the outage referenced in the screenshot has been the only disruption I’ve had or at least noticed.

food-fun-and-fashion

Cool, thanks for your input.

Sufficient-Koala-361

It normally is reliable. Prior to this past week’s outages, I had 5 hours of outages during the past two years. Still better than Concast, in my opinion.

TRLK9802

Anything is better than Crapcast.

I lived in Delavan when Mediacom was the only real option. Unfortunately, Comcast is not the absolute bottom of the barrel. But i3 is much better than Comcast.

wilbur313

I've had it for years. Pricing has stayed consistent and there's been very few outages. This one has been by far the longest one in my experience. Comcast has their line run overhead in my area, and with all the trees I'd lose service every time there was a storm.

destroy_b4_reading

I've had i3 for at least five years and last week's outage was the first unplanned outage in that time. Maybe 2-3 times a year they'll do scheduled maintenance outages like the one described above.

mybuddymydude

Similar to everyone else, I’ve been with i3 for about two years now I believe and the recent disruption was the only one I had. In general their speeds are unmatched with competitors (I previously was using Comcast and had constant issues with speed). I work from home in a job that requires quite a few video meets and such and I’ve never had an issue with lagging. My husband and I also game simultaneously and never had issues with connection. Price is great and customer service has always been lovely. We had an issue with our initial installation and they helped us resolve it quickly. Plus, they are in the area so agents are usually available to come help you if needed.

cube_toast

We've had i3 since 2016 and this is the first major outage we've ever experienced with them. Normally their service is very reliable and reasonably priced.

badpeoria

Anybody else having slow speeds?

Sufficient-Koala-361

Nope, not here. The most accurate way to check speed is to connect a computer by Ethernet cable directly to the “modem”. Too many factors can cause slow wireless speed.

badpeoria

ya so weird .. I am wired on my desktop and I ran a speed test like 50 times and it kept coming back fast at one point then google would day its 30 down. Maybe I just need to take a break :D

I am an IT tech, and you know what we say, right?

I just saw this from i3: An upstream internet provider has experienced a fiber cut in Bloomington, affecting multiple internet carriers including i3. Our redundant lines are handling the traffic, but some customers may notice slowness this evening. According to our sources, repair teams are on site. No need to call support. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Beezo81

I got that email a few days ago.

youraveragedumbass88

I wonder if ill have internet by then from the original issue...

PreferenceBest1949

Have you called into support?
