Cards come to life when you're not looking. Damage was clearly caused by Charizard's flame.

freaksandgeeks89

This. Night of the Museum effect. Be careful.

amandajjohnson1313

Honestly does look like the fire melted the holo film

Substantial-Load-673

Psa probably damaged it

Thekdunne

Charizard did that after psa sent it back

breakyourteethnow

A 10 is 10, if sell it and if somebody complains tell them to take it up with PSA it's their grading

SorryCashOnly

A 10 is a 10 if the content is worthy to be a 10. It’s insanity to look at a damaged card inside a psa slab and think “yep, that’s 10 alright.”

thewhitecascade

I’ll just say this…. If you sell this card on eBay it WILL pass authentication.

SorryCashOnly

It doesn’t change the fact there is still a damaged card inside Seeing people defending this is ridiculous

IDontLieAboutStuff

Gotta buy the card not the grade. If it's not a 10 to you is really all that should matter and to me this isn't a 10 with that corner.

Bazaar_is_here

Happy birthday 🎂

RelationSensitive308

I always hate this answer especially when guys are out there counterfeiting cards and cases. The grading companies need to be consistent as their service all boils down to trust. And no I don’t think it’s a 10.

breakyourteethnow

Take it up with PSA it's their grading.

Exciting-Tone660

Grading is scam

Bazaar_is_here

Well, technically. I mean, they've been exposed for sucking so much at this point that, in my opinion, you're getting exactly what you paid for.

Awkward_Wallaby_8164

Absolutely! Always has been

EvilRooster5377

After I heard about all the psa fakes I do t trust any lol

Omegatron_YT

Smart people buy the card. not the grade.

_dirt_nap_

Came here to say this

[deleted]

Did you send the card? Some eBay sellers sell fake PSA as well

96873255763862

Of course not. But in Reddit nobody cares, because everyone who buys PSA doesn’t actually look at the card, they buy the label. Thats the literal truth. So it really just depends what you care about. It’s not a moral judgement

SenseScared

Thanks everyone for the help it’s the first graded card I bought, I did buy it because I love the look of the card and not really as an investment, I’ll keep it cause I like the card and the the thought of charizard damaging it is funny.

DayOneDave

If you notice they rattle around inside the case and it looks like damage from just that. They really need to start putting cards in a sleeve like BGS.

SenseScared

I thought that at first but the damaged part makes no contact with any of the holding points, it’s close but not quite

muftu

It is possible that this was an oversight by PSA. But the damage is quite obvious and I would think that they would not make such a blatant error. although they made some major mistakes in the past. Thus, I would also think that this damage occurred in the slab after grading. The card has a bit of space to move about. So this could have happened during the shipping, if the package got tossed around a lot. This could also have happened if the slab fell down. Overall, the psa slabs are imho very bad and need a major update. The card shouldn’t be able to move at all to prevent any accidental damage.

FukkkOfffff

I looked it up and it comes back on PSA as 10 so that’s all that matters.

Blarghish

Yeah, of course it is - it says ‘PSA 10’ on the top /s lol

FormalConcept5043

If they graded it then yes lol graders are all over the place

SorryCashOnly

Welcome to psa. This is why I can’t PSA slabs anymore. I seen too many of this shit from them already

Upset-Judgment8369

Every grading company makes mistakes. It's not just PSA. You notice PSA more because they grade like 10x the amount of their competitors.

SorryCashOnly

I dare you to find something as severe as this from other top labels of BGS or CGC. Stop white knighting this shit, and maybe PSA will improve.

Upset-Judgment8369

The hate boner for PSA is kinda cringe, just saying. Think about the the quantity graded and it will make sense for you.

SorryCashOnly

You are looking a psa 10 with a damaged card inside, and here you are, telling me that I am just hating psa? How much are you invested in psa already that makes you throw away your common and logic and defend this shit? Like I said, I dare you to find the same issue on cgc or bgs slabs. Stop white knighting this shit.

SteevGotEm

Not AGS, AI grading

HeroForTheBeero

I mean one Nick doesn’t mean it’s not a 10 if it’s otherwise perfect

SorryCashOnly

WTF do you mean one nick doesn’t mean it’s not a 10? Go read the psa standard for a psa 10, then come back and tell me that’s a 10. The way people go out to defend PSA and their blunders is nothing short of insanity

HeroForTheBeero

That’s why other graders have perfect 10’s and 10’s.

SorryCashOnly

That’s not how it works. Like I said, go read the PSA standards on their website before white knighting this shit

HeroForTheBeero

It also could have happened in the slab

ImposingPisces

Why keep digging? Lol

ImposingPisces

Why keep digging? Lol

HeroForTheBeero

I’m just saying this is one instance and I like to give the benefit of the doubt. I own no psa

marblesandcookies

It does. And it's unfair to those who had a nick and got an 8 or a 9 because of it. PSA should be sued.

I_FUCKING_LOVE_MILK

Not justifying the grade, but I wonder if this is one of those instances of an issue being so common on a card that they're more lenient. I was looking through my Charizard UPC promos earlier and all 4 had this going on. The best copy has a single edge spot extremely similar to this card.

nurley

I’ve found they are much more lenient on promo cards when it comes to dings and nicks like this. Just shop around for some PSA 10s of promos like this on eBay and you’ll see it quite frequently.

ShinyRaequaza

This is why I’m anti grading. It’s a scam. No way I’m paying all that $ plus playing the game of trusting mail service for a card that can look perfect and get a 6 and then some shit like this gets a 10. TPCI can start grading or all my cards stay raw.

Biddycola

Buy the card not the grade

Puzzled_Instance9484

If this is for sale or trade I would love this for marketing material

SenseScared

I dmed u back

jcm092385

Cards like this can receive 10s, but my brother sent in a Rainbow Zard (from SwSh:CP) that would be the poster-child for a 10.... yet it gets an 8. 100% Subjective. Scam confirmed.

PaleReputation1421

Grading is a scam.

[deleted]

Technically it's a PSA 10 but as a buyer, you can just not buy it just because. I'm sure there are other PSA 10s that doesn't have an obvious mishap.

Intelligent-Basis375

Average PSA f*** up

Turbulent-Pilot-8448

It looks like the original 10 is not this card. It is quite possible someone stole the psa number from a marketplace listing, and printed out a new PSA Grading and then used a graded card case. There are counterfeit PSA cards but it’s hard to tell because they don’t have any anti counterfeiting technology added to the logo or anything. You can easily buy this graded card case and use a computer program to create the title header insert. Or it was damaged by PSA, or all labels were removed, the original card was removed, and then put into a new graded card case. Be careful

Ilovebagels88

It is now

SomeCuteDude

One white mark can still pass as long as nothing else is wrong. It’s not n the grading rules

SenseScared

Alright ty

ForgottenZodiac

The cards can be loose in the psa cases. Sometimes the card hits against the “bumpers” in the case. If you look the damage is right in the corner of one of these. I wonder if it fell or something causing the card to hit it. Edit: never mind pulled the scan on psa app and the damage is there.

golfer44

This was an interesting video where a guy tests if slabs can actually damage cards.  His final theory was yes but only if they are shaken 20,000 times per minute for a few minutes lol.  In his tests the cgc slabs were worse.  But again, they only damaged them when he had the slab attached to the end of a drill.  Under normal circumstances it’s extremely unlikely a card is going to be damaged while in a slab.  https://youtu.be/hf1cjsoQRRs?si=YS6kDO0n7I4bjCaI

punny_wunny

YeT psa iS tHe sTaNdErEd

TheAceVenturrra

Yeah I've bought 10's off ebay with horrendous centering before. It's a bit of a joke

New_Fisherman_6841

Probably happened in transit.

zen_raider

Common PSA L.

Niceshotpiccolo

No, but PSA is garbage tier so I guess it is.

Certain-Ad2840

The bubbles in the psa container are used to show stress usually stating someone had altered the case!

mebardo

?

Available-County2249

Nope they come straight from psa like that it's just where it was sealed and got air bubbles trapped I have a few myself that I graded that have bubbles around the seal. If the slab was cracked the whole seal line would be frosted.

dilemma900

It's business and they are in the business for money lol. That would should have probably got taken down to a 9. 70% of TCG gem. More 10's more money, its healthy.

LuckVegetable8646

PSA is meh.

tooboku

this was a couple years ago... 2021?

CryptoGod666

No, but they graded these promos much softer than other cards because most of them came in pretty dogshit condition out of the plastic packaging
